It has been announced that Danielle Harris’ directorial debut, Among Friends, has been acquired by Grindstone Entertainment and will be released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment:

“Grindstone Entertainment has picked up Us rights to Three Little Birds Productions’ Among Friends, the directorial debut of veteran scream queen Danielle Harris (Halloween, The Last Boy Scout), and it will be released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

The deal was brokered by Aspect/Chiller CEO Hugh Edwards and Grindstone’s Head of Acquisitions Stan Wertlieb.

“As a longtime fan of Danielle Harris, I eagerly anticipated her directorial debut; and she has really made a disturbing horror statement. One to remember and take note of,” says Wertlieb.

Veteran Scream Queen Danielle Harris’s first directing gig, Among Friends has secured a Us distribution deal with Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Talk about serendipity; the same day we post our review of Danielle Harris' directorial debut, Among Friends, we get word of the film being acquired by Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada for a home video release next year.

Danielle Harris has long expressed her desire to travel other cinematic paths, particularly eager to place her rear in the director’s chair. Genre familiars Aj Bowen, Kane Hodder, Jennifer Blanc, Brianne Davis and Harris herself appear, as well as Christopher Backus, Dana Daurey, Kamala Jones, Alyssa Lobit and Chris Meyer.
