Best known for his role as James Bellamy in the classic British television series, Maîtres et valets (1971).

Voted best supporting actor by readers of Doctor Who Magazine for Remembrance Of The Daleks

Educated at Harrow School.

His first role was as the Genie in the Lamp in Aladdin. He was meant to leap onto the stage bare chested but being a cold winter, he put on an old cardigan while waiting in the wings. His cue came and he leaped on to the stage, forgetting to remove the cardigan.

Joined Worthing Repertory against his father's wishes, who wanted him to go into the hotel business.
