Évaluation de ronalamont-91472
I agree with the reviewers who point out the lack of chemistry between all of them, the OTT moms, the poor dialogue and acting, and the fact it's just incredibly boring.
These people are not real and now that I've read it's an adaption of a book, it makes more sense.
The constant back and fro between the summers drove me crazy. I'm glad Cadance dyes her hair for no reason other than reminding us we're back in the present.
On Episode 3 I realized there were 8 episodes to this show and I knew I couldn't stick it out. Everyone just goes around in some sort of pain and are either expressionless or yelling and swearing at each other.
Cadance is constantly perplexed through the first three episodes. I'm not sure she ever laughed. Even when there was nothing wrong she mooned around Gat with a constantly wrinkled brow and searching expression.
How many episodes can she keep asking to be told the truth about her accident and everyone dance around without answering her. I really couldn't care less what happened to her or any of them by the end of episode three.
Like another reviewer, I may skip to the last episode to see what happens but I don't know if I could take another episode of people reciting their ridiculous dialogue as if in a play.
The scenery was nice but since the characters were all so entitled it paled in comparison. I got the feeling that as muddled we all were watching, they were more muddled performing.

Like so many other reviewers I really enjoyed the simplicity of this one without it being sickly sweet or predictable. It's well acted so not the fake Hallmark School of Acting as I call it. Ethan Hawke was particularly good as a previously successful young musician past his prime.
The message is a good one with regrets on the part of everyone at some point ... and I really didn't know where the story was going to take me.
Not a lot you can say without giving any spoilers so I'll just have to make some bland comments to fill out the character requirement.
The setting is nice ... England.... and the UK characters are sensible and calm most of the time. The American contingent are loud and aggressive in contrast. The little boy is excellent and the most sensible and sensitive to reality.
