Mother of Rosalind Blessed.

She first met Brian Blessed in a television drama Double Agent (1969), then they met again four years later when they were making the television series L'enfance de Dominique (1974). They lived together until their daughter Rosalind was four, then they married.

Her second husband was a teacher named John.

In her earliest screen appearance, in Julius Caesar (1963), Hildegard Neil played Calpurnia, Julius Caesar's wife. In Antoine et Cléopâtre (1972) she played Cleopatra, Caesar's most famous mistress.

An avid supporter of Liverpool F.C..
