Yesterday (why?) The Comfort of Strangers seen again. A remarkable film , but not a good one. A couple on holiday in Venice to perpetuate their relationship met a brutal man and his enigmatic wife . Rupert Everett is the husband of the couple who made more like his looks rather than his wife and certainly less put on her children . Natasha Richardson - his wife - doing a half-hearted attempt to deepen the relationship. There is no connection and no sex. Until they meet the character of Christopher Walken. Repel them are intrusive behavior and attracts them. Walken is the key to new passion ?
The powerful memory I had of the film was in a scene where Walken gives Everett unprovoked a hard punch in the stomach. Everett responding (also) this lethargic . Walken gives him a wink after the stump. This scene is still the best of the film. Walken acts pleasant unfathomable. His expression is attractive false. Walken carries the film to pose. His character - despite bizarre stories about his past - is superficial . The rest of the cast ( Helen Mirren is Walkens woman ) seems to do exactly what the script is . No subtle additions in the game.
Director Paul Schrader will have stood for. Schrader at the top of his fame during production was/is known for its powerplay. It has earned him eternal fame as a writer of the scrips Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. In The Comfort of Strangers, he 's tight rein. So tight that even particularly Everett Richardson and insecure on the set seem to be . "So, and not otherwise ," will have Schrader called . It provides for stiff game in a story of the subtleties must have correct.
The result is that the crises of the couple does not last and that you wait until Walken again comes into picture. Stock photography Dante Spinotti is beautiful and the pleasant retro look back. The score of Angelo Badalamenti 's trying the audience's attention to keep. It does not help. The Comfort of Strangers in the year 2013 is just a nostalgic experience.

b-film.nl Last Wednesday at the age of 60 Sylvia Kristel deceased. She will be remembered for its successful game, her paintings and her powerful autobiography. Plus Minus 58 (TV) films she has to her name. With major productions as The Concorde ... Airport '79 and Private Lessons, she remains best known for the Emmanuelle series. A huge success formula that was milked. Eventually these films degenerated into flawless b-movies. The one to one with three parts for the enthusiast perfectly palatable. Beautiful naked, rich sites and addition Kristel Umberto Orsini example that also could occur in Visconti's The Damned and Ludwig.
Part four is a different story. That part is downright obscure. Perhaps even more obscure as many Emmanuelle rip or programs created by Joe D'Amato. Many of his titles (Emanuelle with 'm') are polished, with extras and reissued by the precious Blue Underground.
Definitely something to this site even pay attention to it. This beautiful lot of fancy reissue is not played by Emmanuelle IV. The film has the title role Sylvia Kristel top stand, the producers had not thought that are the star of the film would be. They devised a diabolical plan to the 32 year old Kristel in exchange for the 24-year-old fashion model Mia Nygren. Undoubtedly the idea with the new star Just to continue the series.
But in part four first had eaten it both ways: either as Kristel Nygren present as ester. Tss. I have to share this. Entered from a lucky dip: the apparently b-movie Open Water 2 aka Adrift just grabbed me at my throat.
What a great film. Why do I not stop everything and start filming myself!! Read the comments on the IMDb: they are brilliant conflicting!! This movie (logical with that title and sleeve) has been completely unmarked. And the director doesn't seemed to be to busy, nevertheless this movie is super... although... You have to believe it...
Six thirty'ers jump in the middle of the ocean of their yacht and can not climb back again. Of one of the thirty'ers in the water is the baby still on board. What a fiction!! Tears in my eye's.
And than the end... euh... Is this the end? Accidental so confusing of made up?? Open Water 2/Adrift will stick to me for a while.
