- Bill was given a Popeye puppet from his mother. She would hear him talking to the puppet in his room but he would do the Popeye voice when responding. The voice later came to be the gravely voice that later became Froggy's trademark in the Our Gang shorts.
- Died in a motor scooter accident at the age of 16 in La Puente, California.
- At age 16, Billy "Froggy" Laughlin was the youngest former "Little Rascal" to die.
- During his stint as Froggy, he used his real voice only once, as a gag, in the film "1-2-3-Go! (1941)".
