Il est connu pour Hobo with a Shotgun (2011), Golden Glove (2019) et La Marque du diable (1970). Il est marié avec Beate. Lui et Beate ont deux enfants.

- Michael Holm played in his first band at the age of 15.
- He is primarily known as a singer of Schlager music.
- Although his first appearance in the hit parade was in 1962 ("Lauter Schöne Worte"), he had his first big hit in 1969. "Mendocino", the German adaptation of a song by the Sir Douglas Quintet, was the biggest selling single that year in (Germany). The record was released in September 1969, reached number three for five weeks, selling over a million copies. Record company Ariola presented him with a gold record in October 1970.
- Michael Holm became interested in music since he was a child. The family environment was certainly adequate, since his father and four brothers and sisters constituted a sort of family orchestra playing the piano, the violin, the flute and other instruments. From that time, Holm recalls with a special feeling the role of flutist that in that sextet he was assigned.
- After graduating from high school, he began studying law in West Berlin, which he did not complete. Reason were his first musical successes.
