The Hunt for Gollum is bringing back some big Lord of the Rings names, but there are others that fans would love to see return more than Gollum.

The Lord of the Rings fans are long used to seeing memorable characters returning in later projects. The Hobbit (for better or for worse) brought back Gandalf, Galadriel, Legolas, and others to link the two trilogies together. The Rings of Power, set thousands of years in the past, features Galadriel, Gandalf, and Sauron.

Now, all eyes are on The Hunt for Gollum, a spinoff movie directed by Andy Serkis, who also reprises his role as the twisted figure who once owned the One Ring.

Hammer Films is set to celebrate its milestone 90th anniversary with the world premiere of a new 4K restoration of The Curse of Frankenstein, the 1957 classic that cemented the studio as a global force in horror. The premiere takes place on 1 October at Vue Cinema London – West End, the very site that hosted the film’s original debut almost seven decades ago.

Tim Burton has made a ton of memorable horror films over the years, like Beetlejuice and Frankenweenie. However, one of the director's most beloved works of the 21st century has been Corpse Bride. The stop-motion animated gothic romance is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Now, Monster High has joined the party with a new doll based on Corpse Bride.

A part of their Skullector Doll series, Mattel’s latest Monster High addition is the Corpse Bride herself, Emily. The figure comes with a spiderweb mesh and silky blue bridal gown and the 10.5-inch scale piece has 11 points of articulation. It's also the first sculpt from Monster High that features a skeletal arm, leg, and rip cage. As Mattel put it:

Dracula, Bram Stoker's 1897 novel, endures as a towering monument of gothic literature, its shadow stretching across centuries and cultures. With a mesmerizing blend of horror, sensuality, and dark romanticism, the Count has seduced generations of readers and filmmakers alike, from F.W. Murnau's silent nightmare Nosferatu (1922) to Bela Lugosi's haunting gaze in Dracula (1931).

Christopher Lee starred in Hammer's Dracula movies, his sanguine presence on full display in ten films, cementing the Count's cinematic immortality. Later, Francis Ford Coppola's opulent 1992 adaptation draped the tale in velvet and tragedy. More recently, Robert Eggers breathed eerie life into the legend with a new Nosferatu. Each adaptation reflects each era's fears and fascinations, but the Count's hypnotic pull remains undiminished.

Moseley will appear as Sheriff Troy, but it is unclear whether he'll play a skeptical law enforcement officer, akin to Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive (1993), or a menacing misfit, similar to R. While director Tim Burton is best known for live-action films like Beetlejuiceand Batman, the filmmaker has more than a few killer animated features under his sinister belt. The one that often gets talked about is The Nightmare Before Christmas – a film which he didn't even direct. However, out of the stop-motion animation classics he did indeed direct, Corpse Bride is arguably his most celebrated in that artful category. Now, in honor of the film’s 20th anniversary, Corpse Bride is finally coming to 4K Blu-ray.

Warner Bros. will be releasing Corpse Bride via a 4K/Digital combo pack steelbook. While the spooky edition doesn't have a release date yet, there is cover art to admire. The outside is simply the film’s logo on a black background, but the inside artwork is more defined. The inner workings of the steelbook feature Emily, aka the “corpse bride,” with a few of the eerie underworld residents.

Raw Meat, also known as Death Line, will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 30 via Blue Underground.

The 1972 horror film has been newly restored in 4K from the original, uncensored camera negative with Dolby Vision Hdr as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS-hd Master Audio sound.

The story of Count Dooku is far deeper than most casual Star Wars fans may realize. By the time we meet him in the prequel trilogy, where he's played by Christopher Lee, he had already fallen from the Jedi Order into the arms of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. But Dooku was the Anakin Skywalker of his day. He was the Hero, the Rogue, the Ignored. His fall from grace was a catastrophic failure on the part of the Jedi; Anakin’s own fall was merely the final nail in the coffin.

Dooku’s complicated story is something that should be explored in as much detail as possible, ideally in a multi-film or multi-season TV series. Let's have a look at how that could work.

Back in 2023 the January film “doldrems”, when often the thriller “dregs” would be dumped into the hungry multiplex, a chiller with a satiric “bite” brought us a new horror “heroine”. Well, she’s baaack! Finally, leaping off the toy shelf and into our nightmares comes M3GAN 2.0.

This one begins far away from the sunny California suburbs of the original. In the Middle East...

Over the span of eight seasons, Rick and Morty has been absolutely bizarre, with inside jokes, pop culture references, and even spawning meme kings. Needless to say, over this long period, the series has been absolutely mental, with each episode introducing a little more trauma while also introducing new characters and a weirder narrative.

One such moment took place in Season 2 Episode 4, where the fans were introduced to Mr. Poopybutthole, an absurd-looking character, and a more peculiar catchphrase, “Ooh whee.” The mysterious being has been a part of several sad narratives, but his debut was perhaps the saddest of all.

Oldman's Dracula was a game-changer in the vampire genre, as the actor fully embodied a monster suffering for love. It didn't matter if he was wearing heavy makeup, or playing the handsome Count that Mina Harker falls in love with, you understood that vampire's tragic story. As a child of the 90s, I grew up with Stephen Herek’s version of The Three Musketeers. It’s not particularly well-regarded these days, but with a cast including Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Chris O’Donnell, and Tim Curry, it perfectly encapsulated its era and served as a solidly entertaining swashbuckler, at least through the eyes of a seven-year-old boy.

I was aware of other adaptations, including Richard Lester’s, but for decades, Harek’s film was my sole experience with the characters of Alexandre Dumas’ iconic novel on screen. Now, with a digitally remastered 4K edition coming to the Criterion Collection, I’ve seen what is arguably the superior adaptation.
