Nominated for the 2008 Tony Award (New York City) for Supporting or Features Actress in a Musical for "In the Heights".

She can be heard as a spokesperson for several television commercials in addition to having voiced narration for many PBS nature documentaries. Voicing nature documentaries is one of her favorite jobs to do.

In 2013, "Latina" magazine named her one of the 50 Best Latin Singers of all time.

She lives in New York City, with her dog, Daisy.

She sponsors children and their families all around the world.

She was the voice-over spokesperson for New York's MTA Subways - "The MTA. Going your way!", as well as being the voice on the subway trains indicating locations and procedures. "Stand clear of the closing doors...".

For several years, she was the promo-voice for HBO en Español.

She is fluent in Spanish and also speaks French.

She worked with Barry Levinson (as an actor) in the TV series he created, "The Jury", and again as a producer, in the TV series "Shades of Blue" starring Jennifer Lopez.

The film "Apartment 5-C" directed by, French-Israeli writer-director, Rafael Nadjari, took her to the Cannes Film Festival.

She was directed by John Cassavetes in a play called "Thornhill" based on the life of Eugene O'Neill written by Meade Roberts. The cast included: Ben Gazzara, Carol Kane, Patti LuPone.

Merediz acted alongside Woody Allen in the remake of the made for TV movie, "The Sunshine Boys".
