Arnold Schwarzenegger Makes Long-Awaited Predator Return In New Killer Of Killers Extended Ending
Image
Predator: Killer of Killers is an animated anthology movie that introduces Ursa, Kenji, and Torres, three warriors who hail from three distinct moments in history. Ursa is a Viking, Kenji is a ninja in feudal Japan, and Torres is a World War II pilot.

After each of them survives encounters with the Yautja, we learn that they were taken from Earth and placed in suspended animation by the alien warriors. They're woken up by the "Grendel King," the apparent leader of the Predators, who forces them to do battle before he faces the victor.

With Predator: Killer of Killers, filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg finally explained why the Yautja go on these hunts. Whether it's to track humans or their fellow aliens, the endgame seems to be testing the species they consider beneath them and then battling those they deem worthy in the name of honour and entertainment.

In the movie's closing moments,...

10 Star Trek: Voyager Episodes That Have Aged Way Better Than the Show
Image
Star Trek: Voyager was part of the golden age of the franchise, with shows like Tng and Deep Space Nine having phenomenal runs. All three shows lasted seven seasons and were historic in their own way, taking the franchise to a whole new level. Voyager was historic due to its focus on Captain Janeway, the first female captain to lead a Star Trek show.

Despite being filmed in the ‘90s and early 2000s, Voyager’s episode surprisingly holds up to today’s climate. Continuing the tradition of using the sci-fi genre to ask profound questions about the human experience, Voyager’s seven seasons provided commentary on many sociopolitical themes, which are still surprisingly relevant.

History is written by the victor, and this theme has been explored best by the Star Trek: Voyager episode, Living Witness. Set in a...

Is Arienne Mandi’s New Character the Shake-Up Chicago Pd Needs?
Image
Brace yourselves, One Chicago Fanatics.

There’s new blood clocking in for a shift on Chicago Pd, and she promises to be a fiery addition to Intelligence.

The thirteenth season will see a fresh face when The Night Agent‘s Arienne Mandi joins the show as a series regular, rounding off the Intelligence Unit.

(Christopher Saunders/Netflix)

If you’ve been following along, it feels like a revolving door of character exits and cast departures within the Dick Wolf Universe across two networks and three franchises. You’d know that, much to our chagrin, Toya Turner departed the series after one season as Kiana Cook.

We still lack clarity regarding the abrupt exit with no proper sendoff. It could be anything from more cost-cutting measures to the ever-elusive “creative decision.”

The Gringo Hunters Review: Strong Characters Lost in a Fractured Plot
Image
For decades, American television has presented a familiar story: determined U.S. agents venturing into Mexico to pursue criminals. The Gringo Hunters takes that well-worn template and turns it on its head. Set in Tijuana, the series follows the International Liaison Unit, an elite Mexican police squad whose specialty is tracking and deporting American fugitives who have fled south to escape justice.

This is not just a clever narrative inversion; it is a premise grounded in the real world, drawn from a 2022 Washington Post article that documented the work of the actual unit. The show quickly establishes its procedural rhythm, but that foundation is shattered by a single event: the murder of the unit’s respected commander, Temo.

His death pulls the series out of a simple case-of-the-week format and plunges his protégé, Nico, into a conspiracy that official channels want left undisturbed. The central question shifts from “Who are they hunting this week?...

Why Gina Torres Left Suits After Six Seasons
Image
There are many reasons for an actor to leave a popular show or an interesting project. Charle Barnett's Peter Mills was written out of "Chicago Fire" to make room for other characters. Barbie Ferreira left "Euphoria" because her character Kat Hernandez had limited storyline options left.

Sometimes, the departure of a star whom fans saw as key to a show's popularity might be a simple contract issue. For instance, Regé-Jean Page's Simon Basset left "Bridgerton" simply because his contract was up and the esteemed Duke of Hastings opted to go explore other things. A similar thing happened with Gina Torres, who starred in the USA Network legal drama "Suits" as Jessica Pearson for six seasons before departing the show in 2016. In an interview with The New York Times, Torres confirmed that her exit was the simple matter of her contract ending:

"My contract was up, so this wasn't a...

‘The Pitt’ Star, 49, Praises His “Joyful” Time on ‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 12
Image
Chicago P.D. Season 12 cranked up the heat for Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) with the introduction of a new antagonist to handle. To help fulfill that role, in came Deputy Chief Charlie Reid, played by Shawn Hatosy. A cunning and calculated operator, Reid is a dirty cop who blackmails colleagues into doing his bidding and, for much of Season 12, he had Voight and his Intelligence Unit on the ropes. However, the strings of the puppet master were snapped when, in the Season 12 finale, Voight sanctions a hit on Reid with Reid shot and killed by Rennie Otero. The war between Voight and Reid was a drawn-out, protracted conflict, which could still have ramifications for Voight and his team when the show returns in the fall.

Voight's decision to orchestrate Reid's murder ultimately has him coloring outside the lines far more than he normally would. His decision is questioned by the sergeant's love interest,...

“I’ve Evolved”: ‘Chicago P.D.’ Star, 35, Reacts to Their Shocking Exit
Image
After one short season, Intelligence's latest addition is leaving the unit in the upcoming season of Chicago P.D.. Toya Turner, who played the newest recruit Kiana Cook, is leaving the show, as previously revealed. Her departure is surprising, given the character's brief tenure. Cook was brought in to fill the space left by Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and Halstead's (Jesse Lee Soffer) departures in previous seasons. It appears that the show will need to find someone else to fill in that space once again. Chicago P.D. was Turner's first series regular role on a network drama. The actress took to her social media pages to bid farewell to fans and express her gratitude for the time spent on the Chicago P.D. set. She shared an image carousel in an Instagram post, highlighting some moments from the experience. The post's caption reads:

My time on Chicago P.D. has come to a close.

Is Benjamin Levy Aguilar the Reason Toya Turner Might Leave Chicago P.D.? Details Inside
Image
Everybody’s got a secret… theirs just comes with a badge. That’s how we’d sum up Chicago P.D., and today, it applies doubly to Toya Turner, who’s reportedly exited the crime procedural ahead of Season 13. While NBC has zipped its lips on the reason, Turner issued a graceful goodbye.

Her short but searing arc added depth to the show’s tough-as-nails tone, yet her abrupt exit, amid emotional subplots and onscreen chemistry, raises more questions than answers. Who pulled the plug? Why now? And what happens to that simmering tension with Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar)?

What’s the Point of Getting Attached? Toya Turner’s Exit Hits Chicago Pd (and Us) Where It Hurts
Image
What are we even doing here, One Chicago?

It was hard enough to swallow the news that NBC sacrificed several quality series for an NBA deal this fall. But now, after enduring an endless carousel of cast changes across the franchise, we’re losing Toya Turner. Frankly, I’m angry and tired.

According to Deadline, Turner has exited Chicago Pd ahead of its upcoming (and already unlucky) Season 13. We don’t know the reason — whether it was her decision, another opportunity, or more cost-cutting measures. Whatever the case, it’s a loss that stings more than most.

(Elizabeth Sisson/NBC)

Unfortunately, this isn’t a new phenomenon. Dick Wolf’s procedurals are infamous for treating cast members like revolving doors — come in, shake things up, leave just as we’re getting attached.

The cast turnover for many of these coveted procedurals is so common it’s enough to give a person whiplash.

The Best Albums of 2025 … So Far
Image
With artists like Charli Xcx, Beyoncé, and Billie Eilish setting the bar high early on in 2024, last year was one for the books. And 2025 is looking to keep up the pace, with FKA twigs’s sensuous—and, yes, sensual—Eusexua coming on strong just weeks into the new year, followed by a slew of albums that are, at turns, ambitious, introspective, and bold, from Jason Isbell’s deeply personal Foxes in the Snow to Japanese Breakfast’s pointedly titled For Melancholy Brunettes (& Sad Women).

Elsewhere, New York rapper Billy Woods and British noise rockers Benefits have painted grim portraits of the techno nightmare that society seems intent on spiraling further into. But that’s not to say there wasn’t joy or escape to be found in this year’s music landscape so far: TikToker turned pop singer Addison Rae’s self-titled debut has turned out to be an unexpected guiltless pleasure,...

Why this insane story is the worst Star Trek: Voyager episode ever!
Image
There have been a lot of poor episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, but one in particular stands apart as one of the worst Trek episodes ever! Which one is it and why is it so bad?

Star Trek: Voyager has a tricky place in Trek canon. Many loved the tale of a Starfleet and Maquis crew thrust halfway across the universe and trying to get back to Earth. It gave us great characters: Janeway, Chakotay, Tom Paris, Torres, Seven of Nine, and the holographic Doctor. At its best, Voyager could have some great stuff for Trek fans.

Of course, there were low points for the series. Some story arcs didn’t click, characters got short shrift, and there were several bad episodes. However, one episode in particular has to stand out as one of the most amazingly awful tales ever created for any Star Trek series.

“Threshold.”

How bad is this episode?...

Watch The Hollywood Reporter’s Full, Uncensored Comedy Actor Roundtable
Image
Stick the stars of six top comedies around a table for an hour, and it becomes increasingly impossible to keep composure. At least, that was the case for The Hollywood Reporter’s latest Comedy Actor Emmy roundtable, featuring Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Ted Danson (A Man on the Inside), John Mulaney (Everybody’s Live), Seth Rogen (The Studio), Jason Segel (Shrinking) and Julio Torres (Fantasmas).

The rollicking conversation hit on topics as far ranging as the ways in which they’ve been typecast — the schlubby stoner type (Rogen), the confident nerd (Brody), the “soulless wooden boy who’s fast on his feet” (Mulaney) — to the “dream roles” they didn’t land. (Spoiler: Brody fought hard for Blues Clues.) They also talked in earnest about the most challenging period in their careers and swapped tales about the most baffling creative notes they’ve ever received.

At one point, the six...

Could Olinsky Have Saved Chief Reid in ‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 12? Showrunner Weighs In
Image
Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas) was among the original set of officers that populated the Intelligence Unit in the Dick Wolf police procedural drama, Chicago P.D. Old-school, just like Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), the pair seemed to understand one another deeply, and together they knew just how much of the law to bend to obtain justice. Season 12 of the series saw Voight square up against the cunning Deputy Chief Reid (Shawn Hatosy), who sought with all his might to bring down Voight and his team. Just like with several others who came before, he loses and Voight wins, doing so by sanctioning the shooting that claims his life. While there were failed attempts to dissuade Voight from making his plans, series showrunner Gwen Sigan believes that Voight's old pal, Olinsky, would have gotten through to him, preventing the death of the deputy chief.

The Beautiful, Brutal Action of ‘Predator: Killer of Killers’
Image
For director Dan Trachtenberg, “Prey” was only the beginning in time-jumping the “Predator” franchise back to the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. With “Predator: Killer of Killers,” Trachtenberg not only embraces animation for the first time but also expands the time-jumping motif in an anthology film that spans Scandinavia in 841, feudal Japan in 1609, and the Battle of the Atlantic in 1942.

This means Predators fighting Vikings, samurai, and ninja, and World War II fighter pilots. The surviving humans then compete gladiator-style on the Predator planet, eventually going up against the titular “Killer of Killers” Yautja.

“It was really a pleasure to experiment and find crazy notions and ideas, and then let them literally just be that way,” Trachtenberg told IndieWire. “ It was pure indulgence. And, of course, marrying that with stories that are really emotional and intense, and characters that are facing conflicts before the Predator even shows up.”

In “The Shield,...

What’s So Funny? The Comedy Actor Roundtable With Seth Rogen, Adam Brody and John Mulaney

Sit six uniquely hilarious men around a table for an hour and simply try not to laugh. That proved an impossible task in early May, as Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Ted Danson (A Man on the Inside), John Mulaney (Everybody’s Live), Seth Rogen (The Studio), Jason Segel (Shrinking) and Julio Torres (Fantasmas) assembled for THR‘s Comedy Actor Emmy Roundtable. In fact, the sextet was regularly in stitches as the conversation moved from shocking exec notes to industry expectations and the projects that got away.

'The Sickest Call I've Ever Received': How Avengers: Doomsday Will Make MCU History
Image
As anticipation for Avengers: Doomsday builds, fans can already look forward to the film making one significant piece of history when it hits theaters next year. The historic moment surrounds star Danny Ramirez, whose Falcon is set to achieve a first in the Avengers sequel following his appearance in Captain America: Brave New World.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Ramirez recalled receiving the "sickest call of my life" from Marvel to become the new Falcon, with his character, Joaquin Torres, succeeding Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson as the airborne hero. According to Ramirez, the decision to make Torres Wilson's first Avenger meant everything to him. "I was told, 'Hey, we've been traveling all over the world, and they're always asking, "When's the first Latino Avenger coming? When's the first Latino Avenger coming?", and we're happy that we're making that call right now, and he's here'," Ramirez warmly recalled. "It was the sickest call I've ever received.

‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Review: A Violent and Visually Stunning Animated Anthology Film
Image
This year, 20th Century Studios gives us not one but two Predator movies, beginning with the animated anthology film Predator: Killer of Killers co-directed by Prey’s Dan Trachtenberg and Joshua Wassung. The latter marks his feature-length directorial debut after cutting his teeth making a short film and handling visualizations for movies like Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and It: Chapter Two.

The anthology film covers three stories in different timelines, tracing way back to the Viking era in 841 Ad subtitled The Shield as we are introduced to an angry, middle-aged Norse warrior queen Ursa (voiced by Lindsay Lavanchy). She’s on the quest for vengeance to take down her enemy but her mission is somehow interrupted after a Predator appears, forcing her to re-direct her attention to the otherworldly invader. This leads to a bloody fight against the more advanced Predator while trying her best to protect her son, Anders (Damien Haas...

‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Directors on That Prop Cameo & Bringing Michael Biehn into the Franchise [Interview]
Image
Predator: Killer of Killers, the original animated anthology from co-directors Dan Trachtenberg (Prey) & Joshua Wassung, pits new characters across time against the mighty Yautja. It also features a few callbacks to the Predator franchise and beyond.

The film, now streaming on Hulu, follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause.

It’s the third segment, the 1941-set “Bullet,” that brings the film closer to the familiar Predator timeline.

The segment introduces Torres (Rick Gonzalez), a young car mechanic drafted into the war as a fighter pilot. It makes him uniquely suited to notice something deeply amiss during an intense dogfight. Torres...

Predator: Killer Of Killers Is A Spiritual Sequel To The Franchise's Most Underrated Movie
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Predator: Killer of Killers."

"Predator" franchise luminary Dan Trachtenberg has graced Hulu with his first film in the series since the brilliant "Prey" (2019). Trachtenberg's previous Yautja outing redefined the wayward franchise and provided endless opportunities for its suddenly bright future, and his newest project, Hulu's animated "Predator: Killer of Killers," embraces those opportunities to the maximum.

"Predator: Killer of Killers," from Trachtenberg, co-director Joshua Wassung, and co-writer Micho Robert Rutare ("Z Nation"), is an anthology film that explores the stories of three Yautja hunters who stalk particularly skilled humans in three time periods: the 9th century Viking Ursa (Lindsay Lavanchy), two 17th century ninja and samurai brothers (both voiced by Louis Ozawa), and the aspiring World War II pilot Torres (Rick Gonzales). The three timelines eventually converge into a finale that ties the entire story together, as well as makes a key revelation about the...

Predator: Killer Of Killers Has A Valuable Lesson For Another Classic Sci-Fi Horror Franchise
Image
2025 really is a great year for "Predator" fans. Not only are we set to see another live-action instalment from Dan Trachtenberg with "Predator: Badlands" but the "Prey" director has casually dropped an animated film that's unquestionably one for the history books (co-directed by Joshua Wassung).

Throwing less of a curveball and more of a killer frisbee at the franchise, "Predator: Killer of Killers" tees up a compelling anthology to begin with, only for it to surprise us in its final act and reveal we've been watching one story that spans centuries. Breaking through the language barrier and anything else that the Yautja throw at them, our hunted heroes unite in a final battle that is as awesome as everything we've seen in the time-shifting tale so far, and sets the bar not just for the franchise that started all the way back in 1987, but another breed of space beasts that...

Nathan Fillion's Firefly Co-Star Addresses Potential The Rookie Return
Image
Nathan Fillion’s former Firefly co-star, Alan Tudyk, has opened up about his potential return to The Rookie. First joining Fillion as Hoban "Wash" Washburne, the pilot of the spaceship Serenity, Tudyk would regularly reunite with his co-star for several projects following Firefly’s cancellation. In 2019, Tudyk appeared as the socially inept crime scene cleaner Ellroy Basso in The Rookie season 1, a role that he would later reprise for 2022’s climactic season 4 finale, which saw Basso pulled into a dramatic shootout at the hybrid rural police station and diner at the border town of Frontera.

Speaking with Screen Rant at the black carpet event for Resident Alien season 4, Tudyk revealed whether he might be likely to return as Ellroy for a future appearance alongside Fillion's Nolan in The Rookie. Enthusiastic about the prospect of returning as Ellroy, Tudyk suggested that he would happily return if the show’s writers can...

Predator: Killer of Killers Ending Sets Up Prey 2 And Predator: Badlands
Image
So, Predator: Killer of Killers is not the throwaway anthology film we all thought it was. Surprise! The trailers sold us three separate little tales. Vikings, Samurai, and a WWII pilot facing off against Yautja warriors in different eras, right? It looked like a fun side quest. But as it turns out, Killer of Killers is a massive pivot for the franchise, potentially the most important Predator film since the original. The first twist is that the three stories aren’t standalone at all. They’re chapters in one larger story. Ursa (the Viking), Kenji (the Samurai), and Torres (the WWII pilot) have something big in common: each of them managed to kill a Predator. And the Yautja are not pleased. Or maybe they are. It’s kind of hard to tell really. The fourth act is Predator: Killer of Killers’ secret weapon. Suddenly, we’re yanked into a galactic prison transport,...

Predator: Killer of Killers ending explained (and what it means for Prey and Predator: Badlands)
Image
Today, Hulu dropped Predator: Killer of Killers, its new animated Predator movie from the mind of Prey director Dan Trachtenberg. Killer of Killers is an anthology film that explores three different time periods where a Predator came to Earth to hunt down the most dangerous humans it could find: the Viking age, feudal Japan, and World War II.

As with Prey, Trachtenberg knocked it out of the park. Killer of Killers is a fresh take on the Predator formula that not only leans on established ideas but introduces some serious twists and turns that change things up. At the end of the film, we get a shocking series of events that have major ramifications not just for Trachtenberg's next movie Predator: Badlands, but also for the ending of Prey.

Full Spoilers for Predator: Killer of Killers and Prey beyond this point.

Masterpieces & Misfires: Chicago Pd Season 12’s Near-Perfect Run Stumbles at Finish Line
Image
It may sound redundant by now, but Chicago Pd Season 12 delivered its most balanced, emotionally resonant storytelling in years.

From bold cinematography and risks to complex character arcs, the show proved it still has grit and heart, and that the key to what makes this series so great is the bond amongst a strong, united team.

However, while it soared in many ways, the finale missed key emotional beats that fans had waited over a decade to see, and there were some misfires along the way.

If you checked out our Chicago Pd Season 12 Midseason Report Card, you’ll know what some of our thoughts are regarding the first half of the season. But now, we’re addressing it all.

Predator: Killer Of Killers Ending Explained And What It Means For Prey And Predator: Badlands - Spoilers
Image
This article was originally published on SFFGazette.com.

In Predator: Killer of Killers, we're introduced to Ursa, Kenji, and Torres, three warriors who hail from three distinct time periods. Ursa is a Viking, Kenji is a ninja in feudal Japan, and Torres is a World War II pilot.

After each of them is shown to have survived encounters with the Yautja, we learn that they were taken from Earth and placed in suspended animation by the alien warriors. They're woken up by the "Grendel King," the apparent leader of the Predators, who forces them to do battle before he faces the victor.

They ultimately decide to work together and form an escape plan; Ursa ultimately stays behind, and Kenji and Torres escape in a spaceship with the Yautja army in hot pursuit.

With Predator: Killer of Killers, filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg has finally explained why the Yautja go on these hunts.

The Predator: Killer Of Killers Post-Credits Scene Teases A Sequel That Every Fan Wants To See
Image
If it bleeds, we can post major spoilers about it. Read on only after watching "Predator: Killer of Killers."

This was supposed to be a year with just one highly-anticipated "Predator" movie on the docket but, in a welcome surprise, fate has delivered us two. The first, "Killer of Killers," seemed like a small (but appealing) appetizer to the main course: "Predator: Badlands." The upcoming live-action blockbuster certainly has the novelty factor going for it, marking the first instance in franchise history where a fearsome Yautja will actually be the protagonist of the film. But, not to be overlooked, the animated anthology film "Killer of Killers" has come out of the gate strong and instantly established itself as one of the best in the entire series. Now, it's fair to say that fans are looking forward to even more where that came from.

Luckily, "Killer of Killers" is well aware of that fact,...

Review: Animated Predator Anthology Killer Of Killers is a Violent Treat
Image
The Predator franchise's Achilles' heel has long been storytelling. "Hunt, kill, repeat" sounds like a doable premise to redeliver, and yet entries like Predators and The Predator beg to differ. That's the beauty of Dan Trachtenberg's not-so-secret Predator: Killer of Killers, an animated anthology of rad-as-hell Predator deathmatches. Strip away exposition, pick some eras, and unleash Predators on warriors throughout time—it's that simple. Prey was just an appetizer for the sci-fi combat carnage that Killer of Killers successfully delivers.

Trachtenberg and co-writer Micho Robert Rutare unleash Yautja hunters on historical periods where warfare reigned supreme. Viking raiders led by Ursa (Lindsay Lavanchy) in 841 A.D., ninja brothers Kenji & Kiyoshi (Louis Ozawa) in 1600s feudal Japan, and an Allied WWII pilot tagged Torres (Rick Gonzalez) all face Predator foes. Each chapter is a fight for survival tied into a conspicuous wraparound that reminds of Predators—“The Shield,” “The Sword,...

Predator: Killer of Killers (2025) Movie Review: Gory, Pulpy Anthology Perfectly Captures the Ethos of the Franchise
Image
My belief about “Predator” as a franchise—and there is nothing original about this belief, just a result-oriented outlook at what is working—is that the ideal “Predator” movie starts as an entirely different genre film before the Predator interrupts the proceedings or operates in the fringes of the setting before it reveals itself and hijacks the setting, transmuting the genre. The Yautja (finally canonized to be the true name of the Predator species) codex, which opens this film, highlights how the Predator’s enjoyment of the hunt across the galaxy depends upon its choosing the strongest of its prey.

That statement invariably postulates questions that can be asked either in playgrounds or in nerding-out sessions: Who is stronger? Is it a Predator or a Samurai? Is it a Predator or a Viking? Even if those questions become boilerplate, the ethos should be how cool a battle sequence would look...

Predator: Killer of Killers Review: Three Portraits of Prey
Image
The cosmos casts its indifferent gaze upon human history and finds its reflection not in our monuments or poetry, but in our agents of destruction. A Viking warrior, a feudal Japanese swordsman, and a pilot from the last great war—each a pinnacle of lethality in their own age—are summoned from the timeline.

They are not heroes chosen to save, but killers selected to be killed. This animated anthology, born from the same creative mind that gave us Prey, continues that film’s stripping away of modern artifice. It seeks the raw substance of the hunt in different epochs of human conflict.

The film presents a triptych of slaughter, three distinct chronicles of violence that eventually bleed into a single, harrowing finale on a hostile world. The structure itself feels ritualistic, an offering of our most proficient fighters to a force that sees their skill only as a challenge.

Predator: Killer of Killers Review: This animated anthology is the best sequel in the franchise
Image
Plot: The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.

Review: In 2022, 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg reinvigorated the Predator franchise with the 18th-century-set Prey. By shifting the setting and protagonists away from a contemporary or future setting focused on the military, Prey focused on the alien race of predators and boosted the franchise in a new direction. With Trachtenberg’s next film, Predator: Badlands, hitting the big screen in November, his secret animated project,...

Predator: Killer of Killers is the most original movie in the Predator franchise (Review)
Image
The new animated Predator movie Predator: Killer of Killers is not what you're expecting. The second movie in the franchise from Prey director Dan Trachtenberg contains a number of notable firsts for the series, pushing it into new and exciting waters. It's the first animated Predator movie. It's also the first to break successfully from the tried-and-true formula that almost every single previous film has followed, where a human is hunted by a Predator seeking the most dangerous prey it can find on the planet Earth. Yes, it has that...but it also has so much more. And of course, it's the first time we see a Predator on the hunt in settings such as the Viking age, feudal Japan, and World War II Europe.

I've seen Predator: Killer of Killers and have been dying to discuss it. I'm going to be keeping this review spoiler-free, so that you can...

‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Review – Gorgeous Animation Meets Gory Action
Image
Prey director Dan Trachtenberg finds an inventive way to expand the Predator universe further in Predator: Killer of Killers with co-director Josh Wassung from animation company The Third Floor. The three-part animated anthology boasts stunning Arcane-inspired animation and a commitment to gory action in its bid to explore lethal brawls with the Yautja throughout time, revealing a deep well of potential for the franchise in the process. Killer of Killers functions as a standalone feature, but Trachtenberg continues to push the universe forward in exciting ways.

Killer of Killers begins in 841 Ad, in a story titled “Shield,” where shield-maiden Ursa’s (Lindsay Lavanchy) quest for vengeance is well underway amidst harsh winter terrain. A primal battle between two Viking tribes turns into an all-out bloodbath when the feud is interrupted by the arrival of a Predator eager to join the hunt. That pattern, in which a Predator interrupts human combat,...

‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Review: Thrillingly Transcending History…and the World
Image
Dan Trachtenberg and Joshua Wassung’s Predator: Killer of Killers is just as quick and efficient as the Predators themselves, giving you just enough context around its human characters and how they end up in the monsters’ infrared sights. Specifically, the film tells three stories spanning centuries of hostile extraterrestrial sojourns by Predators—the Yautja, if you’re nasty—to our fragile blue world, thrillingly expanding the series universe.

The first story centers around Ursa (Lindsay Lavanchy), a Viking chieftain trekking halfway across the planet on a bloody revenge tour that catches the attention of a different type of warrior. The second focuses on Kenji (Louis Ozawa), a samurai whose fateful duel with his ninja brother, Kiyoshi (also voiced by Ozawa), gets some extraterrestrial interference. And the third concerns Torres (Rick Gonzalez), a Latino plane mechanic during World War II who takes to the skies when an Allied squadron meets...

‘NCIS’ Season 23 Will Be “Character-Forward” in a Way Fans “Haven’t Seen Before”
Image
NCIS returns for an impressive 23rd season this Fall, and it will feature a slight shift. Instead of diving into cases, the season will largely focus on what makes the team what it is — the characters. Showrunner Steven D. Binder told TV Line that characters will be explored in a way they haven't been in a long time, which is great news for fans of various team members. "We really want to get to everybody in a big way." he said. This decision is partially inspired by a recurring complaint where characters have been sidelined in favor of cases. Binder has heard these criticisms and the show will change to accommodate them in Season 23. He explained:

"I know people always say, ‘I watch the show for the characters’ — that was always our thing — and I really want to make this a character-forward show in a way we haven’t seen before.

‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Exclusive Clip Takes the Hunt to the Sky in WW2 Dogfight
Image
The classic action-horror franchise is getting its first animated installment this Friday with the anthology movie Predator: Killer of Killers, and we’ve got an exclusive clip that drops a Yautja hunt in the middle of a WW2 dogfight.

Predator: Killer of Killers begins the hunt on Hulu on June 6.

Check out the clip below, titled “Stay In Your Lane,” in which dogfighter Torres (Rick Gonzalez) takes the lead once a strange new enemy enters the fight. If you listen closely, you can hear Aliens actor Michael Biehn‘s voice as his character doles out orders.

Co-Director Dan Trachtenberg previously said of his original animated feature, “Thematically, all segments are driven by a simple question: ‘Who would be a unique challenge for the Predator?'” That certainly appears to be the case; this anthology is unleashing a Predator aerial battle.

The original animated action-adventure film follows three of the fiercest...

Sean Combs’ Accuser Thalia Graves Wins Fight to Dismiss Bodyguard’s Defamation Suit
Image
A staggering $100 million defamation lawsuit that was filed against Sean Combs’ accuser Thalia Graves by her alleged rapist was dismissed Monday, with a U.S. District Judge ruling the suit contained several “patently frivolous claims.”

Thalia Graves brought her suit against Combs and ex-bodyguard Joseph Sherman in September 2024, days after the hip-hop mogul was arrested and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering. She claimed that Combs and Sherman drugged her, bound her wrists, and raped her at Combs’ recording studio Daddy’s House in 2001. She also said they recorded the alleged rape,...

“That Made Me Sad”: ’Chicago P.D.’s Kim Burgess Actress Reveals the One Thing She Hopes Future Seasons Will Rectify
Image
Strong friendships have been born in Chicago P.D. throughout the years, as some duos feature great chemistry. However, some characters barely interact outside of work. While Kim (Marina Squerciati) is a great asset to the team, she hasn't been lucky with friendships, especially with other female characters. Squerciati hopes that the show will address this issue in the coming seasons, especially with the addition of a new female character to the team. "I didn’t get a relationship with Tracy [Spiridakos]. I have talked about that in the press. That made me sad," she told Deadline at the Atx TV Festival. "I would love to see a female relationship blossom on this show. I really love Toya [Turner], and she’s a fresh voice on the show. I also feel like [Kim is] a bit of a mentor to Cook (Turner), and I’d love to see that grow as well," Squerciati added.

“You mean the emperor doesn’t rule over just 15 people”: Unreal Engine 5 Reimagining of Oblivion’s Imperial City Is Jaw-Dropping
Image
Sometimes, a single video can completely shatter your perception of a beloved game world. That’s exactly what happened when 3D artist L. Torres decided to show everyone what The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would look like if the Imperial City actually matched its lore-described grandeur.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect. With Bethesda’s surprise Oblivion remaster dropping last month, nostalgia for Cyrodiil runs higher than a skooma addict’s tolerance levels.

But this Unreal Engine 5 recreation makes even the polished remaster look quaint by comparison.

When lore meets reality and breaks your brain

Torres’ cinematic recreation doesn’t just upgrade textures—it completely reimagines what an imperial capital should actually look like. The 16-second clip (full video here) showcases a city that could realistically house a million citizens instead of the dozen NPCs who apparently ran the entire Septim Empire between mudcrab conversations.
