The 9-1-1 franchise is growing with the new spinoff series, 9-1-1: Nashville, which is set to have its debut this fall. Ahead of its release, ABC just treated fans to the first look at the new cast.

The first teaser for 9-1-1: Nashville teased that the first responders will deal with something unheard of: a flaming tornado. The teaser was first released in mid-June, with promo for the upcoming 9-1-1 spinoff firing up. Ahead of the show's release, TVLine just unveiled the first look at the characters.

The 30-second promotional clip didn't feature any of the cast or footage from the series, but it introduces the cast members, with a cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" playing as the soundtrack. It also features a flaming tornado, which hints at the unexpected hardships the firefighters will deal with in the new series.

Jane Morgan, the elegant American singer who dazzled audiences in Paris nightclubs, on just about every TV variety show of her era and at the Oscars and had a hit record with the lovely standard “Fascination,” has died. She was 101.

Morgan was in hospice care and died Monday in her sleep of natural causes in Naples, Florida, her family announced.

A classy performer known for her silky smooth phrasing, Morgan moved from New York to France in the late 1940s to build her career before returning the U.S. and becoming a very popular singer through the mid-1960s.

She recorded about 40 albums around the world and sang in five languages, making her a true international star.

Coyote vs. Acme is officially back from the dead, and it’s heading to theaters around the world on August 28, 2026. The announcement came during a lively panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where cast and crew celebrated the movie’s surprising return.

The hybrid live-action and animation film, originally made by Warner Bros., was shelved in 2023 as part of a tax write-off move. It seemed like the movie would never see the light of day. But that changed when Ketchup Entertainment stepped in and bought the worldwide rights for around $50 million.

The company had also rescued another abandoned Looney Tunes film, The Day the Earth Blew Up, which ended up making over $15 million worldwide.

Paul Scheer, who hosted the Comic-Con panel, poked fun at the movie’s rocky journey. “This movie wasn’t supposed to come out,” he said. “I heard Warner Bros wouldn’t release the film — I’ve never heard of Warner Bros!

Director Sean Ellis has had an unusual career; if it seems like his fellow Brits, David Mackenzie and Kevin Macdonald have been genre-agnostic, Ellis has taken things a step farther. He remains best known for the deeply affecting drama Metro Manila, which is essentially a foreign-language film. But a few years ago, he tried his hand at horror. He directed the werewolf movie The Cursed, starring Kelly Reilly and Boyd Holbrook, and while the film didn't make much of a dent at the box office, it's climbing up the streaming ranks following its Netflix debut.

9-1-1: Nashville reveals its first trailer, with connections to the spinoff's main plot point. Hailing from franchise co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear, in addition to 9-1-1: Lone Star showrunner Rashad Raisini, 9-1-1: Nashvilleis set to debut on ABC later this year. The second spinoff in the franchise, coming after 9-1-1: Lone Star, has already recruited NCIS: Los Angeles alum Chris O'Donnell and Grey's Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw in leading roles. It has also brought two big Nashville names: LeeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

On the show's official Facebook page, 9-1-1: Nashvillerevealed its first trailer and highlighted how music will have a big connection to the spinoff. As chaos unfolds in the teaser, with fire everywhere, the brief teaser highlights the main cast and underlines the fact that Nashville's status as Music City will be a significant focus of the upcoming spinoff.

Titled Covers, the three-song project sees the Swedish singer deliver renditions of “Into My Arms” by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, and “Love Hurts’ by The Everly Brothers, showcasing her haunting croon and knack for minimalist arrangements.

The cover of “Into My Arms,” in particular, builds off the stripped back tone of Cave’s original, building out the sonic space with an ethereal, swirling atmosphere and reverb-clad melodies, all while retaining the intimacy of Cave’s lyrics.

Covers arrives today via Play It Again Sam as a surprise, and can be streamed below.

Covers is Li’s first collection of songs since her 2022 album, Eyeye, and follows another cover (of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”) released in March 2024.

Margo Price is celebrating her deep roots in country music on her upcoming album. On Tuesday, the musician announced that Hard Headed Woman, her fifth studio album, is out Aug. 29.

The musician made the LP — her first album in Nashville — at RCA Studio A alongside producer Matt Ross-Spang. The record features Jesse Welles on “Don’t Wake Me Up” and Tyler Childers on “Love Me Like You Used to Do,” along with the single “Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down,” which dropped Tuesday with an accompanying music video.

Margo Price is set to return with a brand new album. It’s called Hard Headed Woman and arrives August 29th via Loma Vista Recordings. To accompany the record’s announcement, the country singer-songwriter also shared the new song “Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down.” Stream it below.

The new set follows Price’s celebrated 2023 release Strays and finds the artist reuniting with producer Matt Ross-Spang. Snoop Dogg has a biopic that's currently in development, set to bring the life story of the famed rapper to the big screen. The first question fans will likely have about the movie is who will be playing the music icon, and the answer to that has just been revealed.

Per Deadline, actor Jonathan Daviss has been tapped to portray Snoop Dogg in the upcoming biopic in the works at Universal Pictures. The announcement comes just days after it was reported that Craig Brewer had signed on to direct the feature film. Snoop Dogg is on board as a producer on the project alongside Brian Grazer and Death Row Pictures President Sara Ramaker.

Daviss is best known for his Netflix work, particularly as one of the stars of the hit series Outer Banks. The Houston native plays the role of Pope on the show, which is set to end with its upcoming fifth season.

The Complete Johnny Cash: Lyrics from A Lifetime of Songwriting (pre-order here) collects Cash’s lyrics and entries from his personal notebooks, diaries, pronouncements, and private pages. The book will be published on October 14th. It is 720 pages and will cost $60.

The Complete Johnny Cash features his catalogue of over 500 songs and 38 never-before seen handwritten lyrics and poems including “A Man Should Try” and “Everything’s Alright,” according to a press release. It is organized chronologically and with added commentary by Mark Stielper. The foreword is written by the singer’s son, John Carter Cash.

Shaboozey is clarifying his viral reaction at the 2025 American Music Awards and noting it had nothing to do with his co-presenter Megan Moroney.

The country star presented the Favorite Country Duo or Group category at the AMAs in Las Vegas on Monday night alongside Moroney.

Reading off the teleprompter, Moroney said the award they were going to present had been awarded to The Carter Family, “who basically invented country music.” This remark prompted a side-eye from Shaboozey, which turned him into an instant meme.
