In his first win in a wrestling match since 1991, the Brooklyn Brawler actually pinned and beat Triple H on July 6, 2000 at WWE Smackdown! (with the help of WWE superstar Chris Jericho and WWE tag team Kai En Tai)

The Brooklyn Brawler is one of the longest employed active-wrestlers the WWE has ever had. He has worked for them longer then Billy Gunn, Hardcore Holly or even the Undertaker.

His first major feud, he was managed by legendary manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and battled Terry "Red Rooster" Taylor, a former Heenan protégé. Brawler attacked Taylor in a now famous segment on 'WWF Primetime".

He is often recognized as the most famous "jobber" in the history of WWE. For the majority of his career whenever he was seen on television it was almost a guarantee he was going to lose.

In 1999, he was the man behind the famous Nicole Bass controversy. Allegedly, Lombardi touched Bass during a flight after a WWF tour of Europe. Afterwards, Bass resigned from the WWF and took the promotion to the court. In the end, she lost the suit.

As "Brooklyn Brawler," he had his only mid-card push in 1989, in a feud against The Red Rooster. When Taylor left Bobby "The Brain" Heenans heel stable and turned face Heenan stated that he had made Taylor a star and he could do the same to anyone in the company. Neither wrestler got over however and Brawler ended up back in his old slot as a jobber.

Was Dwayne Johnson's first WWF opponent in a dark (non-televised) match in 1996. In keeping with his Brooklyn Brawler trademark, Lombardi lost the match.
