The "Q" stands for Quenton, his first name.

Nephew of director Lino Brocka.

On Guam, Brocka discovered a love for filmmaking. With VHS Camcorders in the 1980s, he produced movies with Legos and other toys. Then he asked kids in his apartment to create TV shows with him.

Is half Filipino and half Caucasian.

Wanted to create stories with characters that acted like him, and earned an MFA in film at California Institute of the Arts.

At the University of Washington, Brocka studied communications and watched Desperate Living (1977) and Pink Flamingos (1972) by John Waters, one of the godfathers of cult cinema.
