Veteran German character actor, as well as occasional producer and director. He had a prolific theatrical career in Berlin (1911-19), as well as starring on screen in the Harry Higgs detective serial as a gentleman sleuth. He set up his own production company, Lucifer-Film GmbH, serving for four years as its artistic director. He remained a popular supporting actor in 1930's Ufa productions.

Hans Mierendorff founded the Lucifer-Film GmbH in 1919 and was the art director till 1923.

The actor Hans Mierendorff attended an apprenticesphi as a bookseller. When he abandoned it he took acting lessons at the Hoftheater Schwerin. It followed numerous engagements on different stages.

In 1945 he retired from the film business.

He went to Berlin in 1911 and had great successes in comedies. In the same year he came to the film where he soon appeared with stars like Asta Nielsen in "Der fremde Vogel" (1911).

Hans Mierendorff got his greatest popularity from 1916 with the Harry-Higgs serial (till (1919). In this serial he played the leading role. Detective series were very popular at this time and "Harry Higgs" joined other popular figures like Stuart Webbs and Joe Debbs.

Although he played in a lot of movies during his active career, the name Hans Mierendorff belongs to the forgotten names in the film history.

His third wife was the sister of his second wife.

Hans Mierendorff took part in movie classics like "Hilde Warren und der Tod" (1917), "Die Herrin der Welt" (1919), "Kinder der Finsternis" (1921) and "Königin Luise" (27) during the silent movie era.

With the rise of the sound film he played many other roles but these roles were normally confined to support roles.
