Frequently Teamed with Nathan Lane on Stage and Screen.

Graduated from Westlake High School, Thornwood, NY in 1968.

Starred alongside Brian Stokes Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in the Broadway revival of "Man of la Mancha" as Sancho Panza, at the Martin Beck Theater.

On two television series, he played an obnoxious and berating boss whose employee's real-life first name is Mark and has both a hyphen and three initials in his full name: Mark Linn-Baker on Larry et Balki (1986), and Mark-Paul Gosselaar on Sauvés par le gong (1989).

Ernie attended the University of Miami in the early 1970s.
