Is married with two kids. Daughter Franke and son Clinton both appeared as his niece and nephew in Chapter 36 (2015).

Graduated from Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia.

He is of Irish (father) and Italian (mother) descent.

For a time, Michael played in the band Leroy Justice, which he named after a college friend's father.
