This is better than i expected. There are some nice twists and turns, it is a fun ride and enjoyable to watch, charismatic actors, some intense scenes, what's not to like? GAMBIT is entertaining all the way, i think it's equally good as CHARADE. There are some flaws, ending is rushed and not convincing, plus it's a fun ride as i said but not hilarious, i didn't laugh even once. But in any case, this is not a pure comedy movie but a comedy crime, a movie which will put a smile on your face, a definition of a feel good movie. So, don't expect some kind of a thrilling experience, and you will like it, as long as you like this subgenre.

I think this is a very good movie, probably even great. Visually stunning, amazing acting, plus so much originality and creativity. You may like it or not, but you can't deny that this is original and Greenaway being a creative and brilliant artist.

Although, i can see the reasons why someone might consider it a bad/distasteful/disturbing/unwatchable movie. I won't even argue with that view, it's not easy to watch, there are many gross scenes and one of the most disgusting and vile characters ever. And he's basically the leading character of the movie, he talks all the time, he terrorizes and harm people, viewer can't escape him, he's the epicentre of this movie. Thus, this is a cruel and violent movie.

So, i understand why someone might despises this movie, therefore i cannot recommend it. There are many movies which are objectively great and if someone don't like the, it's his problem. This movie is not one of them. I liked it a lot, i liked the uniqueness of the story, the "theatricality" of it, the intense scenes, even the brutality: This is an anxiety-inducing experience at times. And of course, i loved the ending. If you manage to watch the whole movie, ending is somewhat rewarding.

I wish i had liked this movie more, this is a well acted and directed movie, much better than the average zombie movie regarding acting/directing and production value. Unfortunately, this is not very exciting. It takes a lot of time to cut to the chase, it's a bit slowpaced and there are many not that interesting moments. It should have been at least 10-15 minutes shorter and i would like it to be more action oriented. After all, this is not some kind of drama but a horror movie.

In any case, i liked it and if there will be a sequel, i will probably watch it. This is a good movie and as i see, a lot of people liked it too, even more than i did. So, if you want to watch a movie like it was described, you will probably like it too. I can't recommend it though.
