High school sweethearts, Suzanne and Matthew arrive in New York City with their closest friends by their side. Last minute preparations take a toll on everyone, and a health issue that Suzanne and Courtney have been concealing comes out into the open. Is love strong enough to survive the Big Apple?

A group of ethnically diverse Sydney-siders from different parts of the city, cross paths in a collection of interwoven stories about love, loss, mystery, and redemption. This multi-plot film presents a mosaic of cultures and languages, and the prejudices that make up the fabric of this city. The protagonists are: Jerome and Farrah, teens who fall in love and runaway from their disapproving families; Rose, who is slowly losing her hearing; Olivier, Marco and Alex, backpackers who make the wrong choices one drunken night; Lily, a spoilt and entitled 20-something who gets a taste of her own medicine; Tara, a theatre director who tries to get her life back on track after a shocking accident; Tamer an aggressive brother who is faced with an arranged marriage. Are we all connected through life's little and meaningless occurrences, and are they really so meaningless? Do we determine our own fate or is it determined by the actions of complete strangers?

She now lives a happy life with Taylor, completely detached from her past. Wai makes an irrational and emotionally driven trip to New York with Makalina, hoping that her husband will finally agree to having a baby once the house is empty. Wai turns up on her sister's doorstep in Brooklyn, unannounced, after ten years without a word. As the story unfolds, one of the sisters learns what family really is.
