Now that Kraven the Hunter has ended its disastrous theatrical run, the Marvel film is getting its second wind during its streaming debut. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the title character, it earned a total gross of $24 million domestically and $60 million globally against a speculated budget of $110 to $130 million.

Recently, however, Kraven the Hunter's official X account revealed that the movie had topped the charts on Apple TV:

Kraven the Hunter was the final nail in the coffin for Sony's mistitled Spider-Man Shared Universe (Ssu). It was a box office and critical disappointment, performing worse than the low bar previously set by Morbius and Madame Web, earning less at the box office than either film. The Aaron Taylor-Johnson-led movie turned the Spider-Man villain into another anti-hero, and instead of pitting him against the webhead, the movie opted for a lackluster showdown with The Rhino and The Foreigner. It appears at one point that a more exciting Kraven the Hunter project was teased, one that would have tied the shared universe with the Venom movies.

Concept artist Jules Darriulat shared some work he did on Kraven the Hunter for a planned sequence that would have featured symbiotes. Darriulat, who works for the Framestore art department, wrote in the caption, "Here's an environment shot that was done for a canceled sequence from Kraven.

Newly released concept art showcases a scrapped sequence from Kraven the Hunter that would have tied in with the Venom trilogy. Initially, Kraven the Hunter was set to debut before Venom: The Last Dance, which may have partially contributed to the scene being removed from the final cut of the film.

It wasn't hard to predict the Sony Spider-Man Universe wouldn't make a big splash in the long run. Many were optimistic and hopeful, because the more comic book movies out there, the better. But without Spider-Man as the linchpin, these superhero movies and villain origins lacked the anchor needed to build momentum and resonance.

Peter Parker is the glue that webs all of these largely obscure characters together in the source material. Additionally, it's been reported that Kraven the Hunter is the final entry of this shared universe for the time being, and it's not hard to see why. The critics aren't pleased, and audience members aren't seeing anything worthwhile. But out of Sony's entire output, which movies are the bigger disappointments?

Kraven the Hunter Left a Lot to be Desired...

There have been many great Marvel and DC movies over the years, but it is true that some films missed the mark, though even a few of those who did not succeed still featured exciting fight scenes. Marvel and DC have a bright future ahead. The McU's upcoming movies include a pair of Avengers films, Spider-Man 4, and more. As for DC, James Gunn's DC Universe has films like Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and more on the way.

However, both franchises — and others — have produced a number of projects that did not work quite as expected. From the Spider-Man franchise to the old Dceu to more, both Marvel and DC have had their fair share of films that struggled at the box office or with critics. Kraven the Hunter did not have the reception that Sony Pictures had been hoping for, to say the least. Alessandro Nivola, who played the movie's incarnation of Rhino, has opened up about how the film performed.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Nissola suggested that the issue with Kraven the Hunter that may have contributed to its downfall was perhaps too many people involved with the project behind the scenes. From his own vantage point, the actor had a great time working on the film, so much so that it never occurred to him that there were going to be problems. He also said he didn't check out many reviews about the movie personally, though he'd learned about how a lot of them were giving praise to his performance in the film, even if the reviews were otherwise very negative.

Kraven the Hunter is D.O.A. The newest installment of Sony's Spider-Man Universe has finally made its way to theaters, and its opening has set a new record — but not one Sony was hoping for.

Per Variety, Kraven the Hunter opened with $4.7 million earned from Friday and preview screenings from 3,211 domestic theaters. This sets a new record low for Sony's Marvel movies, performing lower than the $6 million haul garnered by Madame Web earlier this year. The film is projected for a weekend total of around $13 million, which would also be lower than the $15.3 million made during Madame Web's three-day opening weekend. It remains to be seen how much money the film will make by the end of its theatrical run, but at this rate, Kraven the Hunter is not likely to turn a profit, given its $110 million budget.

Before he became Kraven the Hunter in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson had two other comic book roles. He played Dave Lizewski in the 2010 adaptation of Marvel Comics' Kick-Ass, and Pietro Maximoff/ Quicksilver in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

In an interview with IMDb following the most iconic fight sequences in his career so far, Aaron Taylor-Johnson looked back to his time in the MCU and working with Elizabeth Olsen. The two played the Maximoff siblings in the second Avengers film, but Olsen and Taylor-Johnson had also worked together in 2014's Godzilla, where they played husband and wife. Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver died in Age of Ultron and didn't return to the MCU and the actor had a very important question for Olsen.

A UK-Albania co-production is underway in which an Elvis impersonator finds himself in the middle of a war zone.

The UK’s Film and Music Entertainment (F&Me) has joined forces with Albania’s Kkoci Productions and Zagreb’s Propeler Films on Elvis Walks Home, based on an original screenplay by Welsh author Jonathan Preece and directed by Fatmir Koci.

The shoot begins on August 15 in Albania and Bosnia. Us actor Nick Shreli plays the lead role of Mickey, who gets a job entertaining British troops during the 1999 Balkans wars but finds himself in the middle of the battlefield – dressed as Elvis.

Other roles will be taken by Ndricim Xhepa, Amos Zaharia , Dritan Kastrati, Romir Zalla, Ergys Halili, Maradona Kodra.
