It's almost impossible to believe, but it's been a quarter of a century since Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card premiered. As a celebration of the movie's 25th anniversary and the legacy of Cardcaptor Sakura, some new gorgeous art by Clamp was unveiled as the Japanese fans prepare for the movie's re-release in theaters this summer. Cardcaptor Sakura fans just got some unexpected magic: a peek at some brand-new artwork drawn for the beloved series' second movie. The image comes in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Cardcaptor Sakura the Movie 2: The Sealed Card, primed to return to theaters with exclusive bonuses this summer in Japan.

The new artwork includes colored illustrations by the anime's chief animation director, Hisashi Abe, who also supervised the character designs for the first film. These aren't recycled promotional materials -- they're fresh takes on Sakura and the gang created specifically for the anniversary celebration. Clamp, the original manga creators, also contributed B5 illustration cards that will be distributed during the first week of screenings. Both sets of illustrations can be seen below.

Cardcaptor Sakura has received a collection of brand-new intricately crafted accessories for international buyers, adding a fresh touch of '90s magical-girl anime nostalgia to wardrobes or collectors' shelves.

Via a press release, Cardcaptor Sakura received new merchandise available internationally through the Buyee proxy shipping service. The releases include embroidered brooches and rosettes, featuring Sakura Kinomoto's different transformations across arcs and friends like Kero-chan and Syaoran. The brooches cost 990 yen (~US$6.45) while the rosettes cost 968 yen (~US$6.31). Readers can check out the official images below.
