Last year, 24 In 24: Last Chef Standing premiered its first season and it saw 24 chefs competing in 24 challenges for 24 hours from 9 am on day one until one chef remained standing at 9 am on day two. The exhausting yet interesting concept was accepted by the audience, leading to success.

The Food Network TV series returns for Season 2 this Sunday (April 27) at 8 p.m. Et.

Shot in real time, hosts Michael Symon and Esther Choi will bring 24 chefs together for 24 challenges over the course of 24 straight hours.

One competitor will survive to become the last chef standing and win $75,000.

In Season 2, per Food Network, the challenges are divided into eight shifts that “reflect the all-consuming intensity of a chef’s daily life — with each focusing on a different skill such as speed, resourcefulness, artistry and adaptability. With contenders ranging from Gen Z prodigies and renowned restaurant chefs to Food Network veterans and an Iron Chef, the 24 in 24 arena will be filled with culinary stars who must conquer major twists and turns, all while battling fatigue and each other.”

Food Network’s ambitious “24 in 24: Last Chef Standing” culinary competition has set its second season premiere date and unveiled the list of new competitors for the Michael Symon and Esther Choi-hosted show.

Shot in real time, the “24 in 24: Last Chef Standing” features 24 chefs competing in 24 challenges over the course of 24 straight hours. The challenges are divided into eight shifts that reflect a chef’s daily life and focus on skills including speed, resourcefulness, artistry and adaptability.

Cooking skills won’t be enough to get them to the finish line, as ingenuity and calculated risks are needed to survive and cook another day. As competitors are eliminated, they bequeath their remaining ingredients to chosen remaining challengers, making strategy and alliances a crucial part of surviving the competition.

Bravo has set the premiere date for Season 18 of “Top Chef,” which was shot in Portland, Ore., amid the pandemic. The network also released a trailer featuring the crop of new contestants who packed their knives and headed off to cook for Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons in the Pacific Northwest.
