He's landed yet another Top Gun: Maverick star, Monica Barbaro, alongside Masters of the Air alum Callum Turner to lead the new romantic feature One Night Only for Universal, per a new report by Deadline. The project comes at the end of a long search for Gluck's big follow-up to his $220.3 million success, which premiered back in 2023 and helped launch both its leads into new levels of superstardom. In addition to the hot new couple, it was also announced that the film will hit theaters in just under a year on August 7, 2026.

One Night Only is not another Shakespeare adaptation, but it is based on a script by Travis Braun that topped the 2024 Black List.

Got Talent producer Fremantle has seen its half-year revenue fall 5.4%, as parent Rtl posted a mixed interim results in which streaming shone but sales and profits fell.

Fremantle’s revenue for H1 came in at €905M ($1.05B), down from €957M for the same period a year ago. This was attributed to lower revenue from the U.S. and “phasing effects,” and was partially offset by bringing Asacha Media Group into the fold.

Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, a middle school teacher who finds himself in outer space and tasked with saving humanity.

The footage opens with Gosling as he awakens on an apparent spaceship with a substantial beard and deals with robot assistants. British actor Micheal Ward, star of Top Boy and more recently, Ari Aster’s Cannes-debuting film Eddington, has been charged with rape.

London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed on Friday that the 27-year-old actor from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault. The offences relate to one woman, the force added, and are reported to have taken place in January 2023.

Ward will appear at Thames Magistrates Court in London on Thursday, Aug. 28.

“Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward,” said detective superintendent Scott Ware, whose team is leading the Met’s investigation. “We know investigations of this nature can have significant impact on those who make reports.”

Ari Aster‘s latest movie, Eddington, is now in theaters and is arguably his most controversial work yet. It received mixed reviews from critics and currently holds a 68% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
