Whenever a console or hardware brand releases numerous games each generation, most fans tend to completely overlook several titles. Xbox has experienced this on multiple occasions, as larger games often overshadow intriguing protagonists.
Well-known franchises like Dead Rising or Gears of War have had moments where certain protagonists or main characters didn’t receive the attention they deserved. Here are 13 Xbox protagonists who have not received the deserved attention.

Akira Toriyama collaborated on this entirely original project, which became stuck on the Xbox 360 and never saw a sequel or adaptation to another platform. Its protagonist, a young boy named Shu, along with his friends, wants to find a solution to save his village.
Despite being innocent, this character is quite bold when it comes to taking action to fight for what he cares about. This game deserved more...

The Perfect Dark reboot takes on immersive sim elements, offering dynamic gameplay options. After the closure of Arkane Austin, a new immersive sim is a surprise. If Perfect Dark is as good as it looks, it could be both immediately engaging and highly replayable.
I didn't go into the 2024 Summer Game Fest weekend thinking about the Perfect Dark reboot, but after the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, it might be the thing I'm most excited about. Up until this point, Perfect Dark's return hadn't exactly looked promising, with reports of troubled development clouding several years of radio silence since its initial reveal. I'm also not someone who tends to be particularly enticed by remakes and remasters, even if it had seemed like Perfect Dark was going along swimmingly.
If the Perfect Dark reboot was being approached as a generally straightforward update, there's no reason why it wouldn't be easy to pull off.

Nintendo Switch Online has announced a significant expansion of Nintendo 64 games, but a few classics have yet to be accounted for. Thus far Nso's Nintendo 64 collection has included a good amount of quality games, as well as famous titles like Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. Despite this, a few big games from the console's lifespan still haven't had the opportunity to return to the spotlight.
Thanks to Nintendo Switch Online, several Nintendo 64 games are available to anyone with a subscription to the Expansion Pack tier. Most of the main attractions so far are Mario titles, as well as both Legend of Zelda games for the N64. Pokémon Stadium games are coming to Nso this year, adding two of the...

Perfect Dark returned at The Game Awards 2020 as Microsoft confirmed that recently formed studio The Initiative is working on a title set in the franchise’s universe.
Very little is known about the game at this time, but you can get a brief look at what the revival has in store by checking out its debut trailer:
What little else we know about this project besides the information made available in the trailer above comes from a brief pre-roll from The Initiative team that aired during The Game Awards. In it, the team revealed that Perfect Dark will feature a story that seemingly focuses on the global impact of corporate advancements. It seems that the environment took a big hit in the name of progress, but there was also a hint that we may get a peek into the more advanced world that emerged before that happened.

Perfect Dark, the long-dormant first-person shooter series created by Rare, is destined to find a new home in cinema, it would seem.
Sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us Ben Affleck is returning for The Flash and a Witcher prequel is in development – have revealed that Sony Pictures is reportedly in the early stages of developing the video game adaptation, the plot for which is said to be based specifically on Perfect Dark Zero. It’s worth noting, of course, that while the game of the same name, released back in 2005 as a launch title for Xbox 360, succeeded the original 2000 game for Nintendo 64, Zero is a prequel set several years prior to the Skedar invasion of Earth as depicted in the latter. As a jumping off point for a potential series, then, starting with an origin story for protagonist Joanna Dark makes the most sense.
