It's surprising the simplicity with which this film deals with just a few words in Episode IV, but what is really surprising is how the narrative is able to create a coherent story with its world and quite innovative with new characters full of charisma, there is also innovation in aspects such as the use of practical effects and a fair handling of special effects.
What I notice is that the pace is somewhat affected by its self-conclusive nature, as they have to tell this story here and now, another thing that is affected by this is the story and the development of the different characters, since it only focuses on the story of Jyn Erso.
Another aspect that I consider negative is the fanservice, as certain characters appear only to excite and generate expectations for another product, the final scene is the best of the film, but that detracts from the importance of the rest of the film.
At the end of the day it is the best Disney has produced, the rest is a spectacle of special effects and a mediocre story, this film was two steps forward and one step back, maybe it has taken a step back but it has also taken a step forward.

Funny, entertaining and simple, this is how a mini episode of Doctor Who should be, also has no goal other than having fun.
This story is interesting and a beautiful tribute to the Doctor of Peter Davison, they use concepts that we could not have imagined to explain this time clash, funny script, and incredible performances, a good start for season 4.
