The celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company at Disneyland begins today with the opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a new feature that marks the first time the beloved mice have starred in a ride-through attraction at the Anaheim resort.

The attraction is located in Disneyland’s Mickey’s Toontown, which will reopen March 8 following its year-long closure on March 9, 2022, for the land’s makeover.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway combines sets, audio-animatronics figures, animated media and projection-mapping techniques, all synchronized with trackless vehicles and a musical score calling back to Disney Television Animation’s Emmy Award-winning “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts.

We never get tired of the story of Cinderella, and whether we know it or not, the version we never get tired of is the one put forth by Walt Disney 65 years ago. The voice of Cinderella, Ilene Woods, passes away at 81Variety is reporting that Ilene Woods, best known for voicing the title character in Disney's 1950 animated classic Cinderella, died July 1 in Canoga Park, California "of Alzheimer's-related causes."

Woods was 81.

She was born Jacquelyn Ruth Woods and began her career in radio, singing weekly for ABC's "The Ilene Woods Show". She went on to record a demo for the Disney feature. Walt Disney himself hired Woods for Cinderella soon after.

The young soprano got a Disney Legends award over half a century later for her voice work as Cinderella.

Later TV appearances included spots on The Steve Allen Show and Arthur Godfrey and His Friends.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Shaughnessy, a son; a daughter; and three grandchildren.

Cinderella getting a new live-action film It seems that Disney is looking to reimagine one of its animated classics with a new live-action film. Deadline New York is reporting that Disney has bought a new pitch for a live-action film based off of Cinderella.

Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna sold the pitch to Disney and Simon Kinberg will be producing the film. It wasn't said how much the film will deviate from the original Cinderella film, or whether the film will be in 3D or not.

No production schedule was revealed for the film. Brosh McKenna and Kinberg previously worked together on a rewrite of the current comedy Date Night and the pair are also working on an untitled film for Bad Robot's J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
