Netflix has proven many times that it can deliver high-octane, fast-paced action films. Whether it's with popular franchises like Extraction, or foreign titles like Exterritorial, the streaming service offers a wide selection of adrenaline-fueled films.

One of them is the French franchise Lost Bullet, the perfect replacement for the Fast & Furious franchise. The highly underrated high-octane car action franchise premiered in 2020 on Netflix, and returned in 2022 with the sequel Lost Bullet 2, and recently released the film series' conclusion, Last Bullet. Following the recent release of the last entry, the Lost Bullet franchise has taken over the non-English global charts, not just with the latest entry, but all the installments, with over 21 million views, per Tudum.

The third and final movie in one of the most underrated action trilogies on Netflix is gearing up to hit the streamer tomorrow, and the first reactions have now pulled into view. Last Bullet, which brings the explosive story of the “indestructible” car genius Lino to an end, is due to hit Netflix on May 7, and the first pair of early reactions to the action outing have heaped praise on the “incredible” finale.

Directed by Guillaume Pierret, who has helmed all three installments in the Bullet series, Last Bullet finds Alban Lenoir back in the driving seat as Lino, with the rest of the cast comprised of Nicolas Duvauchelle, Stéfi Celma, Gérard Lanvin, Pascale Arbillot, Quentin D'Hainaut, Julie Tedesco, and Anne Serra. Declared as the finale of this “turbo-charged trilogy,” Last Bullet finds Lino freshly released from prison and quickly gearing up to enact his vengeance against the crooked cop who destroyed his life.

Netflix continues to deliver all the explosions, gunplay, and car chases that any action fan could possibly want as the streamer unleashes the first trailer for the finale of the adrenaline-fueled franchise you’ve never heard of. At this year’s Mipcom, France TV Distribution will launch international distribution of Tetra Media Fiction’s sci-fi family drama “Annwyn The Otherworld” (originally titled “Anaon”).

Created by screenwriter Bastien Dartois in collaboration with Sylvain Caron and Elsa Vasseur and produced by Alexandre Boyer and Antoine Szymalka for Tetra Media Fiction, the series is currently in production. Delivery is set for Q1 2025 with domestic broadcast rights belonging to Prime Video and France TV.

Dartois co-wrote the show with Sylvain Caron, Elsa Vasseur and Marine Maugrain Legagneur. David Hourrègue, who has helmed episodes of “Rivages,” “Germinal” and Skam France,” directs.

“Annwyn The Otherworld” is a six-part series that follows police chief Max, who oversees a small town in Brittany. There, he takes on several new and strange cases, including the disappearance of a teenage girl and a suspected serial abuser. The challenging investigation is made more difficult given Max’s home life.

Arriving at a moment when interest in all things atomic has been piqued by the global success of “Oppenheimer,” Dragan Bjelogrlić’s “Guardians of the Formula” offers a far more classical, but no less gripping take on a little-known episode marking a historical intersection between the medical and nuclear sciences. Based on Goran Milašinović’s book “Vinča Case,” there are further echoes of Christopher Nolan’s epic in how this elegantly constructed movie centers the ethical and ideological dilemmas of brilliant men of science thrust, somewhat reluctantly, onto the international political stage. But it differs in its careful inclusion of the heroism of ordinary people, and in showing how, while genius is valuable, it’s only prolonged exposure to more everyday human decency that can irradiate the more bull-headed scientific ego with the compassion needed for actual wisdom.
