Enjoys playing piano, violin and singing when not acting.

Became a professional actress at age eight, and has had recurring and leading roles in such Canadian TV series' as "Super Rupert," "Noddy and Friends," "Skinnamarink TV" and "Hello, Mrs. Cherrywinkle." Miss Lai has also appeared in numerous radio dramas produced for the CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation).

Miss Lai has an Asian father of Chinese descent and a Caucasian mother of European descent.

Is one of four children.
