New WWE Signing Mariah May Receives Rare Honor Only Few Superstars Like John Cena Enjoy
Image
WWE added more firepower to their women’s division with their latest acquisition in the form of Mariah May. Britain’s heartthrob, May, has been a professional wrestler for the past six years, but apart from her in-ring credentials, she is also a model and an actress. May started her wrestling career back in 2019 as an in-ring announcer.

May trained at Knucklelocks Gym in London and the Cacc Snake Pit in Japan, which played a crucial part in shaping her early days. Finally, in late 2023, May joined Aew as an admirer of Toni Storm. Eventually, May went on from being an admirer to a rival, defeating Storm to win the Aew Women’s World Championship at Aew All In.

It Makes Me Sad John Cena Won’t Face These 5 WWE Legends Again Before His Retirement

Even though John Cena has abandoned his motto “hustle, loyalty, and respect” in his recent heel turn, which he upheld during most of his career, he remains one of the most iconic and consequential superstars of the WWE.

A true representative of the company, John Cena is currently a 17-time world champion, and has equalled the record of legendary Ric Flair, and cemented his place as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Yet there are WWE superstars he couldn’t face during his long career.

The Undertaker Deserves an Oscar For Not Breaking Character Even If Stone Cold Tried His Best
Image
The Undertaker is widely regarded as one of the most professional wrestlers in WWE history. Throughout his career, he remained committed to his dark, grumpy, and mysterious persona, rarely breaking character. However, there were moments when even he nearly slipped due to the antics of other WWE superstars, especially Kurt Angle and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

One of the most famous instances occurred during the iconic Alliance vs. WWE storyline, where The Undertaker almost laughed because of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s antics.

Back in 2001, Vince McMahon bought Ecw and WCW and turned them into an exciting storyline. Wrestlers from Ecw and WCW joined forces to form an alliance and started attacking WWE stars during their matches. Vince McMahon Put John Cena in Lakers’ Jersey to Get Revenge on an NBA Team
Image
When we come to think of the shrewdest and most cunning businessmen, the name of Vincent Kennedy McMahon, more popularly known as Vince McMahon, is up there. Despite his legacy being tarnished over legal issues since 2024, it can’t be denied that he revolutionized the wrestling industry, becoming the biggest sports entertainment brand with his WWF/WWE.

Interestingly enough, over the years, there have been many instances where he has outright ascertained the claims of him being outright petty. From firing superstars for talking back to him to sacking big talents without hesitation, the Evil Genius’ ego is as big as it gets.

However, sometimes pettiness reaches new heights because Mr. McMahon wants to prove his point. This is how it went in 2009 when he made the LA Lakers and Denver Nuggets face off inside the ring after Raw was forced to move from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

1 WWE Legend Has a Problem With Big Show Calling John Cena the Strongest Wrestler
Image
John Cena has accomplished the unthinkable during his illustrious WWE career. He has won a record-tying number of world titles, lifted some of the biggest men in the industry, and dominated the business for more than ten years.

Nevertheless, many people in the WWE Universe rarely mention Cena when discussing the strongest wrestlers of all time. Unexpectedly, The Big Show is one man who vehemently disagrees with that viewpoint.

The giant claims that Cena’s strength is real, having seen it in the ring. However, things took an intriguing turn when another WWE legend openly contested Big Show’s viewpoint, igniting a new discussion among fans.

Roman Reigns is Lying About His Weight: Bradley Martyn Says Roman Cannot be 260 lbs Heavy

Roman Reigns stands as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in WWE history, leading the Bloodline and dominating the ring with legendary feuds and victories over countless superstars. A two-time champion, he holds the record for the longest championship reign in the promotion’s history at an incredible 1,316 days.

However, controversy recently arose when Raw talk host Bradley Martyn suggested that Reigns might be dishonest about his weight. While it’s not uncommon for WWE wrestlers to exaggerate their stats to appear more imposing, the accusation that Reigns has also misrepresented his weight is truly surprising.

Heaviest WWE Star of All Time, Yokozuna is a Lot Heavier Than Big Show and Mark Henry
Image
We have witnessed several giants inside the WWE throughout its history. From Andre the Giant to Big Show to Mark Henry, there have been many monstrous and heavy wrestlers.

Though these wrestlers weren’t agile inside the ring, they entertained the audience with the sheer power and brutality that was inflicted on their opponents. Even though Andre the Giant was one of the most notable names in the WWE, he wasn’t the heaviest.

Yokozuna, the Japanese sumo wrestler managed by Mr. Fuji, was the heaviest wrestler ever in the WWE. When he made his entrance in the ring, everyone looked at him in awe due to his gigantic size.

Big Show Was Andre the Giant’s Son in WWE: Vince McMahon’s Crappy Idea to Trick the Fans
Image
Storylines have always been a cornerstone of WWE, captivating audiences with dramatic twists, intense rivalries, and larger-than-life characters. However, it’s no secret that the company has often stretched the limits of believability, sometimes crafting narratives and relationships that defy logic. One such example can be found in The Big Show’s early career.

When Big Show made his debut in WWE, he was an instant sensation. Towering over the competition, even by WWE standards, his sheer size and presence commanded attention. But to further enhance his mystique and establish his character, WWE introduced a bizarre gimmick that left many fans scratching their heads.

Wrestling is one of the most commercialized sports in the world. It doesn’t just focus on the professional side of wrestling; there is also a whole entertainment side to it. One of the kingpins of the commercialized wrestling world is WWE, formerly known as the WWF.

They changed the way wrestling was viewed, introducing larger-than-life characters, adding a storyline, and creating a narration of heroes and villains, which immensely grew its popularity. With the growing popularity came more viewers and money. WWE has found many ways to capitalize on its connectivity with fans, one of the most resourceful being selling pay-per-view (PPV) events.

7 Biggest Nepo Babies in WWE Including Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns
Image
A few weeks ago, John Cena called Cody Rhodes a “nepo baby” in one of the promos before their main event on Night 2 of WrestleMania 41. As most of you know, Cody Rhodes is the son of the late Dusty Rhodes and the brother of Dustin Rhodes (Goldust). This is a family business for him, and there are so many others who come from an even longer line of wrestlers.

To say that the wrestling business is filled with “nepo babies” would be an understatement. And like most jobs, some do very well, but others fail miserably. The talent to climb obstacles matters, despite your lineage. However, there is no substitute for hard work, and sometimes, the right amount of talent, hard work, and nepotism can push you to the top.

Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar Real Wrestling Match: Who Really Won?
Image
Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar are two of the biggest WWE superstars of all time. Kurt Angle is an Olympic Gold Medalist who won a gold medal in Atlanta at the 1996 games. A famous story involves Angle wrestling with a broken neck. Lesnar is a monster of a man who was an NCAA Division I heavyweight champion while at the University of Minnesota.

Lesnar is the very definition of athletically gifted: He is a large man with speed. Both Lesnar and Angle are in WWE and even had scripted rivalries within the ring, including a match at WrestleMania 19, in which Angle ended up being injured.

The backstage challenge: how it started

The “real” wrestling match between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar actually began with a backstage bet. Angle described the story on The Joe Rogan Experience (episode 2036) when he says, “Some guy just went up to Lesnar and said, how...

Hulk Hogan Blames the Rock for Ruining John Cena’s Heel Run, Wanted Them to Make the Babyfaces Cry Like nWo Did
Image
There are a few wrestlers who get so big alongside the transition of the company that they somehow get a hallmark to their name. For example, the likes of Razor Ramon, the man who immortalised the art of being a heel, and such was his persona that even thinking about him being a baby face felt weird. Similarly, if we take a look at the other side of the spectrum, the likes of Hulk Hogan and John Cena, they ran wild with their babyface personas.

When Hulk Hogan turned on WCW, joining the New World Order alongside Diesel and Razor Ramon, the world was left stunned and speechless. In a similar display, when John Cena delivered a low blow to Cody Rhodes after 25 years of being the poster boy baby face of the industry, the wrestling universe still tried to make sense of what really happened.

John Cena vs Randy Orton Face to Face Stats in WWE Title Match: It’s Obvious Why Triple H Wants Another Match Before Cena Retires
Image
As a WWE fan, there are names that are attached to great matches and great moments. John Cena and Randy Orton are two of them. Their feud has lasted nearly 20 years, which is a substantial piece of wrestling history that displays Cena’s unwavering fire and Orton’s unforgiving disrespect.

Their relationship outside of the wrestling business, as they have been childhood friends, helps elevate their arguments in the squared circle.

The two share something special, as per my feelings. On Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania 41, Randy took the WWE Universe by surprise with an Rko on Cena. In one moment, Triple H helped revitalize a feud that has been dormant for 11 years now, and it was evident that this storyline is still extremely exciting.

One of the greatest on-screen rivalries

Cena and Orton’s rivalry started in 2005, and as a fan, seeing them trade blows over the WWE Championship was just magic.

The Undertaker Slapped Big Show in Real Life, Knew Kane Would Have His Back If the WWE’s Giant Tried to Attack Him

As WrestleMania 41 is less than a week from now, speculations have already been building around the presence of the man who defined the Showcase of Immortals with his towering stature over the years, The Undertaker. Mark Calaway, the icon of pro-wrestling, has carved an enviable legacy over the years in the Stamford-based company.

He has faced rivals of contrasting statures featuring the likes of Hulk Hogan, Yokozuna, Diesel, Mankind, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the list goes on and on. Talking about his rivals, if there was one man with whom he shared a love-and-hate relationship, it was The Big Show. Towering tall over The Undertaker, he was his rival at times, and at times he was his tag-team partner.

The Star Trek Character You Likely Forgot WWE Wrestler Big Show Played
Image
The "Star Trek: Enterprise" episode "Borderland" was significant within "Star Trek" lore. It was the first part of a three-episode arc that finally offered a canonical reason as to why Klingons looked like humans in the original "Star Trek" series, but had large, outsize foreheads in "Star Trek: The Next Generation." It seems that a mad geneticist named Arik Soong (Brent Spiner) had been tinkering with genetic enhancements, creating "ideal" versions of humanity called Augments. In the lore of "Star Trek," such genetic enhancements are strictly verboten, as previous such attempts led to a vicious Eugenics War on Earth. Soong's ostracized Augments fell in with Klingon society, and began having children. The kids of Augments and Klingons looked like 1966-era Klingons. The DNA, Soon argues, will be bred out within a few generations. Hence, why Klingons looked different on "Next Generation."

"Borderland" was just the opening act of the story,...

Rey Mysterio is regarded as one of the greatest luchadors in professional wrestling. He took the legacy of his predecessors and touched greater heights than was unimaginable for the size and stature of a wrestler like him.

The Master of the 619 made his debut in WWE in 2002. He began his rise to the top, battling opponents like Eddie Guerrero, Randy Orton, and Big Show. Four years after his debut, Rey Mysterio captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22 in memorable fashion.

Although he left the company in 2015 and explored outside promotions, it was in 2018 that he returned, and since then, he has been a strong part of the active roster. In doing so, Rey Mysterio has wrestled 1500 matches in WWE, which is a historic feat for any superstar in the company.

10 Best Wrestler Cameos In Movies, Ranked
Image
Fans love to equate WWE programming to that of "cinema" but cinema is an entirely different beast compared to professional wrestling. That isn't to discredit professional wrestling by any means. It's live theatre, at its core, and theatre is a distant cousin to filmmaking, but nonetheless, movies present a unique challenge for in-ring competitors.

Not everyone is cut out for acting or moviemaking, wrestlers included, but those who have been able to transition their in-ring charisma into movies have always been bound for success. It may not necessarily be for a marquee leading role, but it could be for a show-stealing cameo that leads to more. After all, The Rock's small role in The Mummy 2 led to starring in The Scorpion King. He went from having tremendous WWE matches to mega-blockbusters. Which other WWE Superstars have made some notable cameos?

Jeri Ryan didn't know who The Rock was and it led to some unintended hilarity
Image
Let's flash back to 2000. In February of that year, Star Trek: Voyager was airing its second-to-last season and was doing everything it could to stay in the zeitgeist. They brought in Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine in season four, a huge boon for the brand. Later, they started partnering up with Upn who was looking to get as much of their product seen by people as possible.

They landed the WWE (then WWF) in 1999 with the hit Thursday night show, WWF SmackDown. To further capitalize on that, Star Trek began a tradition of bringing over some of the stars of the squared circle. A move that wasn't shocking at all, to be honest, as shows that shared the same network would often bring over other major actors or actresses to co-star. It could and did happen even if the shows didn't share a network.

Like in 1998 when Voyager brought...

90 Day Fiance: Joanne gives haters a ‘reality check’ for ‘ugly’ comments about her appearance
James Solis and Meitalia Tantri Solis in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way (2019)
Joanne DeGesu has a message for her haters.

The 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way newcomer has found herself at the center of some harsh criticism on social media.

Since debuting her love story with her husband, Seán, on Season 6 of the 90 Day Fiance spinoff, Joanne has learned that being in the public eye can be a double-edged sword.

Admittedly, Joanne is “loving” the reality television ride, but the experience hasn’t come without its downsides.

That includes “ugly” comments from haters on social media who have made disparaging remarks about her appearance and her character.

Joanne took to Instagram over the weekend to call out some of her haters, sharing screenshots of their social media comments.

Joanne shares comments from online bullies

One such hater told 44-year-old Joanne she looked like she was 55. Another wrote, “My back looks better than her face.”

Another critic added, “[Seán] is way better looking than her.

'No Callback, No Nothing': WWE's Randy Orton Was Shocked to Fail Deadpool 2 Audition
Image
WWE icon Randy Orton has dabbled a bit with acting, though he missed out on landing a major role in Deadpool 2. Orton can still remember how confident he felt about his audition, only to be left surprised when he didn't even get called back.

Orton's Deadpool 2 audition came up during a conversation with fellow wrestler Cody Rhodes on WWE's "What Do You Wanna Talk About?" podcast. When discussing auditions, Orton mentioned how he was up for playing the role of playing the Marvel character Cable in Deadpool 2, the role that ultimately went to Josh Brolin. As this was one of his first big auditions after signing up for representation in Hollywood, the 14-time world champion still had a thing or two to learn about how the film industry works. Because of this, Orton was shocked that he didn't even come close to getting the role, though he...

Match #1: Aew Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match – Toni Storm def. Taya Valkyrie The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Ian Riccaboni joined Tony and Nigel on commentary for Battle of the Belts. Toni took down Taya with a Thesz Press and grounded and pounded her with left and right fists! Storm smashed Taya with a running hip attack. Outside the ring, Taya lured Toni into the steel ring steps and charged at Toni with the meteora. Storm rallied back with a hip attack in the ring. Toni spiked Taya with a Ddt for a near fall. Taya slid beneath Storm and the bottom rope and nailed Toni with a German Suplex.

The Undertaker is the greatest of all time in the pro wrestling business. Though he had some flaws, his earnest efforts to give whatever he had made him one of the biggest names in the industry. Other than that, he was well-known for his work ethic and loyalty. He enjoyed a dream run of decades in WWE and never tried his hand at other promotions, unlike some other veterans. However, there was a moment when the legend almost jumped ship!

The phenom was a close friend of Vince McMahon, and it’s known to all how much the ex-boss of WWE loved him. Whenever, the veteran was inside the ring, he ensured the safe working environment for his opponents. Chris Jericho Once Took A Dig At WWE For Disrespecting The Icons(Photo Credit –YouTube/Instagram)

It’s no lie that Chris Jericho made his entire career during his stint with WWE. He was one of the most prominent figures during the Attitude Era, and even later, he maintained his superstar status with his mic skills and entertaining persona. However, a few years back, he cut ties with the promotion and joined the rival camp, Aew. Ever since then, he has been vocal about the negatives of his ex-company.

Aew (All Elite Wrestling) was founded in 2019, and Tony Khan serves as its president and CEO. When this promotion was founded, it became a major attraction in the pro wrestling world, and several WWE stars jumped ship. The real shocker was witnessed when veterans like Jericho, Mark Henry, Big Show, and Sting joined Khan’s promotion.

“I don’t want to see it ever again”: Dwayne Johnson Could Not Intimidate John Cena But Dcu’s Co-CEO James Gunn Does
Image
Dwayne Johnson and John Cena’s feud in the WWE was one of the most heated rivalries in the history of sports entertainment. The feud spanned for two long years, that is from 2011 to 2013 was arguably the most fiercest and heated saga between the two wrestling greats. But what made the rivalry more intense was that the beef stemmed from real-life heat and it is considered to be one of the episodes since the end of The Attitude Era.

The Rock vs John Cena at WrestleMania 28. Credits: WWE

During the feud, Cena was never intimidated by the Brahma Bull’s legendary status as he confronted him each time with great zeal and confidence. Though the 13-time WWE Champion is not the man to get uneasy, there’s one man who strikes fear in his heart, and he is not someone with whom he has shared the locker room with.

“Time and again…”: WWE Can’t Ignore Brock Lesnar Amid Vince McMahon Scandal After Making a Major Hall of Fame Announcement
Image
Brock Lesnar, recognized as one of the most versatile athletes in the history of combat and entertainment sports, has been a valuable asset to WWE for years. After his last match against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam in 2023, Lesnar has been notably absent from in-ring appearances. Despite his absence, WWE still acknowledges Lesnar, even amidst his alleged connection to Vince McMahon’s trafficking lawsuit.

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar has reached remarkable milestones in his WWE career, driven by his relentless aggression and larger-than-life personality. Aptly nicknamed The Beast Incarnate, this title perfectly encapsulates his dominant presence in the ring, highlighting his commanding prowess every time he steps into competition.

The Greatest Wrestlers Turned Actors of All Time
Image
Those who don’t follow professional wrestling may not appreciate just how tough and grueling it is. It isn’t enough to be on the road 200+ days a year, getting dropped on your head or your back every night, dealing with injuries, losing your spot on the roster, and worse. If you’ve seen films like The Iron Claw, The Wrestler, or the old Beyond the Mat documentary, you know that professional wrestling is grind like no other.

But the other aspect that goes underappreciated is how much wrestling relies on acting. If you have any hope of making it big, it isn’t enough to be able to do a tope suicida or Texas Cloverleaf on the way to a 5-star mat classic. You have to be able to act your role, day in and day out. Often, you have to act live, in front of an audience of thousands,...

Why Cm Punk and Cody Rhodes Returning to WWE Could Mean the End for Aew
Image
A long time in a professional wrestling world far, far away, Cody Rhodes was an executive vice president of All Elite Wrestling (Aew). Over time, The American Nightmare also garnered numerous title reigns in this alternative company that just added to his family's legacy. Nobody would suspect that a foundational player in Aew’s history would end up leaving the same wrestling federation that he helped to create. But as time went on, he became more and more disconnected with the audience (fans would note a disastrous and cringe-worthy weigh-in segment with Anthony Ogogo once again wrestling under a mask as Fuego Two).

Fortunately, the younger son of the late and great Dusty Rhodes found his way back to the place where it all began for him. On April 2nd, 2022, Cody Rhodes returned to WWE as Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent at Wrestlemania 38. Even though we shall not forget Cody’s...

‘Twilight,’ Now Restored, Is the Lost Hungarian Murder Mystery Masterpiece You Need to See
Image
Finally, an all-but-lost masterpiece lives again.

Hungarian filmmaker György Fehér, a protégé of his fellow countryman and master director Béla Tarr, died in 2002, but more than two decades later, his strange and stirring anti-mystery “Twilight” has been restored for the world to see.

You might recognize the story of a retiring detective pulled back in for One Last Job as he’s pushed to obsessive ends over a dead girl found missing in an ominous forest. “Twilight” is based on a 1955 novella by Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt that itself was adapted by Sean Penn into the 2001 film “The Pledge,” starring Jack Nicholson as the wizened alcoholic private eye chasing a serial killer who may or may not exist.

In Feher’s “Twilight,” the detective is played by Péter Haumann, and he’s looking for a murderer known only as The Giant and who only seems to exist in scratch drawings...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 111’ Review
Image
Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features only Four(!) matches this week and a show that only runs twenty-two(!) minutes. Once again we’ve got Elevation regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary. So let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Maki Itoh def. Ashley D’Amboise

My Thoughts: Always good to see Ashley D’Amboise in an Aew ring and on top of that we get the legend that is Maki Itoh in this match too! If I’m honest this one felt a little “off” – which can often occur when styles clash or aren’t as compatible as they could be.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Jericho Appreciation Society def. Mike Magnum, Jack Tomlinson, and Zack Clayton

My Thoughts: I’ve got to be honest, the Jas is getting really old now. And no disrespect to the trio involved in this match...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 110’ Review

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features only Four(!) matches this week and a sub-thirty minute running time. Once again we’ve got Elevation regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary. So let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Butcher, Blade and Kip Sabian def. Shunma Katsumata, Yuki Ueno and Mao

My Thoughts: It’s great to see some more Ddt talent making their way to the US and appearing in Aew – after all it worked out Great for Takeshita! Having the trio of Katsumata, Ueno and Mao face three long-standing and talented Aew veterans like The Butcher and The Blade and Kip Sabian made a lot of sense too. Shame the crowd wasn’t into this one though.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir def. The Renegades (Robyn and Charlette)

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 108’ Review
Image
Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features just matches this week. We’ve got regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary as usual. So let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Tony Nese and Ari Daivari def. Lane Summers and Campbell Myers

My Thoughts: This was an incredibly dull opening match and a squash match at that too. Nese and Daivari are, unfortunately, pretty much charisma-free and that doesn’t help their matches in the slightest; and with this match we didn’t even get any words from Mark Sterling to cover that fact up!

My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir def. Briar and Sage Hale

My Thoughts: This was another squash match from the team of Rose and Shafir. Interestingly, Jon Moxley revealed on a podcast this week that he’s been working with Shafir to try and...
