Was second choice to play Mike TeeVee's mom, in Willy Wonka au pays enchanté (1971). The producer's first choice was Jean Stapleton, who declined, for a TV pilot, instead. The pilot was All in the family (1971).

Prior to her death, Ms Denney retired from acting, and lived in the KansasCity area (according to the actors' commentary on Willy Wonka au pays enchanté (1971).'s DVD).

Her sons Dix Denney and John Denney are the founders of the Los Angeles based punk band The Weirdos.

Started her career on local Missouri TV playing Marilyn the Witch on "The Witching Hour."

In 2021, Dolores Denny - "Marilyn The Witch" - "The Witching Hour", was inducted into "The Official Horror Host Hall of Fame".
