Image
Aside from her recent legal troubles, Blake Lively used to be a fan favorite for years, and it’s easy to see why. The actress has been in the industry for several years now, and her acting chops make every role of hers extra special. Many fans came across her acting chops for the very first time when she played Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. After this hit show, her career trajectory has definitely gone beyond the Upper East Side.

Lively has dabbled in a variety of genres, whether it be romantic, comedic, or a full-blown action thriller, perfectly proving that she’s more than just a fashion icon. The Age Of Adaline Cast & Character Guide
Image
Now that the fantasy romance movie, The Age of Adaline, is streaming on Netflix, it is the perfect time to dive into the talented cast of stars who made the 2015 film possible. The Age of Adaline follows a young woman named Adaline who has a fairly normal life in the early 20th century. However, following the tragic death of her husband, Adaline's life begins to fall apart, and she gets into a car accident that should end her life. By some miracle though, Adaline is saved by a lightning strike, and she stops aging completely.

Before trending on Netflix, The Age of Adaline premiered in April 2015 to somewhat mixed reviews. With a 55% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, many felt that the movie took itself too seriously and left too many logistical questions unanswered. Then again, reviewers also admitted that the film was full of touching, romantic moments that never felt overly sweet.

After 21 Movies, I'm Still Waiting For Harrison Ford To Finish His Unrealized Career Shift
Image
Harrison Ford shines as a villain in What Lies Beneath, showing his potential beyond heroic roles. Despite What Lies Beneath's mixed reviews, Ford's performance as the antagonist was chilling and memorable. Ford has not played a former villain since What Lies Beneath in 2000.

Over the course of his acting career, Harrison Ford has starred in numerous critically acclaimed movies and played many beloved characters, but there is one thing that has been sadly missing from his catalog. Ford's breakthrough in Hollywood came when he starred as Bob Falfa in George Lucas' American Graffiti. Although the 1973 comedy-drama certainly isn't what Ford is most known for, it helped build his relationship with Lucas. Consequently, American Grafitti was a key factor in Ford securing the role of Han Solo in Star Wars in 1977, which was when the actor truly rose to prominence.

Harrison Ford has recently shifted from the big screen...

Velma Season 2 Premiere Date Announced
Image
Max has announced the premiere date for Season 2 of its adult animated comedy series, Velma, starring Mindy Kaling. A second season of the divisive Scooby-Doo series, which doesn't actually feature the franchise's titular Great Dane, was ordered by the streamer last June.

On the streaming service's official X account, Max announced "all the new movies, series, and shows coming your way this April," including Velma Season 2, which will premiere on Max on April 25. Other prominent series coming to Max this month include Conan O'Brien Must Go (Apr. 18), The Jinx - Part Two (Apr. 21), We're Here Season 4 (Apr. 26), and Robert Downey Jr.'s The Sympathizer (Apr. 14). Despite receiving mostly negative reviews from critics and longtime Scooby-Doo fans, Velma was the largest debut ever for an animated series on Max, which no doubt significantly influenced the streamer's decision to order a second season of the adult comedy.

10 Best Actors in the Fantasy Genre, Ranked
Image
Acting in a fantasy movie is not at all the same as acting in dramas, comedies, and romances set in the real world. Actors face very specific challenges on fantasy movie sets, ranging from highly stylized dialogue and body movements to shared scenes with computer-generated creatures. That said, some artists seem to have a natural talent for this kind of work.

Since the fantasy genre usually involves otherworldly characters, some of the best actors in the genre are known for being cast in these roles. Whereas some of these actors are known as epic fantasy villains, others are known as courageous heroes. Regardless of the connotations associated with their characters, these actors have put on some of the greatest performances in film, forever memorializing them as part of cinematic history.

10 Most Romantic Endings In Shojo Anime
Image
A shojo anime's satisfying Happily Ever After can come in many forms. It can be a clear promise of a couple's united future, a straightforward affirming kiss, or a wedding followed a ride into the sunset. A Happy for Now lets a season or a series end with a satisfying sense of completion, while also keeping the door open for more content if the series gets renewed.

Happily Ever After is one of the most common romance tropes, and in anime especially, they're almost always hard-won. It takes a lot for both parts of a couple to come to terms with their feelings and to be unafraid to share them. Often there's far more on the line than just a happy romance ending. Sometimes the couple has to save a world before they can look toward the future.

The following article discusses the endings of various Shojo anime. Please beware of spoilers.

Mayor Of Kingstown Cast & Character Guide: Who Stars In Taylor Sheridan's Crime Drama
Image
The crime drama Mayor of Kingstown is rich with complex characters brought to life by a talented cast. The series, which is the brainchild of Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and actor Hugh Dillon, follows the McLuskys, an influential family of “power brokers" who are responsible for keeping the peace in the titular city. While it’s difficult to parse just what the McLusky brothers actually do, their roles put them in the center of the complex web of politics and violence woven by the gangs, the police, and the prisons that define Kingstown.

The series’ future has been uncertain since star Jeremy Renner experienced a life-threatening accident, but Mayor of Kingstown has enjoyed strong ratings since debuting on Paramount Plus and is sure to continue. The series owes much of this success to its well-developed world populated by textured characters. While the series’ main actor, a bona fide Hollywood A-lister,...

L.M. Kit Carson
L.M. Kit Carson Is Dead: ‘Paris, Texas’ Writer, USA Film Fest Co-Founder
L.M. Kit Carson
An iconoclast in the worlds of independent film and journalism who embodied — and celibrated — Texas individualism, Carson died October 20 in Dallas following a long battle with osteoporosis and other illnesses. He was 73.

A Dallas native whose career took him to Austin, Houston, New York, Los Angeles and many places far afield and in between, Lewis Minor Carson was best known as co-author with Sam Shepard of the Wim Wenders film Paris, Texas (Carson’s official credit was for “adaptation”), which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1984. Known universally as Kit, after his Texas Ranger grandfather, he is credited with helping create the”mockumentary” genre for writing and playing the title role in David Holtzman’s Diary, the Jim McBride film about a navel-gazer who decides to film every moment of his unmomentous life. The 1967 film anticipated such disparate touchstones as the film This Is Spinal Tap and the...

DVD Release: A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman
Blu-ray & DVD Release Date: Feb. 12, 2013

Price: DVD $24.99

Studio: Virgil

A Liar's Autobiography offers a colorfully animated look at Monty Python's late Graham Chapman.

The 2012 sort-of documentary comedy film A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman offers a humorous examination of the life of you-know-who, a member of the legendary British TV comedy troupe Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

The late Chapman, the man who co-wrote Python’s immortal “Dead Parrot” sketch, became himself “demised” in 1989 at the age of 48 from throat cancer. But in seeming preparation for this event, Chapman years earlier recorded himself reading from his book A Liar’s Autobiography Vol. VI, a fictionalized account of his life published in 1980. Now, directors Bill Jones (son of Python member Terry Jones), Jeff Simpson and Ben Timlett, with help from animators at 14 studios, have turned those tapes into a look at the very creative and very complicated Chapman.

A Liar’s Autobiography | Review
A Gay Old Time: Documentary/Animation Hybrid a Loving, Original Tribute

Co-directors Bill Jones, Jeff Simpson, and Ben Timlett (two of which were involved with a 2009 documentary series on Monty Python) have managed to create a stupendously odd and entertaining 3D animated film, A Liar’s Autobiography, that’s both an homage to and grossly exaggerated glance at the life of Graham Chapman, renowned member of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. While Chapman passed away in 1989 from throat cancer, this animated feature utilizes his voice from tapes he made in 1986 from the narration of his own book “A Liar’s Autobiography: Volume VI” (taped in Harry Nilsson’s studio).

We’re introduced to an animated version of Chapman, performing as Oscar Wilde on stage opposite close friend and colleague, John Cleese. Forgetting his next line, a spaceship beams through the roof and scoops him up into a newly animated form,...

Tiff 2012 Review: ‘A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman’ Is A Bad Lie
We all love Monty Python (if you don’t, just pretend you know what I’m talking about and keep going). And by that standard, anything with the name in the title must be gloriously brilliant. It’s going to break comedic ground by its ability to comment on the highest level of societal discussion. At the same time, it’s going to be the silliest piece of nonsense you’ve ever found yourself gut-splitting, on the floor, laughing at — while crying, as well. A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman, however, is not a Monty Python film. It is an act of self-indulgent nostalgia by a group of men who love their colleague. In 1986, three years before his death from cancer, Graham Chapman decided to conduct an experiment by taping an audio book that would serve as a fictional telling of his life. It...

‘A Liar’s Autobiography’, the Monty Python sort-of reunion, now has a trailer
Monty Python is a name that continues to ring synonymous with sketch comedy, long after members of the troupe have died, retired, or moved on to other careers. Before his death, a member of the group, Graham Chapman, wrote a fake memoir titled A Liar’s Autobiography (Volume VI). Last year, news emerged that an animated adaptation of the book was in the works, with 14 different animation studios each tackling one part of the book. But the real coup occurred at the casting level, with former Monty Python members Terry Gilliam, John Cleese, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin all lending their voice to the movie, along with recordings made by Chapman prior to his demise. Directed by Bill Jones, Ben Timlett and Jeff Simpson, the minds behind Monty Python’s Flying Circus, the film now has a trailer, which can be seen below.

Things Get Very Silly In Trailer For ‘A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman’
Graham Chapman played many key parts as a member of the British comedy group Monty Python. On their BBC sketch show, Flying Circus, a dry demeanor made him a perfect straight man. On film, it was a quality that shaped his reluctant Christ figure in The Life of Brian — and his befuddled King Arthur in Monty Python and the Holy Grail — just two of the countless roles he took on before an untimely death in 1989. Now, 23 years later, his life is (kind of) the subject of the animated 3D comedy A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman.

Directed by Bill Jones, Jeff Simpson, and Ben Timlett, A Liar’s Autoiography presents a fictionalized account of the comedian’s life. Based on the his published memoirs, the film uses recently discovered audio tapes of Chapman to create the narration. Pythons John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones,...

Monty Python team to reanimate Graham Chapman
John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones will turn late actor's memoir into animated 3D film

He found himself laughed at, misunderstood and nailed to a cross while the crowd looked on the bright side. Now Graham Chapman, Monty Python mainstay and title star of Life of Brian, is set to rise again in a 3D animated biopic.

Adapted from the actor's 1980 memoir A Liar's Autobiography: Volume VI, the film will blend contributions from the surviving Pythons with audio of Chapman reading from his book, recorded shortly before his death from cancer in October 1989. According to the New York Times, the picture is the brainchild of producers Ben Timlett, Jeff Simpson and Bill Jones, the son of former Python Terry Jones. It is set for a theatrical release in the UK next spring.

Educated at Cambridge, Chapman was a founding member of Monty Python's Flying Circus, the groundbreaking...
