In 2017 the President of Mongolia has issued a decree on awarding film director Peter Brosens the Polar Star Order. The presidential decree reads, "In high recognition of his contribution to development of Mongolian film art and promotion of Mongolian history, culture and lifestyle to the world through motion pictures, a national of the Kingdom of Belgium and film director, Mr. Peter Brosens is hereby awarded the Polar Star, a State Prize of Mongolia.".
