In today’s film news roundup, Alan Tudyk is supplying to voice of Iago in “Aladdin,” Atonement Pictures launches and Michael Keaton is narrating “Wings 3D.”

Alan Tudyk has signed on to voice Iago, the scarlet macaw parrot sidekick to the villain Jafar in Disney’s live-action “Aladdin,” which opens May 24.

Tudyk has voiced characters in six different Disney animated movies, starting with “Wreck-It Ralph” in 2012, followed by “Frozen” as the Duke of Weselton, “Big Hero 6,” “Zootopia” as Duke Weaselton and “Ralph Breaks the Internet” as Knowsmore. He also appeared in Disney’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” in which he played the droid K-2So.

Gilbert Gottfried voiced Iago — named after the villain of William Shakespeare’s “Othello” — as a wisecracking and easily frustrated character, saying at one point, “Look at this! I’m so ticked off that I’m molting!”

Exclusive: Edward Noeltner’s sales company announces slew of Berlin deals led by Ainbo, New Life; horror-thriller Havenhurst sells to Soda Pictures in UK.

Beverly Hills-based Cinema Management Group (Cmg) announced on Monday it has licensed Tunche Films’ 3D CGI animated Ainbo – Spirit Of The Amazon (pictured) in 12 territories led by a deal with Turbo Films in China.

Company president Noeltner and his team also closed deals in the Baltics (Best Film), former Yugoslavia (Blitz Film & Video Distribution), Israel (Film House), Middle East (Front Row), Poland (Kino Swiat), Portugal (Cinemundo), South Korea (First Run), and Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar (Blue Lantern).

Brothers Sergio Zelada, Cesar Zelada and writer-director Jose Zelada founded Peru-based Tunche Films in 2003 and produced Ainbo and Noeltner acquired sales rights following a trip to Ventana Sur in Buenos Aires last December.

Exclusive: Edward Noeltner’s Beverly Hills-based outfit kicks off international sales this week in Berlin on the romance staring Erin Bethea and Jonathan Patrick Moore.

Cinema Management Group (Cmg) holds all rights excluding North America to the Argentum Entertainment title about a man and his childhood sweetheart whose future is threatened by an unexpected event.

Drew Waters recently won best director at the Love International Film Festival in Los Angeles. James Marsters, Terry O’Quinn and Bill Cobbs also star.

New Life marks the debut feature on the Argentum Entertainment slate for principals Bethea and Waters, who both produced.

The film stars Tracey Birdsall (Loving), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’s Daz Crawford, and Star Trek III : The Search for Spock’s Stephen Manley. With a supporting cast which features Livvy Stubenrauch (Frozen), Erin Bethea (Fireproof), Tim McGrath, Miss Asia USA Ashley Park, and Aaron Jacques (I Might Even Love You). Neil Johnson directs.

In the week that possibly the biggest teaser trailer of the year hits (for Star Wars: The Force Awakens), a new science-fiction film takes to the very same dunes featured in the classic Return of the Jedi – as actress and producer Tracey Birdsall’s new film Robot Fighter is currently lensing on many of the same locations as Jedi; notably the Salton Sea, Yuma, Arizona.

Robot Fighter isn’t without its Star Wars ties, thematically either. Director Neil Johnson’s space chronicle fixes on the overthrow of humanity by Artificial Intelligence and the determined rebel who goes up against the droid empire.

Starring alongside Birdsall is Star Trek III : The Search for Spock’s Stephen Manley, Daz Crawford (Blade II), Livvy Stubenrauch (Frozen), Erin Bethea (Fireproof), Tim McGrath, Ashley Park and Aaron Jacques.

Candace Cameron Bure Talks The Heart of Christmas, on DVD today!

We know, it's not even Halloween yet, and we're already running our Christmas movie coverage. We're worse than the local Wal*Mart...But wait! It actually makes sense to release The Heart of Christmas in October, as the story takes place in the fall, as one heartbroken family hopes to give their dying son a final wish: One last Christmas! To celebrate the DVD release, with discs in stores now, we caught up with Candace Cameron Bure, one of the stars of this Dove Foundation approved tearjerker, to discuss how it came together, and what it might mean for your own family this holiday season.

Image Entertainment, Inc. is proud to announce the launch of a new label, Slingshot Pictures. The line will focus exclusively on faith-based titles and be managed by industry veteran Suzette Schafer who has been hired as Senior Vice President. The Slingshot Pictures brand will premiere in November according to Image Entertainment Chief Acquisitions Officer Bill Bromiley.

"With a current estimate of $4.5 billion annually, the faith-based market continues to grow and, at present, is underserved," commented Bromiley. "With the addition of Suzette and her vast knowledge of this market, we have identified several films that we feel are perfect for audiences and will continue to add more films to the label's library."

Paramount Pictures’ “Eagle Eye,” coupling Shia Labeouf and Michelle Monaghan, topped this weekend’s box office charts with an estimated $29.2 million earned. The thriller brings together D.J. Caruso with his “Disturbia,” churning in an $8,319 average from 3,510 venues. Offered in 3-D “Eagle Eye” gave IMAX a big weekend, handing in $1.7 million in just 85 theatres at an average of over $20,000 per screen. This becomes the highest September/October title in IMAX history. As "Fireproof" is heading to the theaters this Friday, September 26, two new clips from the Christian film have been put out. Focused on the two characters, Caleb Holt and Michael Simmons, the two videos cut from the movies display the moment when Caleb tells Michael that he is in the faith that Michael believes in as well as the scene where Michael tells frustrated Caleb that women is like a rose.

Christian actor Kirk Cameron forced movie bosses to cast his wife Chelsea as a smooching stand-in for his new film Fireproof, because he refused to kiss his onscreen wife.

In the movie, Cameron plays a firefighter battling to save his marriage to his wife, played by Erin Bethea.

But the 37 year old had made a vow to Chelsea - his wife of 17 years and the mother of his six children - that he would never kiss another woman on or off-screen, so she was brought onto the set for a romantic scene.

Cameron, a partner in evangelical Christian ministry The Way of the Master, explains, "In Fireproof, there is a romantic and touching scene where he (character) kisses his wife.

"Because I have a commitment not to kiss any other woman, my wife Chelsea came in to the set and wore the dress my character's wife wore. We shot the scene in silhouette, so when I kiss my wife, I'm actually kissing my wife and honouring our marriage.

"It's a personal commitment I have made to my wife."...
