Saw it in theatre when it released and it was my first viewing since. By now you should know what Fast and Furious is about and if you chose to watch it, you can't really complain that the movie defy physics and is super over the top. Thats what the franchise is about, always trying to outdo the previous one.
Now this one is "Part 1" and basically its hard to judge it as despite its long runtime, its not a "complete movie" in a sense. Part 2 is supose to be coming next year, and i can't wait to see it, but in the meantime all i can do is judge it on its own.
The vilain played by Jason Momoa is really over the top and its either you have fun with it, or you will roll your eyes. Personally i had fun.
You can expect the same crazy stunts that the franchise is used to, and obviously what bring the charm to it are the ensemble cast especially the duo of Roman and Tej (played by Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris).
John Cena who play Dom's brother is back in this one, and even tough he is a lot of fun playing a more relax character like we are used by Cena, his personality is greatly different from the last movie to a point its hard to believe its the same character. Yes stuff in Fast 9 happened that surely did contribute to this, but its a bit of a 180.
Then again it was never a franchise known for its tight plot. Speaking of, the passing of Paul Walker show more and more as the movies continues. If Part 8 does follow some logic on his absence, 9 was a stretch and 10 even more. Brian was needed storywise. Hopefully they can bring the character back trough CGI and "magic" for the final one, and more than a little cameo. It may be bold but i would go as far as recast if they need to...
Overall its a solid action "turn your brain off" movie. You have to take it for what it is and at that it succeed.

I never hidden in my reviews that i love these "raunchy comedies" from the 2000s a lot. From the biggest, more known ones like American Pie, to the obscure low budget ones like National's Lampoon Adam and Eve.
Eurotrip is one of the best of the genre, right up with the American Pies or Van Wilder.
Yes the humor is very crude, and yes the movie can almost feel like a spoof at times, but it makes for some comedy gold and its not a movie that is supose to be taken seriously anyway.
Its funny in a way watching this again in 2025 thinking this would not happen with all the technology we have now like Facetime and so on, but back in 2004 this was the reality. Webcams were a thing sure, but it was not a common thing like today. But outside a bit of tech at the beginning that can feel outdated, the rest of the movie is as funny and current as it was back then.
Now yes the movie parody a lot the European countries, and as a Canadian who seen my country done similar in other American productions, its something that you just learn to have fun with and not take seriously. In a way the movie also parody the American views on these countries at the same time.
The movie is full of classic scenes wich i will keep spoiler free, but lets just say over 20 years later "Scotty doesn't know" is still as catchy of a song as it was. Matter of facts this is what made me rewatch the movie yesterday. I was kinda tipsy, heard the song, and i was like "ok i need to rewatch Eurotrip".
Its a solid 9 out of 10.
* RIP Michelle Trachtenberg. She was so good in this movie.

I had this movie in my backlog for a long time. I didn't expect much out of it and this is probably why it took me so long to watch it. Why i wanted to watch it? Victoria Pratt and i like vampires. Always had a bit of a crush on this actress since Mutant X and lets just say she is the only redeeming factor in this mess...
First of all, the structure of the movie is confusing and keep jumping in time. At first i was thinking maybe it was a sequel to another movie so i even googled it about 10 minutes in to be sure. Turn out that no, its just a narrative choice. It was very confusing at first altough i did got used to it eventually.
The vampire themselves are awfull. They have large goofy teeths, they have mirror reflection for some reason (if there is one rule that i am not lenient on when it comes to vampires, its the mirror thing), they seem to die trough normal wounds instead of needing stake to the heart or decapitation. You barely get any lore on them either.
Then the vampire hunters ... merely unimportant extras outside of Victoria's character. Once again no lore, no interesting facts. One of them seem to be "in training" but they teep telling him to "go back home" wich felt weird. How did he came in contact with vamps or hunters? Oh well who cares right?
The horror/blood/gore is extremely low budget, same for the sets. You can feel they didn't had much to work with.
And finally the plot try to be more clever than it has any right to be. I think they probably said "Vlad Kossei" around 20 times in the mere 80 something minutes this movie last.
I am not gonna comment on acting as i watched a french dubbed version and its one of those low budget awful dub. All i can say is that the only character that seem to be "normal" and credible was Victoria's.
Its one of those movie that was pretty boring, looked very cheap, didn't got me engaged in any characters or what happened to them. Felt like some recent graduates from a cinema school tried to make their first movie on a tiny budget. I will give it a 3 out of 10 and there is an extra point for Victoria Pratt being the lead.
