After "Sushi Glory Hole," The Lonely Island Reveals There Are a Lot More Songs in the Pipeline [Exclusive]
Image
It’s been a landmark year for Saturday Night Live — and for the trio that redefined what digital shorts could be. While promoting his upcoming film The Naked Gun, director Akiva Schaffer sat down with Collider’s Steve Weintraub to talk about the future of The Lonely Island, the surprise return of their musical comedy to SNL, and the now-infamous short “Sushi Glory Hole.” That short, which aired during SNL’s 50th anniversary season, marked the trio’s first official SNL short in five years. But surprisingly, Schaffer says no one had brought it up during the Naked Gun press tour until now.

“I’ve been doing press for Naked Gun for, like, this whole week, and I kept thinking somebody was going to bring it up because it's the last thing I did besides this, and you are somehow the first person. So, thank you, because I'd love to talk about "Sushi Glory Hole,...

Stephen Colbert’s Kamala Harris Interview Brought Together Two Beleaguered Symbols of Embattled Institutions
Image
To announce that she would not be running for any public office — including governor of California, a race she had already declined to enter in a written statement — Kamala Harris chose a fitting venue. The former Vice President gave her first major televised interview since losing last year’s presidential election to Stephen Colbert, a man who can likely relate to her current situation. Both Harris and Colbert are exiting their prominent positions of influence, not entirely of their own volition. And both leave the helm of once-enduring institutions that seem to be crumbling behind them. The politician and the entertainer will both be just fine on their own, a fact it was hard to deny as Harris dedicated the bulk of the conversation to promoting an upcoming memoir, not sounding the alarm on injustice. It’s the systems they’re a face of that deserve our concern.

Colbert is,...

Stephen Colbert’s Big Interview with Kamala Harris Shows Neither Can Change
Image
I’d like to think I’m past the point where the 2024 presidential election can break my spirit. There’s no room to lament about the losers. But here we are, seven months into 2025, and I’m filled with a hollow rage and a familiar disappointment as I sit through an interview that feels entirely disconnected from the urgency of our reality. And hey, I’m not so naive that I believe that Stephen Colbert and former Vice President Kamala Harris can save us from Trump or even have the desire to do so. It’s just so irritating to be reminded of how incapable of it they are — like during tonight’s 30-minute campaign/book ad.

On Thursday night, Harris made a historic appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It was her first interview since she left office in January. She was there to promote her book...

Kamala Harris Opens Up About Next Political Chapter: “I Don’t Want to Go Back in the System. I Think It’s Broken”
Image
During her Thursday night appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Kamala Harris explained her decision to not run for California governor next year, and her plan to steer clear from politics for now.

“Listen, I am a devout public servant. I have spent my entire career in service of the people. I thought a lot about running for governor. I love my state, I love California,” the former vice president said. “Recently I made the decision that I just, for now, I don’t want to go back in the system. I think it’s broken.”

Harris continued that while she “always believed that as fragile as our democracy is, our systems would be strong enough to defend our most fundamental principles, and I think right now that they’re not as strong as they need to be.”

On Wednesday, Harris announced that she would not be running...

Greg Gutfeld Wants to Know Who the Asshole Is
Image
The downside of onomatopoeia is displayed on Fox News’ Gutfeld! a show that is exactly as it sounds, a sucker punch in the no-fly zone from a 60-year-old troll that leaves you projectile vomiting Corn Pops onto your flatscreen.

And that’s on a good night.

On the bad ones, Greg Gutfeld bombs his monologue before a handpicked home crowd with shopworn references to Kamala Harris’ drinking, Chris Christie’s weight, Rashida Tlaib’s purported facial hair, and quipping that “many people believe that Kathy Griffin is really Carrot Top with AIDS.

‘SNL’s’ 50th season takes on 9-time-champ ‘Last Week Tonight’ for the Best Scripted Variety Series Emmy
Image
When Last Week Tonight With John Oliver switched Emmy categories from Variety Talk Series to Scripted Variety Series, it put an end to Saturday Night Live's six-year winning streak. Last Week Tonight, which has claimed nine consecutive program trophies, is now hoping to take home No. 10 this year. But SNL's milestone 50th season should prove to be a worthy competitor.

First things first: there are six submissions this year for Best Scripted Variety Series, which means there will only be two nominees. Television Academy members who vote on this category are instructed to watch an episode of each contender (a requirement that is not present in the other program races), and then vote "yes" or "no" for whether they think each one is worthy of a nomination. The two entries that receive the highest amount of support will receive bids, as long as they are both over 70 percent approval,...

Dana Carvey Finally Leans In To Being ‘SNL’ Alum
Image
Even though Dana Carvey was never part of the same Saturday Night Live cast as Tracy Morgan, anytime the 30 Rock star would bump into the Wayne’s World star, he’d refer to him as “alum”.

It’s a feeling that only 165 other people know.

And Carvey, who was a cast member between 1986 and 1993, is responsible for some of SNL’s most iconic characters including Church Lady, Gareth Algar and Hans.

“We understand the glue and the wig, and the cards as well as the adrenaline rush of it and really being under prepared most of the time,” Carvey told Deadline.

But it wasn’t until the launch of his Fly on the Wall podcast, the SNL oral history show that he hosts with David Spade, that he really realized what being a part of this institution meant.

“It gave us more empathy. Even really successful cast members are a...

Inside Saturday Night Live’s “Absolutely Unreal” 50th Season
Image
Ask most anybody who’s ever worked at Saturday Night Live to describe their experience and you’ll hear the most harrowing responses … uttered in the most affectionate tones.

“SNL is built on Add, procrastination and people who can really focus at the very end of the day — it’s also a psychological torture chamber,” says Dana Carvey, castmember from 1986 to 1993.

Such animated takes aren’t just reserved for the on-air talent. “There’s the very familiar diarrhea cramps of which many have spoken about,” says Paula Pell, a writer from 1995 to 2013. “You get the cortisol back when you’re there, like somebody gave you 18 niacin pills and you’re just flushing in hot panic. But it’s exhilarating.”

Emmys Acting Contenders: From Pedro Pascal and Diego Luna to Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Who Was Officially Submitted
Image
With Emmy nominations voting officially underway, the Television Academy’s ballots are offering insight into which performances could break through when nominations are unveiled on July 15. While submission totals in several key categories are down — reflecting the industry’s ongoing post-strike recovery — the races remain competitive and dynamic, with marquee names and fresh talent jockeying for recognition.

The lead actor and actress categories in drama are notably tighter this year. Only 77 actors and 75 actresses were submitted — down slightly from 2024 (81 and 67) and a sharp decline from 2022’s highs (134 and 114). As a result, each category will have only five nominees unless ties boost the field to six.

The drama actor race includes a trio of Latino contenders making waves: Diego Luna for “Andor,” Pedro Pascal for “The Last of Us,” and Ramón Rodríguez for “Will Trent.” They’ll face off against a rising generation, and established career performers such as Matthew Goode (“Dept.

‘SNL’ Writers Break Down the ‘Swirl’ of Tackling a Landmark 50th Season, an Anniversary Special and an Election in One Year
Image
It was a late Thursday morning in 30 Rock and “Saturday Night Live” head writers Kent Sublette, Streeter Seidell and Alison Gates were running on caffeine and willpower. As per “SNL” tradition, they stayed up all night Tuesday writing potential sketches for the week’s show. Then, on Wednesday night, they picked the sketches that would move forward for the penultimate episode of the season with host Walton Goggins.

This was on top of a star-studded 50th-season special in February with icons like Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell gracing the 8H stage once again. Oh, yeah, it was an election year, too.

“It was just kind of a swirl,” Seidell said of the season, which also saw cameos from the likes of Adam Sandler and Dana Carvey each week as the show celebrated its cultural legacy. He added, “Your brain just has to file it away as regular work,...

‘SNL’ Cast Unpacks Season 50 Including Miss Eggy, Chloe Fineman’s Big Dumb Line, Straight Bowen Yang & Sarah Sherman Nearly Getting “Jacked”
Image
While Saturday Night Live celebrated its 50th anniversary this season – with a star-studded special that featured many of the 167 iconic cast members that have appeared on the show – there was another change that helped it “get back to its roots”.

Since Season 45, the season interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, cast, writers and crew have performed the read-through in studio 8H on the show floor, but this season they were able to get back to the 17th floor where it has historically always taken place.

Bowen Yang, who joined the show as a writer in Season 44 before being promoted to a cast member for Season 45, said returning to the 17th floor was a “huge deal”.

“From the first season to the 45th, read through is on the 17th floor, and then, because of Covid, because we just had to work with spatial limitations, and wanted a bigger space so we used...

Jason Momoa, Andy Samberg to Star in Action Comedy at Netflix
Image
Some things just make sense together: peanut butter and jelly, cheese and crackers, Jason Momoa and Andy Samberg. That last one is, of course, a new addition to the snack cabinet, as the actors have recently sold their two-hander action comedy film to Netflix. In what was a reportedly "highly competitive" situation, the A Minecraft Movie and Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars are slated to star in an as-yet-untitled film, bringing together two very different, but complementary, flavors of comedic timing.

In a report exclusively reported by Deadline, we were only given a scant few details about a film that already feels rife with potential given the players involved. Though there is no director attached, the film will be written by Saturday Night Live alums Rob Klein and John Solomon. Between the two of them, Klein and Solomon have been nominated 19 times for Emmy Awards. What we do know is that the...

Netflix Lands Hot Action Comedy Package Teaming Andy Samberg & Jason Momoa
Image
Exclusive: Here’s a pairing you might not have seen coming.

In a highly competitive situation, involving offers from both studios and streamers, Netflix has landed the pitch for a two-hander action comedy to star A Minecraft Movie‘s Jason Momoa and SNL alum Andy Samberg.

We hear the currently untitled film is set in Momoa’s native Hawaii, though further details as to the plot are under wraps. Samberg’s Party Over Here and Momoa’s On The Roam will produce. The script will be written by a pair of highly decorated SNL alums: 11x Emmy nominee Rob Klein and eight-time nominee John Solomon. No word yet on who will direct.

Momoa is riding high on the success of A Minecraft Movie, the Warner Bros/Legendary film which secured the biggest opening ever for a video game adaptation, breathing life into the global box office with a worldwide gross exceeding $948 million.

Rob Reiner: ‘Bruce Springsteen Is 100 Percent Right’ About Trump

For legendary director and outspoken Democratic donor Rob Reiner, choosing sides between Bruce Springsteen and Donald Trump in their current war of words didn’t require much deliberation. “Bruce Springsteen is a hundred percent right,” he says, in an interview for an upcoming print issue of Rolling Stone. “I mean, you have to be a moron to not think that everything that Bruce Springsteen said is true. ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Think Contestant Is Spitting Image of Kamala Harris
Image
Wheel of Fortune broadcasting from the White House? Well, not exactly, but some fans think that one of the latest contestants looks like former Vice President Kamala Harris and her teammate kind of resembles her husband, Doug Emhoff. Shirley King, from Henderson, Nevada, played against Steven Koller, from Palm Desert, California, and Danny Harrison, from Wilton Manors, Florida, on Thursday, May 15. The three game show contestants continued Bragging Rights Week, where they all know each other instead of being complete strangers. These friends are flight attendants who promise that the winner will take everyone out to dinner. King had a similar hairstyle and color to Vice President Harris with shoulder-length brown curly hair. She also wore a pink blouse and black blazer, something that the vice president wore often. Her voice was even similar. Harrison said that he calls King his “mom,” which is very similar to what Harris was nicknamed by her supporters — “Momala.

Kamala Harris & Doug Emhoff’s Appearance At Met Gala Leads To Speculation Over Who Paid For $150K Tickets
Image
After former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, attended this year’s Met Gala, online speculation over who paid for the $150,000 tickets has run wild.

On Monday night, Harris and Emhoff appeared at the Met Gala in New York City. She wore a custom black-and-white gown by Off-White. This night marks her first appearance at the Met Gala.

Although the couple skipped the red carpet, the former vice president appeared in photos before the event wearing a silk silhouette with an asymmetrical cape sleeve and a long scarf.

Harris was invited by Vogue editor-in-chief and Met Gala co-chair Anna Wintour, a spokesperson for Harris said.

However, it was not revealed who paid for the tickets, which run $75,000 per person to the annual event, considered the most exclusive party of the year.

Users immediately spread rumors about the mystery on the social media platform X.

Kamala Harris is stepping out for the 2025 Met Gala!

The 60-year-old 49th Vice President of the United States posed for photos before heading to the big fashion event held on Monday evening (May 5) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

For the event, VP Harris looked sophisticated in a black and cream-colored silk dress, by Off-White, featuring a silk scarf and dramatic sleeve.

“The precise simplicity of this black and cream look for Kamala D. Harris complements her own strength and confidence, two qualities I consider to be the core of dandyism,” Off-White Creative Director Ib Kamara shared in a statement.

VP Harris was joined by husband Doug Emhoff, who looked sharping in a coordinating black tux.

The Met Gala will focus on menswear and suiting this year with a “Tailored for You” dress code. The event will celebrate the opening of the museum’s new exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,...

Kamala Harris Makes Met Gala Debut in Off-White
Image
Kamala Harris made her Met Gala debut on Monday night.

The former vice president of the United States, who has maintained a relatively low profile since being defeated in November’s presidential election by Donald Trump, stepped out in style on fashion’s biggest night at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

In official images released by Off-White, Harris is pictured wearing a black-and-cream gown designed by the house’s creative director Ib Kamara. The set of pictures features Harris standing alone in the regal creation, as well as greeting Kamara and posing with the designer and her husband, Doug Emhoff.

Off-White also released a statement from Kamara about his inspiration for the dress, a black and cream cady silk dress featuring a silk scarf and dramatic sleeve. “The precise simplicity of this black and cream look for Kamala D. Harris complements her own strength and confidence, two qualities...

Donald Trump Removes Doug Emhoff And Other Joe Biden Appointees From U.S. Holocaust Museum’s Board
Image
Donald Trump has acted once again to remove his predecessor Joe Biden’s appointees from various commissions, this time ousting former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and other Democrats from the board that oversees the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Emhoff, who was enlisted to be a point person in the Biden administration’s fight against antisemitism, said in a statement that he was informed Tuesday that he was being removed from the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.

“Let me be clear: Holocaust remembrance and education should never be politicized. To turn one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue is dangerous — and it dishonors the memory of six million Jews murdered by Nazis that this museum was created to preserve.”

There are 55 members of the council appointed by the president for five-year terms. Emhoff’s appointment was announced in January, along with other Biden administration figures including Anthony Bernal,...

‘SNL’ Star Bowen Yang Says He’s Begged Lorne Michaels to Replace Him as Jd Vance: ‘Please Reach Out to Zach Galifianakis’
Image
Bowen Yang hopes his days of playing Jd Vance on “Saturday Night Live” can soon end.

During a recent appearance on “The Daily Show,” Yang, who first portrayed the vice president in an October 2024 episode, said that he has begged “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels to have somebody else play the role of Vance on the prolific late-night sketch show.

“Lorne asked me [to play Jd Vance] and, I said, ‘Please, please, please don’t make me do this,’” Yang told “Daily Show” pundit Desi Lydic. “I really do my best with him, but every time I have to play him, I go to Lorne and I say, ‘You can do a buyback, You don’t have to stick with me.’”

The “Wicked” actor continued, “Please reach out to Zach Galifianakis. Please reach out to Taran Killam. But no, that’s my charge.”

Bowen Yang Begged Lorne Michaels “Don’t Make Me” Play Jd Vance On ‘SNL’

Although Bowen Yang doesn’t want to play Jd Vance, he gives the impersonation his all.

The Saturday Night Live star recalled asking Lorne Michaels “please, please, please don’t make me do this” after he was cast in the “challenging” role the vice president on the long-running NBC sketch comedy show.

“First of all — God’s honest truth, I really do my best with him, but every time I have to play him, I go to Lorne and I say, ‘You can do a buyback. You don’t have to stick with me. Please reach out to Zach Galifianakis. Please reach out to Taran Killam,'” he admitted on The Daily Show. “But, no, that’s my charge.”

Yang added, “I worked with — you guys are going to roll your f—ing eyes. I worked with an accent coach. We had to find the middle between Appalachian but Ohio.

Bowen Yang Wants Lorne Michaels to Recast J.D. Vance on ‘SNL’: “Please Don’t Make Me Do This”

Bowen Yang is tired of impersonating J.D. Vance on Saturday Night Live.

The Wicked actor first played the vice president of the United States in September 2024 — a mere two months before Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election. On Thursday, Yang appeared on The Daily Show and said that despite playing the character for less than a year, he would be more than happy if Lorne Michaels recast the role of the Republican politician on SNL.

“Loren asked me [to play Vance] and, I said, ‘Please, please, please don’t make me do this,’” Yang explained to host Desi Lydic. “I really do my best with him, but every time I have to play him, I go to Lorne and I say, ‘You can do a buyback, You don’t have to stick with me.’”

The actor and comedian offered the SNL creator a few options for his replacement: “Please reach out to Zach Galifianakis.

“More Of That!”: Kamala Harris Praised By Hollywood Donors For Ripping Trump & Corporate Capitulation To “Unconstitutional Threats”

Exclusive: “There were many things that we knew would happen, many things – I’m not going to say I told you so,” Kamala Harris declared this week in her strongest swipe at Donald Trump since leaving office.

“I swore I wasn’t going to say that,” the former Vice President added to applause and cries of “say it!” on Thursday at a conference in Orange County.

“About damn time, I would say,” one very political Hollywood heavyweight said after 2024 candidate Harris’ surprise April 3 appearance at the Leading Women Defined Summit. “Harris, Obama, they’ve all been sitting this out too long.”

In that context, a producer who has written many a check for Democrats local and national over the years wasn’t won over by Harris’ latest public stance. “Too little, too late,” he wearily said. “No one wants to hear from her, just go away.” Going away might not...

Kamala Harris Skips Oscars 2025 After Rumors of Her Attendance
Image
Hours before the 2025 Oscars red carpet began, rumors circulated online that former Vice President Kamala Harris could be attending the awards ceremony. However, less than an hour before the show, her husband, Doug Emhoff, revealed that she had much different plans for the big night. “Oscars watch party prep,” Emhoff wrote on X, alongside a post of Harris pouring chips into a bowl. The politician had a big smile on her face as she looked right at the camera while performing the party prep in her kitchen. Emhoff’s post came after Deadline reported that there was “heavier than usual” security at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, leading to speculation that the enhanced security measures were due to Harris’ potential appearance. While one Academy source told the outlet that rumors of the former vice president’s attendance were “not true,” another insider said that her “decision not to attend...

Amidst much heavier than usual security, the decision not to attend was made earlier this afternoon for a variety of reasons, we’re told. While AMPAS did not respond earlier Sunday to request for comment from Deadline on Harris’ attendance at the Conan O’Brien hosted ceremony, an Academy source did tell us “not true” about the VP coming.

Previously, 12:45 Pm: No word if Kamala Harris is presenting or not, but there’s a very good chance the former Vice President will be attending the 97th Academy Awards today.

Kamala Harris Urges Collective Action in Troubled Time at NAACP Image Awards: “We Have No Illusions About What We Are Up Against”
Image
Former vice president and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris received a hero’s reception, including multiple standing ovations and enthusiastic applause, at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, where she was on hand to receive the Chairman’s Award.

Seated in the audience with husband Doug Emhoff, Harris was introduced by NAACP board of directors chair Leon W. Russell.

“Against impossible odds, she gave America a campaign that was a force of nature,” Russell said of Harris’ 2024 presidential bid, which saw her ascend to the top of the Democratic ticket in late July after President Joe Biden ended his re-election effort. “No one else could’ve accomplished what she did, and no one else is more deserving of our gratitude.”

Harris, of course, ultimately lost the general election to the Republican candidate, President Donald Trump. However, she received more than 75 million votes after a campaign that lasted roughly 100 days.

While Harris’ political future remains unknown,...

Kamala Harris Takes Swipes At Trump, Elon Musk At NAACP Image Awards; Decries “Shadows Gathering Over Our Democracy”

“Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty,” Kamala Harris told the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday night in her first major public appearance since leaving office last month.

Accepting this year’s Chairman’s Award on Saturday at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, the ex-vp came on stage to a standing ovation from the star studded attendees at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Resurrecting her campaign mantra of “We the People,” California-born Harris sounded a lot like someone who wasn’t thinking of retiring from public life.

“This chapter will be written, not simply by whoever occupies the Oval Office, nor by the wealthiest among us,” the former Vice President and 2024 White House candidate added with a swipe at Donald Trump and Elon Musk without mentioning either of her political foes by name. “The American story will be written by you, written by us, by We the People.” — as you can...

Kamala Harris Signs With CAA As She Eyes Next Political Moves
Image
Kamala Harris has signed with CAA, returning to the agency that represented her before she became Vice President. Her signing comes just a couple weeks after the agency announced it would represent former President Joe Biden.

CAA’s representation of Harris will be in all areas, with a focus on speaking engagements and publishing, the agency said Tuesday.

“CAA will work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout decades-long career in public service,” CAA said.

CAA represented Harris when she was a U.S. senator, a period in which she published her memoir The Truths We Hold: An American Journey. Breaker first reported on Harris’ signing.

Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, have returned to Los Angeles. There has been speculation that she may return to politics with a run for governor of California next year.

Video: Kamala Harris & Doug Emhoff Visit Cast Of ‘A Wonderful World’ On Broadway
Image
Former Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff went backstage to meet with the cast and crew of A Wonderful World, a Broadway musical about jazz legend Louis Armstrong, on Saturday night. Footage released on the show’s official Instagram page shows Harris shaking hands and posing for pictures at Studio 54 after Saturday night’s performance. In a voiceover, the vice president can be heard saying, “In times when we’re dealing with so much in the world, we have to find those moments that are about joy, and shining — you know, as we say, shining a light in moments of darkness. And knowing that that light comes from within as well as from without, and seeing that light in each other. You guys are doing all of that.” (Credit: @awonderfulworldbway via Storyful)

‘SNL50’: Decades Of Political Satire & Potus Mocking Noticeably Absent From Anniversary Special
Image
(Updated with video) Saturday Night Live has had a lot of Potus mocking over the decades, but you wouldn’t have known it from Sunday’s SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

Tonight’s live show had Alec Baldwin, Will Ferrell, Jay Pharoah, Tina Fey, Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler in attendance but there was nothing of the presidents and presidential candidates they’ve played and poked fun at over nearly 10 presidencies.

In an era where Donald Trump and the FCC are targeting the media and media owners, Baldwin’s acclaimed impression of the former Celebrity Apprentice and SNL host was noticeably absent. Whether or not it was the chill of further legal and regulatory action against NBC owners Comcast, with almost everything else and the kitchen sink from SNL‘s history on screen tonight, seeing no politics out of the Potus-mocking show’s long legacy was almost as rank...

Andy Samberg’s ‘SNL’ Return Was the Perfect Lonely Island Homecoming
Image
We’re celebrating 50 years of “Saturday Night Live“! All this week, we’re digging into the late-night comedy institution with new stories, including lists, essays, interviews, and more.

Back in the early aughts, when The Lonely Island exploded on “Saturday Night Live” and a germinating viral internet, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer would churn out silly ear worms weekly. It was a mix of songs they wrote in the pressure cooker of “SNL” and others they had been working on over breaks and sporadic studio sessions — which is what happened in 2024 with new releases “Sushi Glory Hole” and “Here I Go.”

“Lorne had asked me to come back for the Doug Emhoff stuff, for the election coverage,” Samberg told IndieWire over the phone. “We happened to have some songs ready to go, and there’s no place we’d rather put a video than ‘SNL.’ It’s where we started,...

Kamala Harris In The House As FireAid Concerts Raise Money & Morale For LA
Image
Kamala Harris wasn’t on-stage at the FireAid concerts tonight in LA, but the former VP was certainly a star attraction.

The Democrats’ 2024 candidate for president and former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff entered a box seat at the Intuit Dome Thursday to big cheers as some of the biggest musicians around cranked it up to 11 for the City of Angels.

Kamala Harris Is Facing The Most Difficult Time In Her Life
Image
She certainly didn’t think it was going to be this bad for her, yet here we are. Of course, we are talking about Kamala Harris as she is supposedly facing the most difficult time in her life.

And that’s not just because she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump. It also seems like her personal life has been falling apart, too.

Kamala Harris Is Facing The Most Difficult Time In Her Life

Ever since Kamala Harris left the White House, there’s been strong speculation suggesting that she’s getting ready to pull the plug on her marriage to her husband, Doug Emhoff. But that’s only if he doesn’t end up walking out on her first.

It’s being said that Kamala wants to move back to California so she can work for her bid on possibly becoming the next governor of the Golden State.

“I F*cked Up”: Justin Baldoni Tells Blake Lively In Late-Night 2023 Vm; Judge Aims For March 2026 ‘It Ends With Us’ Trial Start
Image
“I’m really sorry, I f*cked up,” Justin Baldoni admitted to his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively in a 2 a.m. voice message in April 2023 after delivering a less-than-enthusiastic response to a scene rewrite from the deflated Gossip Girl vet.

“I will admit and apologize when I fail,” the Jane the Virgin alum added in the six-minute missive about the rooftop sequence from the Sony-distributed hit. “I’m a very flawed man, as my wife will attest.”

Far from the first piece of private correspondence or communication between the co-stars and their various publicists unveiled since Lively filed a sexual harassment and retaliation complaint on December 20 with California’s Civil Rights Department, the rambling, nearly two-year-old voice message comes released by Baldoni’s team as a federal judge has penciled in a March 9, 2026, trial start date for the thespians’ bitter dispute.

“By Thursday, January 30, 2025, the parties...

Former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff Resumes Legal Career
Image
Doug Emhoff is returning to private practice as law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher today welcomed the former (and first ever) Second Gentleman of the United Sates as a partner.

Emhoff’s practice will focus on advising corporations, boards of directors and individuals on their most consequential business challenges, sensitive investigations, and complex litigation, including matters with significant reputational concerns that are international in scope, and emerging legal issues across industries and sectors, the firm said. He will split his time between Los Angeles and New York.

“Doug’s leadership and his service as a trusted counselor to many global business leaders across a broad range of industries, as well as his extensive legal expertise and business acumen, make him a tremendous asset,” said the firm’s Chairman Thomas Cerabino. “We’re thrilled to be adding Doug to the Willkie partnership during this period of transformational firm growth.”

Doug Emhoff Snubs Sen. Deb Fischer’s Husband After He Refused To Shake Kamala Harris’ Hand
Image
Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, refused to give Bruce Fischer, the husband of Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Nebraska), a handshake at Monday’s Inauguration.

Earlier this month, Bruce was criticized on social media for refusing to shake Harris’ hand during Deb’s swearing-in ceremony, even though other angles of this moment reveal that his right hand, often used for handshakes, was used to grip his cane.

During the ceremony, Harris administered the oath to the Nebraska senator while her hand was rested on the Bible. She then shook her hand, congratulated her, and thanked her for her work.

The former vice president then offered to shake Bruce’s hand while congratulating him. He told her, “Thank you,” but did not give her his hand back, which caused her to awkwardly turn toward the camera and smile with Deb and her husband for a photograph.

Bidens & Trumps Meet For Tea Before Inauguration
Image
Ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted Trump and Melania Trump for a private tea at the White House. The meeting marked a symbolic gesture of the peaceful transfer of power, with both families traveling together to the U.S. Capitol for the inauguration ceremony.

The event was a departure from 2021, when Trump skipped Biden’s swearing-in and flew to Florida instead. This year’s gathering was seen as an effort to restore a sense of tradition and civility, despite the political tensions of the past election.

In a gesture of welcome, Biden greeted Trump with, “Welcome home!” The tea followed the custom of outgoing presidents meeting their successors before the inauguration, a tradition that was not observed in 2021.

The meeting also highlighted the strained relationship between the two families. In 2021, Melania Trump declined Jill Biden’s invitation for a tea,...

Police Arrest 2 Suspected Burglars At Kamala Harris’ Brentwood Home Amid Fires
Image
As wildfires continue to ravage Southern California, local law enforcement has arrested numerous people attempting to take advantage of the situation.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Deadline that two individuals were arrested at the Vice President’s Brentwood home at 4:40am on Saturday. Ultimately, they could not prove the individuals were involved in burglary, however they were detained for “violating curfew.”

As of late last week, a curfew has been imposed on evacuation zones from 6pm to 6am to curb looting and unrest.

Since the fires started, officers have made 29 arrests across the impacted areas, including for burglary, breaking curfew and other violations.

Fires have broken out in the Pacific Palisades, Eaton Canyon, Malibu, the Hollywood Hills and other areas around Los Angeles County amid a “life-threatening and destructive” windstorm that picked up Tuesday.

On Friday’s (January 10) new live episode of The View, the cohosts started the hour by talking about the memorial service for former President Jimmy Carter, which was attended by all five living presidents and some of their spouses — Bill and Hillary Clinton, George and Laura Bush, Barack Obama (Michelle Obama was absent), Donald and Melania Trump, and Joe and Jill Biden — as well as some of the vice presidents — Dan Quayle, Al Gore, Mike Pence (with wife Karen), and Kamala Harris (with Doug Emhoff). “I couldn’t take my eyes off of the body language,” Joy Behar said before showing a much-seen moment in which Trump made Obama laugh. “It looks like Trump is asking Obama which country the Panama Canal was in!… I wish I was a fly on Mike Pence. Stephen Colbert Says the ‘Marvel Presidential Universe’ Attended Jimmy Carter’s Funeral – From ‘Staredevil’ to ‘Dr. Dumbass’ | Video
Image
Presidents past, present and future were all in attendance at Jimmy Carter’s state funeral on Thursday morning — or, as Stephen Colbert dubbed them on Thursday night, the “Marvel Presidential Universe.”

The nation’s 39th president died on Dec. 29, 2024, at the age of 100, surpassing Ronald Reagan as the oldest American president. Carter’s funeral was carried on all the major news networks, with some people stunned at whom was sitting next to each other.

But Colbert was mostly just amused by who was even in attendance.

“You got ‘Captain Saxophone,’ ‘Madam Popular Vote,'” Colbert joked, referring to Bill and Hillary Clinton, “‘The Invisible Wmd,’ ‘Mr. Netflix,’ ‘When We Harley, We Quinn,’ ‘Staredevil,’ ‘Dr. Dumbass’ and Doug.”

In order, Colbert was referring to George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and, well, Doug Emhoff. Like Peter in “Deadpool 2,” Doug doesn’t need a super moniker.

Jim Gaffigan Knows Trump Supporters Might “Never Forgive” Him For Criticism: “I Don’t Regret It”
Image
Up until taking on Gov. Tim Walz on Saturday Night Live, Jim Gaffigan tended to stay away from politics in his comedy.

But the Emmy-winning comedian doesn’t regret the times he spoke his mind, including a 2020 tweet in which he called Donald Trump “a liar and a criminal,” despite losing some Trump supporters as fans.

“I regret that people think that I was criticizing people that support Trump. And that was never the intention,” he explained on The Daily Beast’s The Last Laugh podcast. “I regret—someone said like, now I can’t follow you anymore and I kind of said ‘F you’ to them. But it’s weird because I think authenticity is really an important thing, not only as a comedian, but also with your children.

“For me, I don’t regret it, but I also do acknowledge that there are true die-hard Trump fans who probably enjoyed my comedy,...

‘Saturday Night Live’ Cold Open Skewers Internet Mania for ‘Sexy Slayer’ CEO Killer, Nancy Grace and YouTube Ad Breaks
Image
“Saturday Night Live’s” cold open took direct aim at the internet obsession about Luigi Mangione, the alleged killer of the United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson with a sketch that featured Sarah Sherman as true crime maven Nancy Grace.

“Y’all psychos find him a sex symbol,” Sherman as Grace told the audience in diving into the shocking story of the brazen Dec. 4 slaying in Manhattan of Thompson walked to an investor conference. With over-the-top tabloid delivery Grace observed that Mangione “has women and gay guys hot and bothered,” describing him as “Dave Franco with Eugene Levy’s eyebrows.”

Kenan Thompson appeared later in the sketch as a man on the street who happened to encounter the killer. Interviewing him at the McDonald’s where the alleged killer was caught, Grace asked Thompson’s character “can you believe people were attracted to this sexy slayer?”

To which Thompson replied, “Women love bad boys.
