Disney Wants to Make a Movie About a Magical Film Projector
Walt Disney Pictures is going to make a film called "Reel to Real," a family fantasy flick about a magical film projector that shows nothing but Disney films, well, not really, but the studio picked up the project based on a pitch by Eric Saiet and Andrea Maywhort-Scully.

The Hollywood Reporter is saying that "the deal was made before Rich Ross was named chairman of Walt Disney Studios on Monday."

Maywhort-Scully is also working on a novel.

Disney Buys Into Magic Projector
Ever wished you could take what you see in movies and make it real? What if you had a magical movie projector that could do just that? The Hollywood Reporter notes the concept has been launched at Disney, and they've bought in to get the idea underway. It's got to be a dream come true for the duo who pitched Disney the idea for the family fantasy, tentatively titled Reel to Real. Neither Eric Saiet nor Andrea Maywhort-Scully have ever written a screenplay for the big screen before. The concept seems similar to last year's Bedtime Stories, in which Adam Sandler's bedtime tales magically came to life, except this time there's a magic movie projector required. That project was also pitched by a newbie writer who was joined by one of Sandler's favored writing partners. One possible appeal in the concept is the 3D angle, Disney's new favored presentation style.
