Just finished watching the latest effort from Scott Adkins. All hos previous movies were a lot of fun to watch, and I think he really knows how to deliver, but this film really was a travesty to watch. The action scenes are fun and the killer with the steel hand was creepy and scary and you really do not want to mess with him. The rest of the cast is really nothing to write home about, especially the girl Elissa. The girl playing Elissa had two expressions through out the movie and none of them were convincing. She definitely was the weakest link in this excuse for a movie. If they had opted for a different Elissa the movie would have been better off.
It started well. A young girl finds her uncle dead and a puzzle piece is lying next to him.
As she cannot recall anything after entering the house, only prior and after entering is all she can recall. 10 years later, the girl is now a profiler working with the cop who has never given up on finding the killer, and has been suspecting the girl, but never had proof. Another murder and another puzzle piece shows up.
This could have been good, but portraying the girl as super smart who can solve crimes and her irregular behaviour makes no sense. She sits and waits for hours for the cop to show up, when she has found a clue, then drops a line and heads out being all quirky. The cop is stubborn but is never open minded, only stubborn and opiniated. How they should be able to solve a crime is beyond belief.
