B-Movies get a lot of criticism, and most of the time, it's well-deserved. While their measly budgets and low quality are sometimes quite charming, these movies often flop because they fail to stick to a substantial plot. Yet, these movies also get a lot of traction from die-hard film buffs.

While Hollywood continues to follow the same tropes and reuse the same set of actors time and time again, B Movies offers fans something very different. As such, B-Movies have a collection of loyal fans, making them successful in their own right. Another Star Wars Celebration is in the books, and even the fans who couldn't attend the Orlando convention got to see some of the biggest panels streamed live. Naturally, not every panel could be streamed live, one of which being the Star Wars 365: Fact and Fiction, which was hosted by Industrial Light and Magic visual effects supervisor John Knoll. The host took a deep dive into A New Hope history for the movie's 40th Anniversary, and even unearthed some rare never-before-seen footage from this iconic classic.

1976 saw the publication of John Brosnan’s excellent book The Horror People. Written during the summer of 1975, it makes interesting reading 40 years down the line. Those who feature prominently in the book – Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, Jack Arnold, Michael Carreras, Sam Arkoff, Roy Ward Baker, Freddie Francis, Robert Bloch, Richard Matheson and Milton Subotsky – were still alive, as were Ralph Bates, Mario Bava, Jimmy Carreras, John Carradine, Dan Curtis, John Gilling, Robert Fuest, Michael Gough, Val Guest, Ray Milland, Robert Quarry and Michael Ripper, all of whom were given a mention. Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Junior, Michael Reeves and James H Nicholson were not long dead. Hammer, Amicus and American International Pictures were still in existence. George A Romero had yet to achieve his prominence and Stephen King wasn’t even heard of!
