Acclaimed filmmaker Jordan Peele's reputation in the horror genre is stellar thanks to efforts such as his critically acclaimed movie, Us, which remains a fan-favorite six years after its premiere. However, audiences won't have much longer to relive the hit movie on streaming as it's set to leave Netflix soon.

Per Netflix, several big-screen titles will be leaving the streaming service next month, with Us set to depart on Sept. 1. The Universal Pictures title landed on Netflix in June, joining Peele's animated comedy-horror film, Wendell & Wild, on the streamer.

Julia Fox is the latest guest star to join CBS’ police procedural “Elsbeth.” She will play a New York City “grief influencer” in the third season of the dramedy, a spinoff of “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight.”

Fox will play Raquel Drabowski, described by CBS as a “Staten Island widow who transformed herself into an upscale NYC ‘Grief Influencer’ and reality star on the hit dating series ‘Black Veil.'”

“Elsbeth” Season 3 premieres on Oct. 12. The show stars Carrie Preston as the de facto detective Elsbeth Tascioni. The majority of the show functions as a “howcatchem” mystery, rather than a “whodunit,” meaning the audience is usually privy to who the murderer is at the beginning of each episode. The series premiered in February 2024 and kicked off its second season just months after the first season finished airing.

New 'Him' Image Reveals Marlon Wayans in New Sports Horror Movie [Exclusive]
Image
Greatness requires sacrifice. That is the mantra of Kicks director Justin Tipping's new sports horror flick Him, a twisted exploration of idolatry, fame, and the endless pursuit of excellence told through the lens of American football. Produced by Jordan Peele through his Monkeypaw Productions, it centers on a young, rising star quarterback played by Atlanta's Tyriq Withers, who's invited to train with his idol, a Tom Brady-like mythological figure with eight rings to his name brought to life by a surprisingly fearsome Marlon Wayans. The basic premise is just the surface of what terrifying realities lie underneath the superstar's world, and we're able to give everyone a sneak peek as part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event for fall movies. Our exclusive image has Wayans speaking with his young co-star as he arrives and preparing him for the endless, soul-destroying grind.

Tyriq Withers and Marlon Wayans Clash in Chilling Horror ‘Him’
Image
Jordan Peele is back in the producer’s chair with Him, a sports horror film that blends psychological unease with the brutal pursuit of greatness. Directed by Justin Tipping and written by Tipping alongside Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the film hits US cinemas on 19 September and UK screens on 3 October 2025. It features a dramatic turn from Marlon Wayans as a revered but increasingly unhinged former athlete.

Him centres on Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), a young quarterback whose future is derailed by a violent attack just days before the NFL Combine. Isolated and desperate, Cam is offered salvation by his idol, Isaiah White (Wayans), a decorated football legend who invites him to train at his private compound. What begins as a second chance spirals into psychological torment, as Cam finds himself trapped under the influence of a man whose obsession with legacy blurs the line between inspiration and indoctrination.

Jordan Peele's 'Him' Releases Bloody First Trailer
Image
Jordan Peele might not be back in the director's seat just yet following the success of his 2022 hit Nope, but his latest behind-the-scenes effort as a producer has his fingerprints all over it. Titled Him, the psychological sports horror movie is set to hit theaters this September, and if the newly released trailer is any indication of anything, fans are in for a wild ride.

Directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks), the trailer (seen below) for Him showcases star Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, an up-and-coming young football sensation who gets the opportunity to train with Marlon Wayans' character of Isaiah White. Things quickly go off the rails when he realizes that his coach's methods are unorthodox, to say the least, and from there things get even crazier as the trailer descends into something that resembles a bad acid trip. Honestly, we'd expect nothing less from Peele.

Image
Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers are ready to take the field, but this is no mere game. The new trailer for Justin Tipping's football horror movie, Him, shows that it takes another level of effort and sacrifice for anyone who wants to be the Goat. The film follows the Atlanta star as up-and-coming quarterback Cameron Cade, who, on the eve of the professional football scouting combine, suffers potentially career-altering brain trauma when an unhinged fan ambushes him. Fortunately for Cade, his idol and one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever do it, Isaiah White (Wayans), offers him the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train at his isolated compound. What he'll find, however, is a more sinister grind that embraces violence, drugs, and bizarre, ritualistic practices that call on dark forces to achieve greatness.

The footage opens during an interview with Cade as he gets used to the idea of being the next great football star.

Will Colleen Hoover’s Regretting You Release on Netflix After Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us Drama?
Image
After the dramatic release of It Ends With Us, Colleen Hoover’s another novel is set to hit the screens, Regretting You. Based on Hoover’s 2019 novel of the same name and directed by Josh Boone, the film went into production earlier this year with a star-studded cast including Allison Williams, McKenna Grace, Dave Franco, and Scott Eastwood.

It is set to hit the theatres this fall. However, unlike It Ends With Us, which was made available on Netflix four months after its theatrical release under the distribution deal between Sony Pictures and the streamer, Regretting You may not follow the same path. The film adaptation, written by Susan McMartin, went into production under Paramount Pictures. And it also does not streaming release date so far.

Per Collider, I Know What You Did Last Summer will leave Netflix on Aug. 1, becoming one of several feature-length titles to depart from the streaming giant that day. The film hit Netflix on New Year's Day (Jan. 1) and found success on the streamer, including when the sequel hit theaters earlier this month.

Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe, I Know What You Did Last Summer was penned by Scream creator Kevin Williamson and helmed by eventual Venom director Jim Gillespie. The film kicked off a longstanding franchise based on Lois Duncan's titular 1973 novel.

‘Him’ – New Image from Jordan Peele-Produced Sports Horror Movie Gets the Horns
Image
The new horror movie from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, Him will release in theaters on September 19, and Empire Online has shared a brand new image this week.

The director of Him is not Jordan Peele but rather Justin Tipping (Kicks), and Tipping explains to Empire Online that while the film may initially seem like a typical sports movie, it ultimately devolves until a full-throated nightmare of an experience.

Tipping tells the outlet, “My instinct was to set it up in a way that it feels like we’re in Friday Night Lights, or a Gatorade or Nike ad. We’re rooting for the kid who just needs to unlock one thing to take it to the next level. And then we subvert the expectations and let it become Nosferatu or Ex Machina.”

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)’ Review
Image
Stars: Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt | Written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Sam Lansky | Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson

In the era of legacy sequels, it was only a matter of time before 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer was also revived for the modern-day. From the title to the threatening image of a hook, it is an iconic slice of ’90s horror which helped revitalise the slasher subgenre and is remembered fondly as part of many viewers’ nostalgia. But, to borrow a line from returning final-girl Julie James, “Nostalgia is overrated,” as we are now left with 2025’s I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Returning to her hometown of Southport, Ava Brucks (Chase Sui Wonders) reunites with her past friends at the engagement party for her bestie, Danica Richards (Madelyn Cline). As the...

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ (2025) Review – Slick, Bloody, and Not Very Smart
Image
After the new ‘Scream’ films hit our screens in the early 2020s, it became clear to the legacy cast of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ that their film might be next to be resurrected. Freddie Prinze Jr., one of the core four of the original seaside slasher film, said so himself. Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Sam Lansky, ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ is a bloody, morally grey slasher film that also confidently announces a generation of new stars. Greenlit by Sony Pictures in late 2022 after Robinson and screenwriter Leah McKendrick pitched a bold, bloody legacy sequel that would bridge the franchise’s past and present. Starring ‘Outer Banks’ breakout Madelyn Cline, ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ and ‘The Studio’ cast-member Chase Sui Wonders, ‘The Little Mermaid’ reboot’s Prince Eric Jonah Hauer-King, and star of the upcoming Jordan Peele produced film ‘Him’ Tyriq Withers,...

I Know What You Did Last Summer Worldwide Box Office: Earns 39% More Than Its Modest Budget In Just 4 Days, Despite A Slow Start!

I Know What You Did Last Summer Worldwide Box Office: Update After 4 Days ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

I Know What You Did Last Summer had an underwhelming start this weekend, its opening weekend. But it has achieved an interesting feat regarding its return on investment: It has earned more than half of its breakeven number worldwide in just four days. Keep scrolling for the deets.

The film debuted at #3 in the domestic box office chart, and it’s not its fault as Hollywood tentpole releases are hogging all the limelight. It is a reboot of the Og classic, which was released in 1997. The film maintains a stronghold at the 3rd rank and is expected to continue until Thursday. On Friday, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released, pushing it further down in the list. The Big 3 – Superman, Jurassic World Rebirth, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps will dominate the box office.

‘9-1-1’ Star, 46, Is Pushing For a Crossover With an Iconic Slasher Franchise
Image
Jennifer Love Hewitt has a brilliant idea, and we’re hoping the 9-1-1 creative team listens to it. On the heels of opening weekend for Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, which sees Hewitt reprise the role of Julie James after nearly three decades since originating it, the actress grabbed a seat opposite Tommy Didario on his I’ve Never Said This Before podcast. It was there that she came up with and spitballed her plans for a one-of-a-kind event that would see 9-1-1 pay homage to the iconic slasher franchise.

During the pair’s chat, the star of the beloved ABC procedural was musing about what might happen to her character — 911 dispatcher Maddie Han — in upcoming episodes when she struck gold with a killer idea:

“What if I get a call at the 911 call center from a girl being chased by a fisherman?...

Jennifer Love Hewitt defends I Know What You Did Last Summer twist (Spoilers)
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mekhi Phifer, Brandy Norwood, and Freddie Prinze Jr. in Souviens-toi... l'été dernier 2 (1998)
There’s a new sequel to the 1997 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) and its 1998 follow-up I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (watch that one Here) in theatres now (JoBlo’s own Tyler Nichols gave it a 4/10 “dumpster fire” review that can be read at This Link). Jennifer Love Hewitt, who played heroine Julie James in the first two films, and Freddie Prinze Jr., who was Julie’s boyfriend Ray Bronson in those films, reprise their roles – and they’re facing off with a new “Fisherman” killer that’s stalking a whole new cast. The movie features a twist that has been upsetting a lot of fans of the original movies, though, and in an interview with Variety, Hewitt took the opportunity to defend that twist. So we’re going to have to dig into Spoiler territory before we get to her defense.

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Ending Explained – Shocking Reveals & Post-Credits Surprises
Image
The latest legacy sequel to a ‘90s slasher classic may hit many familiar notes, but its final act sets up some truly ambitious surprises that will shock franchise fans

Warning: This feature has Heavy Spoilers for 2025’s I Know What You Did Last Summer.

It’s been 27 years since an I Know What You Did Last Summer film was in theaters. The horror landscape has significantly evolved since the late ‘90s, yet there’s been more and more of a push to return to the nostalgic creature comforts of the past. Legacy sequels have become the new normal and the past decade has featured follow-ups to Halloween, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Candyman, and even The Exorcist. This practice has become increasingly normalized to the point that a legacy sequel to 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer makes perfect sense, especially during a time where Scream’s own...
