9/10 - 'FREEDOM' is handsome, well crafted, its dialogue has a lovely pang and the "cat and mouse" set pieces work well on an archetypal level. Unfortunately the film isn't as swashbuckling and fun as it should be and its air of solemnity and "realism" is false and pretentious. Still, it's a shame the film didn't do better business. A couple sequels would help to loosen things up, and give Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding, Jr. A chance to develop his character. Absolutely love the beautiful scenery of the old south and the amazing Gospel slave songs - incredible!

Ignore the haters - they've never picked up a camera and shot anything in their lives. Most are atheists and hate faith-based anything.

Powerful Twist Ending - all I can say is.....WOW. Nothing is ever truly predictable, which is an impressive accomplishment considering this type of faith-based film. Acting was incredible especially James Barrington and Captain Tanu. Incredible actors.

Never is there a dull moment, and the dialogue is so effortlessly perfect without ever feeling contrived. This is a genuine Christian movie - not sure if anyone shared this or not The sappy moments are never that, when any other writer would know no other way. It's a powerful faith-based thriller for the ages and may even be the pinpoint for redefining the genre. Highly recommended for those of you who haven't seen it and are arguing with your other half about what to watch tonight. I promise you'll all enjoy it.
