Became a father for the 1st time at age 32 when his fiancée Emma Gleave gave birth to their son Alfie Gregson on 31 August 2007.

Became a father for the 3rd time at age 41 when his wife Emma Gleave gave birth to their son Henry Teddy Gregson on 11 December 2015.

Became a father for the 2nd time at age 34 when his fiancée Emma Gleave gave birth to their son Harry Gregson on 12 July 2009.

In addition to their three sons Gregson and his wife Emma have been pregnant another twelve times; the last one (an ectopic pregnancy) occurring in September 2017. On all of these occasions Emma suffered miscarriages; her longest pregnancy lasting just over five months.

Is one of 11 Coronation Street (1960) actors to have won a Best Comedy Performance Award at the British Soap Awards; the others are John Savident, Sue Nicholls, Malcolm Hebden, Andrew Whyment, Maggie Jones, Craig Gazey, Patti Clare, Stephanie Cole, Sally Dynevor and Dolly-Rose Campbell.

Was originally credited in Coronation Street under his birth name, Simon Gregory, until his 16th birthday when he joined actors' union Equity and discovered there was already an actor called Simon Gregory.
