Ernst Wolff and his parents left the economically important port city of Tianjin in the fertile Huabei Plain near the Chinese capital Beijing shortly after he was born there in 1950. Nevertheless, economics was to be a common thread running through the life of the financial expert who, after a detour via Korea, finally completed his schooling in Germany. He made only one further excursion to distant countries when he decided to study philosophy and history in the United States of America. Already during his time at university, the now 70-year-old began to combine his passions for writing and economics. He retained these passions when he began his professional career - but it ended up being his undoing. When he drew the indignation of the government and the media with a critical article about the Vietnam War at the time, Ernst Wolff once again shifted the center of his life to Germany - this time for good. His two children are now out of the house, and he himself writes his texts and videos in the greater Berlin area. These are not about philosophy and history, but about the global economy, financial crises and investment opportunities. The now experienced journalist is also no stranger to interpreting and writing scripts, but the economist's main concern is to protect the public from making the wrong investments. He wants private investors to share his experience, which he often passes on free of charge through a variety of channels. Lectures at anti-censorship conferences, guest articles in Contra magazine and countless publications in Internet magazines or political online blogs are complemented by interviews on radio and television and the publication of books, two of which have already landed on the order lists of Der Spiegel and Manager Magazin with good reason. In 2014, for example, he addressed the relationships between business and politics in "World Power IMF," and in "Financial Tsunami," published three years later, he denounced the injustice of the global distribution of money. Ernst Wolff wanted to back up his words with action and therefore ran in the 2021 Bundestag election for his constituency of Dessau-Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt. But his efforts to enter the Bundestag as a member of the grassroots Democratic Party of Germany were not crowned with success at the time.
