The fourth volume of Netflix’s acclaimed animated anthology series, Love, Death and Robots, has been released, bringing its delightful assortment of ten crazy, zany, terrifying, and occasionally funny shorts, each of which serves as a great example of the versatility of animation as a medium of storytelling. However, unlike the previous season, which offered some of the best episodes that the anthology series had to offer, like Jibaro, Bad Travelling, Mason’s Rats, etc., I personally felt the fourth season was quite lacking in innovation and trademark bold approach. The series has set its own standard for so long, which is probably the reason that, due to high expectations, even decent episodes no longer gel with the audience. But honestly speaking, there are more misses than hits in this season’s bunch of shorts, which shouldn’t have been the case given how much the streaming channel has emphasized quality animation productions.

Exclusive: As Bono premieres his Andrew Dominik-directed Apple docu Bono: Stories of Surrender on Friday, Deadline can reveal he’s not the only rock icon making noise at the Cannes Film Festival. Also present on the Croisette in an underground capacity is Red Hot Chili Peppers. A documentary on the band’s formative years is being quietly shopped, with secret screenings by Submarine Entertainment.
The fact that the surviving members of the band participated on camera in this documentary is surprising, since they’ve turned down many offers in the past. That might be because of the shrapnel and deaths from drug use. That dark side of the music business is part of their overall tapestry to go along with 120 million albums sold worldwide and membership in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Red Hot Chili Peppers vocalist Anthony Kiedis has followed in the footsteps of Green Day by launching his own coffee brand.
The company is named Jolene, an amalgamation of the phrases “cup of Joe” and “lean latte” (the latter of which refers to a latte without whole milk), while also referencing Dolly Parton’s iconic song. Co-founded with Kiedis’ longtime friend Shane Powers, the brand offers two varieties of canned coffee: Black (cold brew) and White (oat milk latte).
Jolene sources its beans from an all-female co-op in Peru, aiming to ensure “high-quality beans while directly supporting the women growers and their communities,” according to a press release.
Kiedis and Powers have partnered with Live Nation, which will act as both an investor and distributor of Jolene at festivals and 40 of its venues. In addition to the canned offerings, the concert promoter will feature the coffee in four signature cocktails.

“For my money, it's like Love, Death + Robots should be anything. Anything that you can't figure out where else it goes,” legendary filmmaker David Fincher mused about the unconventional, sci-fi/cyberpunk-flavored Netflix (mostly) animated anthology series. It’s as apt a description as any for the ambitious, experimental, and genre-bending project, now launching its fourth season.
“Creativity happens on the fringe,” said Fincher — the director behind boundary-pushing cinematic classics like Seven, Fight Club, The Social Network, Gone Girl, and Zodiac. Speaking on stage at the Love, Death + Robots season premiere at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, he was joined by fellow executive producer Tim Miller (Deadpool) and supervising producer Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2 & 3). “It always does, and it always takes somebody — it has to be these weird flyers out there — to inform where the industry is going to go. So we're just going to be out there.

Blondshell isn’t having it. We’re browsing the surprisingly large selection of records tucked into the small space of Rough Trade in Rockefeller Center and talking about the singer-songwriter’s second album, If You Asked for a Picture. It’s quite a blissful scenario for the artist born Sabrina Teitelbaum, except for the fact that a beanie-wearing tourist has just interrupted our conversation to ask if we listen to the Beatles.

As Babyface was talking to reporters, one of the reporters noticed Chappell Roan was behind them, waiting to get interviews. The reporter calls out the “Hot To Go” singer by name a couple of times, and Babyface turns around and tells the reporters, “You guys want to… go do that.”
Babyface gives the microphone back to the reporters while they apologize to him and greet Chappell Roan.
Many fans on social media have dinged the moment as unprofessional and disrespectful to Babyface.
Chappell Roan is nominated for six Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Album of the Year,...

Attention all fans of '90's cinema and off-the-wall action, please take note: Point Break is leaving Netflix on December 1st of this year. The film — which stars Keanu Reeves as FBI agent Johnny Utah and Patrick Swayze as surfer and criminal Bodhi — is essential viewing for anyone who likes action that leaves you at the edge of your seat, and incredibly compelling character dynamics that pull you into a world of thievery done just for the thrill of it.
Rather than simply being a conventional game of cat-and-mouse between cop and robber — such as venerated classics like Michael Mann's Heat — Point Break is groundbreaking in its commitment to entangling Reeves' character Johnny with the mastermind Bodhi. The criminal has an alluring philosophy, one of constantly chasing the ultimate thrill, and it draws the undercover cop into their dangerous lifestyle. The unconventional nature of the two leads' relationship, paired with the stunning action,...

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis has often found himself amidst heavy tabloid scrutiny for his life outside the realm of music. While the musician has yet to walk the aisle, his dating preferences have continued to raise eyebrows among his listeners, given the major age gap in most of his relationships, especially the one involving Helena Vestergaard.

For the unversed, Vestergaard and Kiedis dated for a few years in the mid-2010s before the duo eventually called it quits. However, following the major age difference between them, the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman was heavily criticized, and it doesn’t appear the consensus has changed much ever since.

The sudden death of Crazy Town frontman Shifty Shellshock three months ago has been linked to fentanyl, the powerful synthetic opioid also cited in the untimely deaths of fellow musicians Prince, Tom Petty, Mac Miller, and Lil Peep.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed that the official cause of death for the singer-songwriter born Seth Brooks Binzer was the combined effects of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. The manner of death was an “accident,” the department said.

According to Deadline, Universal has optioned the rights to Anthony Kiedis’ memoir, Scar Tissue, the ‘warts and...

Exclusive: Universal Pictures has optioned rights to Anthony Kiedis’ New York Times bestseller Scar Tissue, with the feature film project is currently in early development at the studio. It will be produced by Brian Grazer through Imagine Entertainment, Kiedis, and Guy Oseary.
The candid book profiles Kiedis, the famed frontman of Red Hot Chili Peppers, an artist, addict and ringleader. It features a deeply unconventional father-and-son story set against a substance-fueled 1970s and ’80s L.A. punk scene and examines, without judgment, how Kiedis’ experiences shaped the music eventually embraced by millions.
Universal in recent years has shown a knack for delivering the goods on the biopic-based-on-musicians front. The N.W.A pic Straight Outta Compton was a massive box office hit that also earned an Oscar nomination for Original Screenplay. Universal’s EVP Production Development Jay Polidoro will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.

On Jan. 19, the Mothership will land on Hollywood Boulevard when George Clinton officially gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “It feels good as shit,” he tells Rolling Stone of the honor on a phone call from his home in Tallahassee, Florida. “I’m trying to think of some jokes to say, but the truth is that I’m proud as hell.”

Fans of brilliant director, writer, and producer Wes Anderson enjoyed a great treat this week. Even though the filmmaker already released another project this year, Asteroid City, Netflix also released four short films by Anderson. These movies are based on short stories by remarkable fantasy author Roald Dahl -- better known for his children's books, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach. One of Anderson's most iconic films, Fantastic Mr. Fox, is also based on one of Dahl's books for children. However, this time, Anderson focuses on Dahl's more mature work, some of his short stories written for adults, and fans couldn't be more excited to see how Anderson will adapt these fantastic tales.
