Krist Novoselic, the former bassist for Nirvana, thanked Silver during his speech at the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for "introducing Nirvana to the music industry properly".

Has a daughter, Lillian Jean Cornell-Silver (born June 28, 2000), with then-husband Chris Cornell.

Arguably one of the most formidable band managers of the 1990s, Silver handled multiplatinum grunge acts including Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Screaming Trees.

These pieces were included in a collection of Lanegan material sold at the Christie's Pop Culture auction in 2008.
