I'm sure this is a wonderful documentary, and I really wanted it to be so, BUT subtitles would have been nice so you would know what the survivors and their families were saying. Multiple foreign languages and not a single subtitle or voice over. Little known fact, most people do not speak 4 or 5 languages. Most of us are lucky to to understand one. I tried to watch but it simply made me mad because I was missing more than half of the program because there were no subtitles or even voice overs. The girl texting was a little dicey for me and not necessary and as always Helen Mirren was phenomenal.
Whoever was the sound mixer on the series should never work again. Awful, just awful. The background music overpowers the narration and 75% of the time you can't hear dialogue over the music. The story lines were interesting and I would have loved to have known the whole story behind each but that stupid music. Sadly, I've run across several documentaries with this problem and wonder if they weren't made by the same production company. How were these programs sold is beyond me, I suspect only the concept was provided not the actual programs to the networks. Guess I should have turned on close captioning.
