He played a television presenter who interviews Phil Collins at the beginning of the music video for his hit single "Two Hearts" (1988).

In an interview on The One Show (2006), he claimed the hit single "Love Is the Answer" by the soft rock duo England Dan & John Ford Coley was his favourite record.

He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2024 King's New Years Honours List for his services to Broadcasting and to Charity. He is a broadcaster in London, England.
