According to newspaper articles he died while visiting his brother Edward in San Diego.

In 1909/1910 newspapers reported his engagement to circus performer Coretta (real name Ruby Belle Rickoff/Richoff) which was a publicity stunt as she was only about 10 years in 1910 and maybe she wasn't a midget at all. Actually Ruby was born January 1899 in Clinton, Iowa were she was also buried when dying in May 22, 1912. Curiosly Twelve years after her death in 1924 newspaper reported of her grave being vandalized.
