The Undertaker made his debut in WWE in 1990 as the mortician figure who was the mystery partner of The Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase. The night marked the start of what became one of the greatest legacies in professional wrestling as Undertaker went on to become a worldwide-renowned figure.

In an appearance on Breaking Kayfabe, The Undertaker reflected back on his relationship with Shawn Michaels during their time as active competitors.

When we come to think of the shrewdest and most cunning businessmen, the name of Vincent Kennedy McMahon, more popularly known as Vince McMahon, is up there. Despite his legacy being tarnished over legal issues since 2024, it can’t be denied that he revolutionized the wrestling industry, becoming the biggest sports entertainment brand with his WWF/WWE.

Interestingly enough, over the years, there have been many instances where he has outright ascertained the claims of him being outright petty. From firing superstars for talking back to him to sacking big talents without hesitation, the Evil Genius’ ego is as big as it gets.

However, sometimes pettiness reaches new heights because Mr. McMahon wants to prove his point. This is how it went in 2009 when he made the LA Lakers and Denver Nuggets face off inside the ring after Raw was forced to move from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

There are a few wrestlers who get so big alongside the transition of the company that they somehow get a hallmark to their name. For example, the likes of Razor Ramon, the man who immortalised the art of being a heel, and such was his persona that even thinking about him being a baby face felt weird. Similarly, if we take a look at the other side of the spectrum, the likes of Hulk Hogan and John Cena, they ran wild with their babyface personas.

When Hulk Hogan turned on WCW, joining the New World Order alongside Diesel and Razor Ramon, the world was left stunned and speechless. In a similar display, when John Cena delivered a low blow to Cody Rhodes after 25 years of being the poster boy baby face of the industry, the wrestling universe still tried to make sense of what really happened.

As a WWE fan, there are names that are attached to great matches and great moments. John Cena and Randy Orton are two of them. Their feud has lasted nearly 20 years, which is a substantial piece of wrestling history that displays Cena’s unwavering fire and Orton’s unforgiving disrespect.

Their relationship outside of the wrestling business, as they have been childhood friends, helps elevate their arguments in the squared circle.

The two share something special, as per my feelings. On Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania 41, Randy took the WWE Universe by surprise with an Rko on Cena. In one moment, Triple H helped revitalize a feud that has been dormant for 11 years now, and it was evident that this storyline is still extremely exciting.

Cena and Orton’s rivalry started in 2005, and as a fan, seeing them trade blows over the WWE Championship was just magic.

Donald Trump isn’t holding back. On April 02, the President of the United States of America revealed expansive new tariffs, calling it a “declaration of economic independence.” Declaring it a US economic emergency, he announced a minimum of 10% tariffs across all countries. Sixty countries were hit even harder as the rates only increased for them. The decision will heavily impact South Asian countries. For example, he imposed a 44% tariff on Sri Lanka.

At the same time, when we look at the women’s section, things seem to lack the same build-up and big moments that will make fans look forward to their match. In the summer of 1996, the World Wrestling Federation held its annual King of the Ring tournament. After weeks of matches, the semis and finals were set for June 23rd, 1996, with Stone Cold Steve Austin facing Jake “The Snake” Roberts for the crown later in the night. Roberts, then known for working from a Christian angle, would cut a promo before the match doing just that. Just before Austin took the ring and pinned Roberts, he was tipped about the promo’s contents.

After the five-minute match, Austin stood next to the same man who tipped him off, Michael Hayes. And it was there that a legend and a catchphrase were born, and an entire industry was born again. With a mouth full of blood, Stone Cold Steve Austin told his defeated opponent: “You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn’t get you anywhere!

Former pro wrestler Mike Jones of WWE and WCW fame has passed away.

Mike Jones, best known to wrestling fans for his run as Virgil in WWE (then WWF), died on Wednesday, per WrestleZone. The wrestler had recently been hospitalized amid ongoing health issues following a dementia diagnosis in 2022. He'd also suffered two minor strokes, and a social media post in 2022 stated he had stage 2 colon cancer. Jones was 61 years old.

“My dear friends, it is with great sorrow that I bring news from the Jones family of the passing of our beloved Michael Jones, whom we know and loved as Virgil, Vincent, Soul Train Jones and more,” pro wrestling referee Mark Charles III said of the news when announcing Jones' death on social media. “Virgil passed peacefully at the hospital this morning and I ask that you pray for him and for his family. May his memory be eternal!

Now, I’ve been opinionated here lately, but I haven’t compiled any sort of list, and we all like a list, don’t we? So, I figured I’d create a list that is purely my opinion but, from knowing how many people in and out of wrestling feel, it will be a series of opinions shared by many too. Every Royal Rumble has to start with someone and these pairs of competitors tend to have some meaning behind their appearances.

One of the things that makes the Royal Rumble so great is the illusion that everything is random. When the countdown ends, we don’t truly know who is going to run out most of the time. The full roster is a mystery, as is its order. But only in storyline. After all, wrestling is predetermined, so all of this is planned and written. That’s why the last five or six spots are usually the heavy hitters.

The #30 spot tends to be pretty straightforward. Outside of the three times when it’s gone to the winner, the final entrant is usually a specific kind of wrestler who is supposed to come off as high-level and threatening, but one that we know has zero real chance winning the match.

The pro wrestling world is in mourning today after the loss of one of sports entertainment's most colorful and iconic managers and entertainers. Bobby Heenan, a.k.a. "The Brain," passed away at age 73. While no cause of death was announced, the famous loudmouth manager had been in poor health for years, after he was diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2002. The world of sports entertainment is in mourning today, as it was confirmed this morning that legendary WWE Superstar George 'The Animal' Steele, a.k.a. William James Myers, has passed away at the age of 79. The pro wrestler's death was confirmed by his wife Patricia, who revealed that he passed from kidney failure last night in Florida. The wrestling legend had been in and out of hospice care since April.

The professional wrestling world is in mourning today, after news broke last night that Joanie Laurer, best known as WWE Superstar Chyna, passed away at the age of 45. We showed you a number of social media posts that came in last night, from pro wrestlers past and present, paying tribute to this squared circle icon. One of the best heavyweights of his or any generation, the double-tough Georgian had two stints with the company that produced tremendous results. As the former prison guard out of Cobb County, Georgia, he first established himself as a hated heel, determined to put Hulk Hogan down and out of professional wrestling.

Over time, though, he showed great respect and dignity, doing the right thing during a program involving Jake Roberts and Ted Dibiase and turning babyface in the process. It was in that role that he is most remembered, an upper midcard performer who mixed it up with main event talent on occasion but could always be trusted to carry any program handed down to him by management.

For the past few years, documentary filmmaker David Sinnott has been shoot-interviewing wrestlers and professional fighters, compiling material for his documentary, Nine Legends. It’s a true Mount Rushmore of fighters as well, more than delivering on the ‘Legend’ promise of the title.

The full list of those interviewed by Sinnott for the project are: Goldberg, Bret Hart, The Dynamite Kid, Rob Van Dam, Mike Tyson, Randy Couture, Lita, Ted Dibiase and Chris Jericho. Quite the range of stars, I’m sure you’ll agre.

Fans of wrestling docs may already recognise Sinnott’s name from his acclaimed 2009 effort, Bloodstained Memoirs, which followed a similar template, interviewing another 9 stars, including the likes of Ultimo Dragon, Mick Foley, The Great Muta, Roddy Piper and others.

In Nine Legends, the film hangs on a fictional narrative of an elderly Sinnott, in the year 2050, recounting the stories of his interviews to his grandson.

Cody Rhodes has, to date, had a strange old career.

Making his WWE debut back in 2007, many in the company considered Cody a future main event star. As of yet, that hasn’t happened, and it seems unrealistic to suggest that Stardust will be headlining PPVs any time soon. Aside from become World Champion, there isn’t much Rhodes hasn’t done in the promotion, however.

A 2-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, he has also held the Tag-Team Titles on 6 different occasions. To elicit a genuinely heated reaction from the crowd took a level of finesse that only a few have ever truly mastered. A role pioneered by the legendary Gorgeous George – whose persona was later emulated by the likes of Muhammad Ali – a true “heel” lives to be hated.

We have seen our fair share of great examples over the years. SummerSlam is often billed as “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” and Sunday night’s 27th installment was no exception.
