Ubisoft has released two games in 2024 so far, Skull and Bones and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and while the former has failed miserably, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics who have loved the return of the popular franchise.
The Lost Crown has been praised by Metroidvania fans and is coined as one of the best games in the genre. The developers have now announced that the game will be getting updates, which include free new content and game modes for players, with the first update coming soon.

While Skull and Bones struggle to retain players, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is getting a huge update.

A quest item named the Key of Kings must be found to open the Palace of King Darius in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The Palace is one of the last locations Sargon needs to visit before the end of the game, but it is impossible to reach without the Key. You'll have to backtrack through past areas you've visited to obtain this important item.
"Find the Key of Kings" is an objective given during your adventure's "Father and Son" main quest. Many sections of the Citadel will have already been explored at this point in Prince of Persia: TLC, but some hidden rooms may still be unexplored. Find Fariba in different regions, so you can buy maps of an area for 50 Time Crystals as you continue to travel around Mount Qaf.

One of the rooms in the Hyrcanian Forest area of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown contains a statue puzzle that can be quite difficult to solve. A riddle provides some clues to arranging three figures in certain directions for a rare reward. Those who interpret this clue correctly can unlock an item used to upgrade Sargon's weapons for their continuing journey throughout the Citadel.
You must have all the time powers available in Prince of Persia: TLC before entering the Pit of Eternal Sands to reach the puzzle. Certain abilities gained with Simurgh Feathers allow you to travel to previously inaccessible sections of the Forest, such as the Soma Tree. The statues lie in a room close to where the Soma Tree and Hyrcanian Forest areas meet in the Citadel.
Simurgh Feathers are rewarded for beating major bosses like Jahandar or for overcoming challenges found in secret rooms scattered across Mount Qaf.

The best tool in Sargon's arsenal in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is an Athra Surge, a strong technique that unleashes the Immortal's channeled spirit into various attacks. These moves all have unique properties designed for different encounters with enemies across the Citadel. However, the limited amount of Surges you can equip makes some abilities better to have than others.
Sargon can have only two Athra Surges equipped at a time, but you can easily switch them out by resting at a Wak-Wak Tree. Similar to how you would change out your best Amulets in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, unlocked Athra abilities can be mixed and matched in a custom loadout of sorts for Sargon. Feel free to experiment with Surge combinations to see which two work best together.

Mount Qaf is more than the latest historical Middle Eastern city to be gloriously reimagined in a Prince of Persia game. As rendered in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, it’s the place in which princes gain recognition as royalty, as well as a now-cursed region that has become unstuck in time. Those who enter—like protagonist Sargon, an elite warrior in search of a kidnapped prince—are trapped in a labyrinth of their past, present, and future. As a result, Mount Qaf is also an apt description of The Lost Crown’s place in the franchise: With nods to the game’s platforming and combat roots, it offers joyful variations on recent Metroidvanias, all while looking to a healthy, innovative future that recognizes this game’s royal credentials in just about every category.

The best upgrades you can get in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown help enhance many of Sargon's items and weapons to deal with the first big challenges faced on Mount Qaf. A particular improvement may change a difficult boss fight into a much easier encounter. Since many upgrades are very cheap toward the start of the game, you may have a hard time choosing one.
Many of the upgrades you can apply to Sargon come from The Mage vendor in The Haven area of the Lower City or from the goddess Kaheva in her Forge. Most enhancements require Time Crystals, the main currency of Prince of Persia: TLC, but some require additional materials. Make sure to explore hidden areas in different zones on your map to earn plenty of Crystals from your travels.

Time Crystals are Mount Qaf's currency in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Time Crystals can buy high-quality gear and amulets. They're also easy to get if you have an adventurous heart and a willingness to explore. However, there are some useful strategies if you need to quickly farm more Time Crystals to afford a particularly interesting amulet or item.
If you explore the world and complete quests, you're sure to collect a lot of Time Crystals. While crystal ore deposits, boss battles, and treasure chests offer plenty of goodies, they don't respawn. This means that the further you get into the game, the fewer Time Crystals you can collect through quests and exploration. Luckily, Sargon has some renewable sources of income available to him.

With Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, developer Ubisoft Montpellier doesn’t exactly take the franchise back to its roots. It’s more of a Metroidvania-style game whereas the original Prince of Persia titles were closer to dungeon-crawler action-adventure titles. Even Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (the 2003 game that formerly revitalized the series) was a 3D action-adventure title that famously added advanced combat and time manipulation to a modified version of the original franchise formula.
Yet, you may still hear a lot of people refer to The Lost Crown as a return to Prince of Persia’s glory days. Is that a simple case of people misremembering the origins of a franchise that has been relatively dormant (or cast in shadow) for quite a long time? In some instances, perhaps it is. The maximum number of health bars Sargon has in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown can be increased when you find special items called Soma Petals scattered across the Citadel. Putting four Petals together forms a flower that makes you able to fight for a longer time during your adventure. However, these artifacts are only found when you overcome great challenges presented in different areas of your map.
Once you reach the Citadel after beating General Uvishka in Prince of Persia: TLC, you will notice that many bosses and enemies will be able to tear through your lackluster starting health easily. You need to collect a total of four Soma Petals to give Sargon an extra life bar. While some of these Petals are given out as rewards, many are locked in hard-to-reach sections of your map until you acquire new abilities.

One of the most important features in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the rare structures that allow you to fast travel between locations, but this system can be tricky to unlock. Unless you are directly looking for fast travel points, they are very easy to miss as you explore. However, there is a clue you can learn about the time curse of Mount Qaf that lets you find these anchor points on your map.
One of the reasons why fast travel is so important comes from how Prince of Persia: TLC's modern Metroidvania map works. As a result, you often have to travel all the way back to safe areas like The Haven hub on foot, and past waves of enemies in different rooms.

The action-packed combat and exploration of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown becomes easier when you equip Amulets to give Sargon their first buffs to aid their journey across Mount Qaf. These items offer a wide range of different abilities and can be upgraded to become even stronger. However, each Amulet takes up a number of slots in your Necklace, which limits how many you may wear at a time.
You have a chance to spend Time Crystals to buy Amulet Holders for your Necklace as you progress through the main quests. This allows Sargon to have more Amulet slots and room for ones that take up more space. The inspiration from the Ori games can be felt through the modifiers activated by each charm you use while discovering new areas.
Every Amulet in the game can be upgraded with the goddess Kaheva in her forge, which you can travel to in The Haven area.

The inspiration from the Ori games can be felt through the modifiers activated by each charm you use while discovering new areas.
Every Amulet in the game can be upgraded with the goddess Kaheva in her forge, which you can travel to in The Haven area.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown offers a simpler and more linear approach to exploration, making it accessible for new players. The story in the game falls short of its potential, with missed opportunities for character development and world-building. The combat system and abilities of the protagonist, Sargon, are enjoyable and allow for unique playstyles, but the parry system and super moves could use improvement to maintain balance and interest.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the latest installment in the Prince of Persia franchise from publisher and developer Ubisoft. Since the original Prince of Persia game release in 1989, the franchise has covered a variety of storylines, and the newest iteration provides a fresh perspective once again.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown aims to combine beloved core facets with fresh gameplay and a unique soundtrack. Composer Gareth Coker discusses the process of creating character themes and the intense style of music for the game. The game strikes a balance between something fresh and something familiar, with a soundtrack that enhances the immersive experience.
The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the first mainline entry the franchise has seen in over a decade, and it aims to combine the series' beloved core facets with a fresh take on gameplay. Both developed and published by Ubisoft, the release was first officially announced during last year's Summer Game Fest. The title draws influence from sidescrollers and Metroidvanias, following warrior protagonist Sargon and his clan, known as The Immortals.
The upcoming game will shake things up not just in terms of gameplay, but in its soundtrack as well, deriving...

Even though there is a remake of the classic and adored Sands of Time in development, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the next installment in Ubisoft’s popular franchise and may shake things up for the series in a very positive manner. This is a brand-new title that is not directly connected to previous installments and the first major release in the franchise since 2010’s Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. The Lost Crown is a 2.5D platformer game that leans into the more classic Prince of Persia experience rather than the third-person perspective that was offered by the last release.
Instead of telling the tale of the unnamed Prince, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown follows the story of Sargon, a warrior who is part of a clan known as The Immortals.

In the final episode of the second season of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds," called "Hegemony," audiences were introduced to a young Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, played by actor Martin Quinn. Scotty was, of course, the chief engineer on the starship Enterprise in the original "Star Trek," and was played by actor James Doohan. In a truly novel casting twist, however, Quinn is actually from Scotland, having grown up in the Gallowhill area of Paisley. Doohan was Canadian, affecting a broad Scottish dialect for the role. Simon Pegg, who played Scotty in the notorious Kelvin timeline movies, is from Gloucestershire in England. His Scots accent was a little better.
For many American and Canadian viewers of the original "Star Trek," Doohan's Scottish brogue was taken as 100% accurate. One can only assume none of them had met an actual Scot, however, as reports from the Isles describe Doohan's accent as pretty unilaterally...
