Chad Michael Murray's Upcoming Lindsay Lohan Disney Sequel Movie Can Redeem His Divisive Recent Netflix Rom-Coms
Image
Netflix's The Merry Gentlemen and Mother of the Bride have three things in common they premiered in 2024, feature Chad Michael Murray, and weren't well received among critics and audiences alike. While the reception of both films is quite disappointing, the good news is that Murray's next movie (a long-awaited Disney sequel starring Lindsay Lohan) will likely be a hit given its hype and precedent. The actor just has to leave The Merry Gentlemen and Mother of the Bride in the past and look ahead to bigger and brighter things.

The Merry Gentlemen (2024) ‘Netflix’ Movie Review: So Banal That Even the Holiday Cheers Can’t Save It
Joan Cusack, Jason Schwartzman, Rashida Jones, Sergio Pablos, Will Sasso, J.K. Simmons, and Neda Margrethe Labba in La Légende de Klaus (2019)
The Holiday season is upon us, and so is the season of unoriginal Christmas-themed rom-coms. With an obvious attempt to disassociate myself from The Grinch, I would like to add that I am quite the sucker for films that embrace the Yuletide cheers. Originality is not the first thing I look for when it comes to Christmas Movies, although it does not hurt when something uniquely joyful wanders into our path at this time of the year — like 2019’s “Klaus” for instance. However, I can look past the obvious, the cliched, for the predictable comfort of a half-decent Christmas movie.

Having said that, there is a fine line that separates the familiar cheers from the absolute trites. And Netflix’s “The Merry Gentlemen” is too hackneyed to be taken seriously. Even with the leniency reserved for films that have more than three Christmas songs, and the leniency that the Holiday season demands of us,...

Is Vanderpump Rules' Tom Sandoval Leaving Reality TV Behind For Good With His Latest Movie Role?
Image
Tom Sandoval was labeled reality TV's biggest villain when his affair with co-star Rachel (formerly known as Raquel) Leviss was made public. Tom and Rachel's months-long affair was a major storyline in Season 10 of Bravo's Vanderpump Rules. In Season 11, viewers watched as Tom's castmates began to show forgiveness while others wanted nothing to do with him.

As Season 12 remains on hiatus as the cast has become divided because of the affair, it looks like Tom may be switching careers. There's no word if these cast members have a job lined up for another season of Vpr. For Tom, it may be best that he's shedding his reality TV persona and making a career change into movies.

Lifetime’s ‘Million Dollar Lethal Listing’ Is a Sensational Exploration of Money and Marriage [Review]
Image
The latest Lifetime thriller from director David DeCoteau, Million Dollar Lethal Listing, is a topical look at the dangerous financial implications of home ownership, unequal incomes, and trusting your partner.

It’s clear early on that engaged couple Becca (Morgan Bradley) and Tom (Jon Briddell) don’t have a great relationship. She’s taken it upon herself to find them a home in between working “freelance” (in what field? It’s unclear) while he spends long hours at his law firm in an effort to make partner.

Becca’s friend Annie (Ciarra Carter) and her lawyer Meghan (Jackée Harry) are both wary of Tom. Meghan is pressing Becca to get a pre-nup because it makes financial sense to protect her sizeable half a million-dollar inheritance in the event of a divorce. Annie, meanwhile, doesn’t like how Becca loses her agency around her betrothed or how responsible she is for...

Screambox Serves Up a Holiday Feast With ‘Secret Santa’, ‘Night of the Missing’, ‘Santastein’ and More!
Image
Tis the season to be scary and Screambox has got you covered with a trio of brand-spanking-new Christmas-themed horror movies that go perfectly with cookies and milk in front of a warm fire.

That’s not all! Just in time for Christmas break, Santastein will make the long winter’s nights anything but silent on Dec. 19.

The angst and anxiety of holiday horror offer a cathartic release because for many the holidays are not perfect, and we don’t see ourselves in the yuletide rom-coms.

In fact, Screambox has more than stocking stuffers, with...

Dark Sky has debuted an official trailer for an indie horror thriller called KillHer, another hip modern "what if it was also a hashtag" (#KillHer) film title. Mattie and her friends go on a weekend trip to the woods to plan Mattie's wedding, settled near the camp of Mr. Rogers, and with no phone signal, their trip starts to turn into a bad idea when they start dying and a big secret is revealed. First Look Teaser for Anthology Horror Film 'Nightmare at Precinct 84'
Image
"What are your secrets, Sheriff?" Dark Cuts Label has revealed an early teaser trailer for an indie anthology horror film called Nightmare at Precinct 84. This is set to arrive sometime in early 2023, but because the film is set on Christmas Eve, they're dropping the first look trailer now in connection with the holiday weekend. This anthology thriller features four segments set around a police precinct. Set on a stormy night on Christmas Eve, a small town female sheriff, who secretly is a serial killer, gets a visit from a mysterious woman who tells four bizarre stories. The cast features Meredith Thomas as Sheriff Hudson, along with Jill Awbrey and Gigi Gustin. I guess this killer sheriff isn't the scariest part about it, as you'll see below. There's a few glimpses of the four stories in this and they do look quite creepy. Worth a look for horror fans. ›››

“The person who’s going to be checking these nominations the closest is going to be Jeffrey Katzenberg because this is going to be a test of whether or not his Quibi experiment can work,” Gold Derby associate editor Zach Laws says in a slugfest with contributors Riley Chow and Luca Giliberti about the Short Form races at the 2020 Emmys (watch the video above). “It should be tailor-made for these short form categories,” continues Laws about the new streaming service, which only produces series with episodes under 10 minutes, making them eligible almost exclusively in the short form field.

The Story of the Underground Emmys Fyc Event That May Have Led to 4 Nominations
The fates of four Emmy nominees this year might have been very different, were it not for one May night at the Elks Lodge in Van Nuys.

On May 25, 2018, a standing-room-only crowd assembled at Lodge Home #2790 for an event dedicated to celebrating 35 potential nominees for this year’s Emmys — actors who had submitted their work to the Academy for voter consideration, independent of the studio machines that drive the bulk of awards season. That night, clips were screened for the 170 attendees, and two months later, on nominations morning, four of them received some very good news.

“It was the most worthwhile trip I have ever made to Van Nuys,” Naomi Grossman, now an Emmy nominee for the short form series “Ctrl. Alt. Delete,” told IndieWire.

Officially dubbed Fyc Us Independents, the evening was the brainchild of actor and producer Meredith Thomas. “I conceived of it a year ago,” she told IndieWire,...

Air Collision (2012)
Written and Directed by Liz Adams

Starring Reginald VelJohnson, Jordan Ladd, Gerald Webb, Michael Teh, Darin Cooper, Darren Anthony Thomas, Kevin Yarbrough, Erin Coker, Andy Clemence, Angelique Cinelu, Stephanie Hullar, Meredith Thomas

While it may be hard to believe that Air Collision is the best Asylum film yet in the entire history of Asylum films, you should really take my word for it.

Sporting a multi-ethnic, and large, ensemble cast involving actors playing scientists, Faa agents, commercial airplane pilots, marines, The President, The First Lady and First Daughter, and people running from falling satellites combined with some pretty good computer graphic effects of said satellites falling and airplanes ramming into buildings, Air Collision certainly *feels* like The Asylum shelled out about ten grand more than they usually do for their monster films.

Air Collision is an updated version of the classic airport disaster film plot; satellites controlled by a brand...
