A low-budget dystopian action film set in Australia. It was the most profitable film ever made at the time and held that title for two decades. Despite the use of an old camera and a lack of proper editing facilities, the chase scenes and stunts are still astonishing.
The Australian accent and terminology can be difficult to understand but add a unique vibe for viewers. The motorcycle gang is truly terrifying, with each member having a distinct personality. The stunts are the highlight of the film, and you can feel their originality except for the eye-popping scenes.
This was only Mel Gibson's second film, but you can already see glimpses of his talent. The characters of Goose, Toecutter, and Johnny the Boy are memorable and well-acted. As the title suggests, Max isn't "mad" in this movie, and even when he's angry, he mostly keeps it under control. Overall, it's a true independent movie with a rebellious spirit.

The medieval setting combined with modern references is an interesting aspect of this movie, along with some memorable characters and humorous dialogues. Merlin is a weird and eccentric time-traveling wizard, while Wart is a naive and innocent boy. The character development of Mad Madam Mim is minimal, as she's introduced almost at the climax of the film, but she steals the show from her very first line: 'Sounds like someone's sick. How lovely. I do hope it's serious. Something dreadful.' The wizard battle is the best scene in the movie.
The voice casting is not up to the mark. The change in Wart's voice is noticeable, and giving a British boy a Brooklyn accent feels out of place. The exaggerated Cockney accents of many characters are over the top. The animation looks cheap, with poorly animated backgrounds, and most parts look cartoony.
The slapstick comedy in this movie is below par, with the wolf scenes being repetitive and annoying. The film fails to adapt the Arthurian legend, focusing primarily on the relationship between Arthur and Merlin, and not much about sword in the stone. The squirrel scenes do not feel sensible, and the sad ending spoils the overall mood of the film. The songs are very short, and the added dialogue between them makes it less engaging, 'Higitus Figitus' being the only memorable one.
Overall, this is the weakest animated movie from Walt Disney's lifetime. In all aspects, the film feels unbalanced, some parts are interesting, while others are quite boring.

A John McTiernan movie with a brilliant script, beautiful cinematography and quality sound design. A thriller with great action sequences and funny catchphrases.
John McClane is a rare, relatable badass cop in the history of cinema with a great sense of humour. Hans Gruber is charismatic and one of the classic villains of all time. The film had a great supporting cast, and almost everyone on screen delivered memorable and strong performances.
The theme of the movie revolves around the challenges and conflicts of an ordinary family man in an extraordinary situation. The only flaw in the movie is how the FBI agents were portrayed, it's too dumb.
Overall, it's a unique action movie that not only defined the genre but was also revolutionary.
